    OMG.

you have no team do you?

    go ahead.

    say it.

its the only reason you take this stance.

if you sign up for a 5v5.....or more....and you don't communicate with your team?

thats what im trying to say!

    are you okay man?

(btw, im sober all you usuals reading this)

Are you even reading what I've been saying?

You're giving Team A communication. You're not giving Team B communication. I'm saying both Teams will be (should be) communicating.

Based on what you said here, I have to assume you're not reading what I've been saying.

By describing a target that's blown all his CDs, is waiting for the subnuke bazinga can of whoopass, and flying alone against multiple aggressors?

Flying alone against multiple enemies is a ticket to the respawn area.

What he meant is that in a 5v5, you have X number of damage dealers, and Y number of whatever else on your team. Within that each person/target varies without how tough and difficult to kill they are and require a different amount of firepower to break.

For example, you might be able to crack through an escort with just the damage dealers pounding hard and timing their buffs/debuffs, however you might need more damage output to get through a healing cruiser/carrier/whatever. You deal with this according to what you have, and what you know the enemy team has and you distribute your damage dealing in accordance with what your facing in a given match....

ggs man. ive never met you in battle, yet somehow i look forward to it.

    to the rest of you:

    I get that.

Perhaps the issue here is that I was going with what he was saying literally. The context matters - with it being a combination of 1v1 and 2-3 v1 discussions... it comes off as it does.

With regards to the 1v1 and 2-3v1 comments:

The main thing to get is dependent on the type of ship that you're having to shoot at and (more importantly) who is doing the actual shooting.

If the ship is a full cruiser healer then they will have maximum tanking potential and will require significant firepower to bring down (2-3 people normally). Now enter in a team setting and that 2-3 person requirement now becomes amplified because you have additional teammates in the mix supporting that ship just as the teammates are being supported by him. In those cases, the only way to win is to take out the surrounding support and therefore enable you to take down the healer(s).

As for 1v1, it's difficult anticipate how things will react in a 1v1 setting, given that it's not the main focus of the game (for all of the soloing that you do in PvE/leveling, PvP is a team sport).

    hello all!

so there is this new hax ship on the horizon? (no pun intended) and you got yourself all worked into a fine little ragemode......

    with either anticipation or resent...right?

well, your ole buddy horizon is here with a friendly little piloting tip for those that just can't wait to lay the smack down on some Vesta TRIBBLE.

you see, what happens after an overpowered ship is launched....in the queue's..... everybody rushes out with their partially tested POO POO build.

    what you need..... ZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is a Horizon tested PEW PEW build!

    what you will need:

    a sci captain.
    a tac captain.
    voice communication
or a nice keybind to announce these 2 things:)

1 subnuke, sensor scan combo.....full aux and some torpedos.
1 attack pattern alpha, fire on my mark.... and some dual heavy cannons

you see....it is inevitable. there are cooldown gaps.

every target has a tac team cycle. most players still run reverse shield polarity.

so wait until that Vesta has run his little game.....then run your "Horizon tested" (TM) combo! nuke that ***** Vesta's RSP right into the ground. and Debuff that sucker with scans and fomm.....and here come the cannons and torps.

and there you go. one big OP ship blowing up right in front of you. and if he was rubber band healed back into OPness???? target the guy who healed him. he doesnt have anything to heal himself with. and if that guy is backed up.....well... you either ran into a partial/full premade... or a very aware pug. (the latter does not happen much btw.....or the first one actually)

    have fun kill bad guys!

Can I be your sci duder when we get to blow this ships up?!!

First it was the gal-x- it was uup as hell people that played it soon realised it was TRIBBLE, and sure there have been many p2win ships but it really started with oddessy imo or the bug ship they are truely better then their counterparts.

This new science ship might be just a karfi, but it got everything abit better or more of. Op maybe not but its just a matter of time when the old T5 ships are as relevant as the miranda in pvp.
    Noone.

Hmmm so the OP puts a 2 vs 1 situation. Then its just as fair that the Vesta gets another team mate with him/her..lets say a jem`hadar bug.

let the piloting and timing games begin!

edit: you also just posed a 2v1 scenario. any 2 ships are going to have the advantage over their 1 target

edit #2 because now im getting drunk. and now the lonely tac escort gets his engie oddy backup!

    who will win!!!!!

    fight!

Well duuuuuh, obvious. But then again a single escort can kill that ship due to weak hull. BO3, PSW, and send in the trico.

    Bye Vesta.

And i just want the temporal time ship -.-

Oh no I'm sorry I think ou and me are miss communicating. I agree with you 100% about the vesta it will not break the game I was just making the point that all in all it is on par with fleet ships. And I've never poped a bug in a vesta because I don't have one lol. I poped multiple bugs in a wells without the use of temprial ablitys. I'm just saying that the way you said you can kill one in one go works very well most of the time because most of the players are built for pave not pvp but yes I apologize we where agreeing with each other in different ways
-"There is no such thing as an I win button!" "Um, Sir. Whats this button that says (I win) for then?"

sorry horizon, i cant quite agree. every other ship relies on team work to effectively get that kill in the cross healing ether, a sci in a vesta i can see setting up the kill and doing a significant part of the execution itself. this is mold breaking, a sci ship that can do legitimate spike, using this instead of any other sci ship when the team is going for the kill will give you another ship dealing escort damage when it is needed. its too good, with this team work your talking about. you think this thing cant do escort damage? escort damage is done by DHCs, not ONLY escorts. i don't think your team would even need escorts with 2 or 3 vestas.

i doubt anyone would argue that teamwork doesn't trump everything, bugs included. they go down hard like everything else. they are only hell in pugs were its him solo vs you solo. even though its OP ness is diluted when team work is strong, it should not exist in that state anyway.

The sky's not falling, and this ship will be beatable. 100% behind the Cappy on this. Keep shooting, sub-nuccing, and team healing your way to victory.

It is, however, extremely overpowered relative to other science ships. It is, literally, every Fed Fleet Science Ship condensed into three ships with an add-on hangar, and better potential spike damage. It has some wild, wild console abilities. It loads DHC's on a nimbler, Sci-heavy Fleet Vor'cha with better shields, maneuverability, and a hangar.

Unbeatably broken? It's not *quite* to the level of the Jem Shield+BFI bug, but it's pretty far up the ladder. Makes my Regent feel a bit like a waste Zen, and leaves me wondering why I should even bother with a Fleet RSV (aside from liking the Luna-class)?

I have decided that I have been playing nice guy for too long. No more.

Meet the new face on my anti-Vesta build:

    PETS & CONSOLES:

Energy Syphon pets + Ace. Assimilator + AMS

    ABILITIES:

Energy Syphon + SS + PSW + GW

It is going to be a blast. I happy advocate ALL KDF carrier pilots to go Vampire!!!!

Like I keep saying, I want to see the video of the KDF ASD/AA carrier fleet fighting 2 Recluse, 2 Sci Vesta, and a Tac Vesta (maybe a Fleet Armitage)...

...I can see the girlfriend looking at my screen while I watch it and asking who recorded a cat throwing up a box of crayons.

I pretty much agree with this. I feel the Vesta set is on par with the Odyssey set, but I don't feel either are game-breaking OP as some have claimed now and then (at the Ody's release).

Next up is the escort set ... I hope. :)

I wish they'd upgrade the graphics engine. This is what I call an EPIC space battle, with ships ships EVERYWHERE, but it just kills the rendering. Sometimes, whole ships just disappear. :/

    STO is a team game.

By itself the Vesta appears exceedingly OP in comparison to other ships in that class, and significantly more in terms of anything the KDF can field.

Now consider that you are going to have a 2-3 of these hangar capable ships in the field.

The sky may not be falling, but something is not right. For those that are arguing that the Vesta is no OP and even a crappy ship, is their slide-of-hand attempt to ensure that it does not get balance, and remains with the perfect stats it currently has.

Then there is No reason why the KDF can't have a Vesta similiar vessel.

They can even call it the Chancellor Class strike vessel after the Gorkon novels.
    Something like;

    Chancellor Class Strike vessel
    Rank Required: Lt.G
    Hull Strength: 29,000
    Shield Modifier: 1.15
    Crew: 950
    Weapons: 4 Fore, 2 Aft
    Device Slots: 3
Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Lieutenant Universal, 1 Lieutenant Engineering, 1 Commander Science, 1 Ensign Universal, 1 Lieutenant Commander Tactical
Base Turn Rate: 13 degrees per second
    Impulse Modifier: 0.16
    Sensor Analysis
    Can Equip Cannons
    Standard Cloak
Aux Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannons Mk XII [Acc] [Dmg]x2
1 Hangar Bay with 1 wing of Siphon Drones

No idea what the three variant special abilities would be.

or they could draw inspiration from MisterDee's Deep Scout vessel ideas.

I mean if the Vesta is not OP, that is.

I personally want a fully-universal, QuD-style (powerful and heavily armored) BoP that harnesses Kar'fi interdimensional rift technology and the turbulent energies of the nether-hell to grant me both instant teleportation on a short cooldown as well as a dark, nigh-impenetrable battle shroud/cloak. I will call it the IKS Hellraiser and it will be just magical.

More seriously though, a "deep scout" ship that could deploy cloak-enhancing, team-buffing (like stronger AoE hull repair or something) listening posts, and maybe some more heavily-sci CC powers would be nice. I mean it'd be kind of like the Varanus except done right this time (i.e. it has an actual cloak, can turn worth a ****, etc).

It's not so much builds as choosing the right ship and keeping out of its arc. You should comfortably have superior turn so long as you're in a 'scort, just stay well out of its fore like you would against any other escort and pulverize its rear end. Control its movement with TB if you can, it's unlikely they'll take any hold immunities.

So maybe escorts that have an extra sci slot like Advanced or Fleet patrol so you can use TB and still have heals would be good, or Bird of Prey with a little extra sci.

Also was looking at the stats and it has paper thin hull but strong shields so even getting that shields out of the way for a few secs would mean death for this so maybe beam target shields and/or other shield strip powers could be useful? Think I might replace BO for
target shields for my DBB and use tractor with shield drain doff.
