Other than the hangar issue, does it combine science and tac gameplay well? I'm pretty much considering it as an offensive ship for my scientist, and a science ship for my tac captain... For me, the cannons drew my interest, combined with the ltn cmdr universal slot. The hangar issues I could live with, if these other things were good. Fed hangar vessels are inferior to BoP's and Fer'Jai anyway, in terms of cool.
I could do most of the things I would do with the B'rel with the Hegh'ta, except from a sci/kinetic lurker approach. Which would be very interesting, but of limited value in PvE, I suspect.
I'm really enjoying the Far'fi, btw. Best buy to date. ^^
If you're willing to carry Aux or Weapons batteries it can do fine as an offensive science ship. I wouldn't worry about the Aux Cannons... its a novelty and gimps dps IMO...
If you run high Aux.. multiple cannons will hurt your science powers.. it will also affect any energy weapons you're running aft..
I'm doing on my Vesta what I did on my Kar'fi... power into weapons > shields > aux > engines.... I pop an aux battery for when I use GW3 and let my weapons and pets do the rest....
I'm fine with popping batteries, I was mostly wondering whether the sci/tac combination was indeed as nice as it was on paper. I got full weapon loadouts in various types back before the stf-conversion, so plenty to play around with there.
It's just the first fed sci ship that can carry DHC's (I think), and the 4 tac consoles of the tactical version seemed like something I could use. I'm running the Wells, currently, with two DBB's, a chroniton torp and turrets, and, while it is nice, the extra tac console and DHC's should make a difference.
I'll give it some thought (and then probably end up buying it, partly because I don't see my Klingons flying anything else than the Kar'Fi and mirror Vor'cha anytime soon).
The cutting beam is something I'm looking at as well, it'll be interesting to see how that one meshes in with my builds.
Been waiting and accumulating Zen on all my toons since the last sale (now on to deleting older, lower tier ships to make place...).
Note to Devs: KDF ships! You even had to use the Bortas'qu image on the front page because there's been no other in-game buyable ship since. There's need for some.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

That shot through my mind too

memory time.. feb = 2year anni.. 9months ago, but the varients didnt pop out straight away?
[Combat (Self)] Your Bite deals 2378 (1475) Physical Damage(Critical) to Spawnmother.
I'm really curious about the production cost for making a ship for the game. I would gather making full missions for 1-20 levels would cost a ton more. I'm not asking for KDF 1-20 content, we'd blow through those too quick to be worth the time and cost.
Are the projections for how much a KDF ship would make in sales so much lower than production cost?
I was planning on picking up a few ships in the sale, but I've decided that since we Europeans are being done on Zen prices, I'm not buying any more Zen until PWE get their act in gear and stop charging us more money for less Zen.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.

Same here. No more Zen purchases for me until I get an explanation of the why the cost of Zen for non-US players is higher for less actual Zen.
Thats a Vesta pack and perhaps a few fleet doff packs that they wont be selling to me. I really want the Vesta but I'm not getting ripped off for it.
Plain simple : Conversion and transfer costs that are charged to PW for Euro's by their banks is already calculated in the amount of Zen you'll get for your Euros. BTW, it's not only PW/Cryptic that is handling this, but it should/might be mentioned on their site.

The reason that's bull, is because subscription prices are normalised across the board. There is no reason why we in Europe should be paying nearly $10 USD more, for less.

I would accept that as an explanation if it were not for the fact that:
A) we are being charged far more than the exchange value for currency conversion from 50 USD to a euro equivelent (currently 38 Euros)
we actually getLESSZen. If its a transactional charge then why give less Zen? A transactional charge should be levied in the cost, not in the goods being purchased.
C) I'm in England, we dont use Euro's.
Converting it back the other way we are being charged over $7 more than US Gamers for even LESS Zen?
I don't want to leave the impression of acting smart, probably most of you guys have gone through this already, just wanted to share in relation to the euro-zen transfer rate that everyone is talking about.
I live in Europe, but when I buy anything for STO from the PWE site, I use dollars as currency, maybe you should try that if you haven't alrerady. Last time I did that was just a few days ago (before the 15% sale d'oh!) and so far I was never charged more or received less zen. Payed 20$,got 2000 Z.
Just trying to help, don't really know what the problem is all about because I never encountered it. Cheers!

How did you do that? I don't see any option to change the currency, it always goes to the Euro priced page.

I'd love too but I dont see an option to change currency. The payment page always plonks me in Europe and all it offers is Euros. I'll take another look though in case theres an option to change that I've missed. Appreciate the help too. Thinking on are you still using a Cryptic Acccount or a PWE linked account? It might still be possible to buy using USD on the Cryptic accounts.
The discrepancy, however, still needs an explanation from PWE/Cryptic.

I'm from europe:D
For me, the price is always in dollars:)

I don't even see Moneybookers as a payment gateway option in their list of choices (which displays all and tells you if you can use them in your region).
When you go to purchase zen, what region does it think you are in? Because according to their sales team, anybody in the European region can only by in Euros. Still no answer though as to why we have to pay more and get lower amounts.

I usually use my Visa Internet card, payments made from Moneybookers just like 'najj210' mentioned he does as well. I always have the option to pay in dollars, so I do that and don't lose anything in the trasnfer, I agree however that the discrepancy is somewhat illogical.
Oh and no, mine is not a Cryptic account, it's a PWE one.

All sales should be in US dollars - it would be very annoying to keep adjusting the amount of Zen rec'd based on the daily change in currency
The US dollar is rising and the Euro is falling - is this why you think you are getting less Zen or that

No we believe we are getting less zen because we are as was proved in the initial post.
U.S. folks get 6050 points for $50, EU folks get 4,950 + 350 + 742 = 6042 zen for ?44.99 which at current exchange rates is $58.38. Hence we get less zen for more money.
Edit: So to sum up PWE is not even offering the same amounts of zen for other currencies to offer a direct comparison.

Perfectly put. I've emailed PW Billing support and as yet they are silent. According to Brandon on twitter its down to the "Euro team" who made a Zen change.
I've just paided out to become a lifetime supporter. this is NOT how I expected to be treated.

This is my current ship setup:
Fore Weapons: Chroniton Dual Beam Array, AP DHC (Borg), Chroniton torp MK XII(Purple)
Aft Weapons: AP Turretx2, Temporal Torp* (Cutting Beam)
Deflector: Maco Deflector* (Adapted Maco Deflector)
Engine: Borg Engines* (Adapted Maco Engines)
Shield: Borg Shield* (Maco Shield)
Devices: RMC, Aux Batteries, SFM
Eng Consoles: Neutronium Mk XII(Purple), Tachyokinetic Converter, Subspace Jump
Science Consoles: Field Generator Mk XII(Purple), Borg Console, Theta Console, Isometric
Tactical Consoles: AP Mag Regx3 Mk XI(Blue) (Working on purple MK XII)
Hangar Bay: Advanced Peregrine Fighter's (Considering Shield Repair Drones)
(*) Changes that will happen once I get my Rep high enough
and yes... the Kar'fi is IMHO the best carrier in the game...

I need an explanation from Cryptic/PWE for this.
This also, I'm in Scotland. The UK doesn't have the Euro.
This is a recent change as a couple of weeks ago it was 5000 zen for 44.99 euros.....
Indeed, it was only changed within the last two weeks.

And to that other poster, check your Zen wallet. I had that same issue until I went to my account here and saw the Transfer Zen option.
I promise you, you will not be dissapointed with the Armitage
