Keep in mind the 'Test Weekend' isn't live quite yet, Tribble usually doesn't get patched until the evening, so what you've played so far is not counting towards your hour for the rewards.

Some good stuff to come, though I hope they don't go too overboard with new "systems" (like Reputation/Romulan Marks, Omega Marks, etc.) in future - too many currencies already, and most of these things are just resource sinks; the old saying keep it simple applies even to Trek.

Nevertheless, some real strides are being made, and it is clear that the Devs have listened to some of the suggestions from players (some...).

I will remark that just the simple addition of an option to switch characters as opposed to logging out, then back in with a new one is THE best new feature so far; worth it by itself!

I am also digging the fact that you can now replicate up to 100 of a commodity item! Some of these things are small improvements, but ones we've been asking for - awesome!

The dilithium costs for Duty Officer actions at Star Fleet Academy are a huge mistake and will impact small fleets and solo players. These changes will drive casual players away.

The reputation tab will further dilute material you might donate to fleet projects and adds two new marks you'll have to grind in order to collect (and more dilithium costs, albeit relatively small to start out).

The daily patrol in new space sector was fun but time consuming (one system mission finished around 15% of objective and most usually take 5-10 minutes). Nothing really new or groundbreaking, just more scanning, beaming, fixing, fighting. Or more appropriately grinding.

One gripe is that, again, Terradome hasn't been broken down and placed on the Public PvE.
It would also be nice to have some closure to the Iconian story.

While you may not consider this a bug, I found that unless I was in a specific location trying to collect loot during or after a space battle was problematic in my Tribble experience today.

Had one of my toons join another fleet besides the cryptic tribbles and notice one of there projects were all filled up but no timer (it showed 101%) I am guessing this is from the changes made to the fleet projects also the same is happening to the reputaion system the project is done except this time all it says is "finishing" no timer but it has been that way since I logged on friday night around 6 pm MST

    Edit:

After logging on Saturday the reputation project that said "finishing" had finally finished, since I had started both project at roughly the same time it prolly finished around the same time as the other.

its great, got 60 romulan marks on a single mission

    i have find bugs though

while using warp plasma, all ship systems go to max 125/125 power
isometric charges sometimes bounce off empty space
and while patroling in the new sector block, npc allies are stuck and wont attack enemies :)

nothing serious, but it should be fixed :)
maybe allow for the npcs to be destroyed ?

    anyways,played for like 2 hours,and nothing serious,very fun :)

Overall I'm pleased with what I've seen in S7. Although this will definitely have an adverse effect on Fleet progression. I know I will want to use my ressources on reputation: Borg because I never got a single ground prototype loop in countless missions and then Romulans.

I love the Azure Nebula mission and I really like what they did with the Romulans. Was hoping to get the Romulans as a new playing race however.

I understand why a lot of people are complaining but I also see the benefits.

    Some bugs:

In the ground To the hive mission, the queen borg can't fall in the pit. Because this, she can't die and no none can kill her, forcing the hole team to suicide to reset the room or leave the game.

In the ground to the hive mission: The four rooms with online/offline teleport in the queen borg room have bugs. Some players become traped here, and can't go out because the consoles inside and outside of the cell are always offline.

Mine trap can't load propely. If you are playing with a joined trill in the kdf faction, sometimes your game client shut down without reason.

Had a quick run around on new romulas and it looks promising but I believe it may need some more play testing before release, wish the Romulan playable race was available but new content can only be a good thing.

Just played for 2 hours and I know I have barely scratched the surface. Of what I played I truly liked. No bugs encountered. My main worry was if the camera was going to be broken again as in the launch of season 6, but it wasn't. Of all the systems I visited the only main thing I did not like was the herding the Gekii. I guess I am more into the combat side to not like the Gekii herding. Was great to fight along side the Enterprise. Will play more later. But overall so far so good. Load screen images could of done with updating, but I really did like the new layout of it though.

I think due to the massive mistakes made in the launch of season 6, the guys n gals at Cryptic and PWE have really taken note this time around, so a big well done on that basis.

    Again a big well done.

Great ideas :) i really like the Romulans :) but....i do not like the new reputation system :(
especially the long wait (1d 15h and more) for progress in the various Tiers.

The overall impression is... interesting. However, the repair mission in the Staging Area will be irritating when a full population is running around trying to repair the same few items in the area. I figure the same will be true for other areas on New Romulus. Each players mission should not be affected/affecting other player's ability to accomplish the same.

While traveling back on the east side of the map, my companion NPC either fell over or through the stone bridge. If the pathing did not limit the NPC while crossing the bridge, then he did fall over the bridge.

The shuttle area, 1) the option to travel between starbase and embassy should be active as long as the starbase is Level 1 or higher. 2) the sound produced when walking in ths shuttle bay is irritating; I was getting a headache just listening to the piercing audible through my speakers. 3) the shuttles are the size of runabouts, but they are not runabouts

The space mission are the standard ones you find in system fights, but the pay-off is a little to low; gives the area the fill of a grind-fest for Rom Marks.

Note: Would be nice to be able to test out Vesta on Tribble

Not bad at all, I do like it. One thing is I think the Dilithium drops need to be increased 20%. and maybe different resources to put in Romulan projects. Other than that, nice start.

So far so good. I Have really enjoyed the change in pace. I have found that I really enjoy the New Romulus missions. It is a nice change from grinding away on the various Borg PvEs in order to get items that most times you don't recieve anyway. This is one I hope stays. Now if only we could get a Romulan player character.

The "Tholian Red Alert" daily mission seems to be bugged, at least during the time I played it. I would join via the "Red Alert" tab, fight for what seemed like ages, receive the flyby "Tholian Red Alert Daily Complete," even get that confirmation from the BOff, then...nothing - it does not show as complete. That was way too much time to spend (some of these battles are FAR too long, especially those that come in waves) with VERY little payout, and then to find out it didn't complete.

Also, every time I try to enter a deep space encounter, I see my ship enter, but then get the "Well done, Admiral" message from my BOff saying I have finished "the mission" - without seeing a single enemy ship. No payout, no credit there, either.

Finally, in the other new daily mission in 'New Romulus' space, there really is a lot of time spent for not much. In two of the missions we went through wave upon wave of enemy ships or long "storyline" aspects - all to the tune of 45 minutes or more and...only filled 35% of the total necessary for completion.

I know there are folks who get on and play for hours, but as you have admitted yourselves: you know most of us are more casual players. Honestly, I don't have 6 hours a day to spend fighting the same ships or herding space slugs (Gekli); sorry!

Please either shorten the duration of the missions, or make each mission worth more, percentage-wise.

PLEASE listen to the player base regarding problems (not the ridiculous and overly cosmetic suggestions, but the mechanical and functional ones) and make the truly necessary tweaks and changes BEFORE launch this time! Season 6 was a real train wreck for the first half of its life, but there was so much feedback about problems we saw during testing that a good deal that came along with the live launch could have been avoided.

I liked the intro to New Romulus. It gave a "personal" feel to the content.

I think i did notice a player stuck in the ground - don't remember where. Too busy fighting a horde of Romulans.

    Overall, very nice concept layout.

Seems kind of odd, I went into Bridge view and walked about the ship. In the ship selection I selected my shuttle and made it my current vessel. Then I left the interior and found myself on my escort. With one difference. I had an extra officer position on the UI. I was able to put an officer in it and use it in a fight. Is this supposed to happen?

Just did the new Sector patrol and was engaged by a borg cube in one mission. They behave a bit weird when they turn, doing this extremly fast for a few seconds, then slowing down instead of a slow, steady circling. The cube repeats this pattern over and over again.

Oh, and I noticed the hard way that they can now shoot their instakill high yield plasmatorpedoes on targets above/below them. For me, as a raider/escort pilot, this changes everything. I'll need a new tactic when fighting the borg .__.

The new invasion zone looks rather interesting. It seems like you can spend an entire evening just there doing quests and joining the public alerts, which I do think makes a nice addition, specially with the Tholian zone being rather small and bland in comparison.

Still, I agree with what most people have posted regarding the Time/payout factor.
A lot of the changes kinda seem to work towards increasing the time you need to invest into the game, but the payout doesn't seem to be all that great and takes a loooong time to be noticed since many old players likely won't bother with mk X gear.
This runs the danger of driving the casual crowd off while offering little incentive for the hardcore players to stay since there is no extremely tough endgame raid or super strong Borgbasher-lipra +20 for them to earn.

We have kinda been doing the same STfs for almost 3 years now and the only real incentive we have to do so is to get gear to be better at running these again and again. Making us run these even more often in order to earn slightly different rewards and the "permission" to pay Dilithium for stuff we used to get for free while earning Dilithium doesn't really sound all that motivating to me.

I also hope you -really- rethink the current Dilithium economy. Prices for everything seem to explode and I feel like I will soon be forced to ether choose between investing my earned Dilithium into the Fleet or into the Reputation system and personal gear or invest rather copious amounts of cash into the game. And while I don't mind ocassionally paying money for perks like special starships, outfits or a larger inventory, I'd really hate to have to invest a fixed amount into dilithium every month, too. If I'd wanted to do that I'd play a subscription based game instead.

I like that an option to go your character selection screen, instead of loggign out and logging back in when you wanted to change characters. Hope this feature makes it to the live server.
