    I also would like to congratulate Cryptic for the third bithday of STO and this really good episode.

    I enjoyed it very much and I liked all the voice overs, even when they were not necessary for a lot of the NPCs. But it created a lot of immersion.

    I really hope you can keep this quality in all future episodes you may put out. And I really hope you do. Last time I played the game was about a year ago and it really bugged me as I came back a few days ago that you hadn't done any new episodes.

    So I'm really excited about the future of STO and what awaits us this year and you seem to be very ambitious about it.

    A more detailed review from me.

    Just about everything in this episode worked for me.

    The VO was very good. in the past its been hit and miss but this was good stuff. having an actual Star Trek TNG character was the icing on the cake.

    The cutscenes where short and sweet. they did exactly what they are meant to do. give you a nice ship shot, or show something happening without dragging on for several minutes.

    the story was a nice homage to yesterdays enterprise and it was fantastic to see all the different characters we have meet come together in a story that made sense.

    the lack of combat was hardly noticeable. this was taking a mission and having the other aspects be so good that you did not miss the combat, and only made it feel more trek.

    the maps looked great. there was a lot of reused components but thats fine. not everything needs to be 100% new if it saves time.

    lots of accolades. free ships, dilithium and fleet marks on offer for replays.

    minor issues, the computer says recluse when the terantula is destroyed. the text is correct, just the VO. might want to change the text. every time i finish it, my BO seating is gone, which is a pain.

    This mission was just about perfect, the most trek experience i have had in the game and the mission is right up there with some of the devidian and cloaked intention eps. great job.

    This mission was extremely well conceived and executed.

    Story concept was good, visuals were good, voice-over was good, pacing was good, lack of tedious time-sinks was good.

    Re-slotting my boffs on my real ship after beating this mission was much more challenging than the actual mission.

    Played the mission last night, and once again Cryptic, you've excelled yourself.

    I've enjoyed all of the FE Series, and this one-off mission is just as good. Great voice-overs, good rewards, and a very "Trek" feel to it, in terms of both objectives and the inclusion of time-travel. All in all I loved it. More like this please!

    Sure, re-slotting your Boffs afterwards is a bit of a pain, and one I'm sure Cryptic will fix, but overall I thought it was a great 3 year anniversary celebration mission.

    I love the "He's Dead, Jim" accolade too.

    awesome mission, but i want a wise tribble to be a item, not just a npc. casue who doesnt need to ask a tribble for advice

    Great mission! As others suggested, it felt very Trekish. I loved the immersive experience of having my character "forget" who he was. Nice attention to detail with the visuals--such as approaching the Enterprise-C for the first time--and the interaction from other NPCs. Good storytelling and a great reward!

    Thanks for a fun mission--keep these storytelling missions coming, please!

    Your best work yet! Really stoked about the future, if this is what we can expect! Love the Amby, with a good set up, it is a beast. Good enough to get this escort man to leave for a cruiser!

    Agree. Kinda makes me mad we're not getting this quality on a consistent basis.

    God knows we pay enough in lockboxes, or, like me, used to.

    Well, consider that they only recently hired on some of the devs who were abandoned by NC$oft when COX closed down. No way to tell if their input helped make this mission as great as it is, but it certainly gives hope that this isn't going to be an isolated case of quality going forwards.

    About the only way I think it could have been better (though this is only a very minor thing overall) is if you had a choice at the end, and the accolade you got for finishing the mission depended on that choice:

    Choice 1: "Temporal Ambassador" : you make the decision to accept the Temporal Prime Directive and return to your proper timeline (the normal play ending in the game now).

    Choice 2: "Part of the Ship, Part of the Crew" : you make the decision to reject the Temporal Prime Directive and stay on the Enterprise C (and return with it to it's doomed fate). Presumably, this would still result in you returning to your proper timeline, but also wondering which 'you' returned.

    Still, a great job by all the devs and Voice Actors!

    Excellent mission. I just about died at Tasha chastizing me for taking to long to lower the force field. A friend of mine who hadn't played the mission yet asked me how it was. My answer was, "It's not like any mission I've played before."

    It's great fun. Change the rewards, if you must, but keep the mission active!!!

    I was very impressed with the mission! Best one I've played yet! One of my favorite things in the mission is when I got to run over and talk to some of my Bridge Officers. Very surprising!

    Hat's off to the dev team. They certainly keep finding ways to one up themselves. :D

    It screams for a Tholian Temporal War FE arc, as opposed to an episode in a bottle.

    I agree with everyone here - this is too good an episode to be whisked away forever when the event is up. It's a top five candidate, exactly the kind of mission I'd use to sell new players on joining the game.

    Possibly the most fun mission in the entire game. I'm a sucker for alternate timeline stories and this one was amazing. I made an audible squee when my ship disappeared and was replaced with a cargo vessel... and my boffs!... and B'vat!... and the Tribble, so wise!

    Oh yeah, Yar too :P

    Overall, I quite enjoyed the mission.
    My only problem with it was on the gantry out to the the Ent-C. Tasha, constanly pop off.
    "I can do that. I know something about forcefields."
    "You want my help. Your taking too long."
    Your doing wrong. Protocol ### clearly states_"

    She was almost as annoying as Kurland is during Boldly They Rode:

    Loved the episode, played through once and got the Ambassadors.

    Due to the nature of the ship and episode, I named my ship "U.S.S 170101 - C Enterprize" just for the lol's - please notice the Z, not S.

    I was also tempted to name the ship "U.S.S Yesterday".

    I loved the "He's dead Jim!" line and of course all the characters and voice overs.

    The one complaint I have is me, yup, ME - just misunderstanding the "Elder tribble", is this a pickup item? It mentions food, and I noticed at the beginning of the episode a character suggests some kind of soup - is this connected?

    I only ask as in one area you can pick up a "mystery Item", that's all.



    All in all, loved it. Wished more voice overs could be in episodes - I've seen a few but completing these would greatly improve the repeatably aspect as people will enjoy them far more than they already do. :D




    P.S. AWESOME - it's repeatable too. :'D

    It's hard to pin it on one, with so much variation between them, but this was definately one of the best FEs to date. Made all the more awesome by the fact that basically we got tacked onto the actual TNG episode (we're basically in the transition between the C leaving, and the timeline returning back to normal).

    Although I'm not sure how pleased Ereth would be if he found out in another life he ran freight... Probably'd hurt someone.

    And there's a fair bit of new tech in there, as far as I can see, with the handdrawn map, the overridden uniforms, the restraint on the Tholian guard and the delegating interacts to NPCs bit. (Would be great if that could make it into one or two new or remastered missions at some point, so your engineer doesn't just have to stand there and watch you fix the warpcore. And I'm pretty sure Foundry authors would like to get their hands on the uniform override for their duckblinds, time-travel missions and holonovels.)

    So yeah, all-round great mission.

    Just one thing, there at the end, it's spelled ANOMALY, not ANOMOLY. (No! My immersioooooooonnnn! :rolleyes:)

    Also, new (ship) scanning animation? Or did I just not ever look at it till now?

Is this intentional? Had they looked like my crewmembers as well then it would have been very interactive, incorporating my own crew into the story. Very nice touch regardsless!

    Also, it would have been nice to be able to crawl between the maintenance tunnels. I assume this was not the case due to technical limitations. Still it was fun.

    No offense but i was a bit disappointed with it. I did enjoy the in-jokes of the maintenance tunnel accolades though.

    I think the absolute best work is seen in the klingon storyline where you go to stovakor/grethor. That is truly excellent storytelling...original and involving.

    Yeah Tasha was a bit of a nag at one point...but do you blame her.

    I mean really how did you guys not prepare for that....THAT'S Star Trek 101 forcefields you call yourselves StarFleet officers that's why Tasha got to be on the Enterprise and you all got passed up by a Noob Andorian....Now go back to your READY ROOMS, and update yourself on StarFleet protocols :mad:

    When I did the mission on my Fed VA, one of the "Familiar faces" was... my * Borg * Engineering Boff. I said to myself, "Wow, the Tholians really DID kick everyone's..."

    On my long-neglected Klingon Captain, I had to rerun the mission from the control room point after the first run, but I was still able to complete it, and got him his ships, so... minor issue there.

    Great mission, still. (Especially when my Klingon tried to get advice from the Wisest Tribble)

    I must say I was greatly impressed with the story mission, doesn't happen too often I don't really see myself as someone who likes pve. My only big gripe was the "azure nebula" I really find that place looking TRIBBLE just like the UI its just blue. Tho the big Red rift in the background did make it look better.

    I have to agree with the OP.

    This mission was fantastic; for all the reasons he stated. So many good elements in this story!

    Thanks guys and gals at Cryptic - and Ms. Crosby too! What a great way to celebrate STO's 3rd ani!

    The episode was indeed super cool! I especially liked being able to fly the Enterprise myself.

    That was sort of cool, and Slamek (or whatever that Reman's name is) saying "It's too bright!" was a humorous touch. The reason it was only "sort of" cool is that it seemed a bit forced. It felt like those particular characters were shoe-horned in just because they were the characters that Cryptic's voice acting staff had done, rather than for any solid story reason.

    It also sounded like some of T'Nae's dialog had been done in a studio (I know all the voice acting was, but hers actually sounded like it was coming through a microphone).

    Don't know if it's been addressed in this thread, but that was a bug for you. My officers were the correct look, although it seemed like the Tac and Eng were "switched" (but who knows, it's an alternate timeline).
