something similar happened to me yesterday. two people insisted in splitting. When finally they got together we managed to get the 4 generators on one side, they started on the spheres (the regular ones) so there was no way to bring down the tranformer before the nanite probes and spheres overwhelmed us. sigh. It helps if two people get the nanite probes/spheres, an two should be enough on the trasnformer, specially if there is 1 science with photonic fleet.

On the other hand I have had two fails since yesterday on the cure ground. The double turret gate. People don't seem to undrestand that 1) once the first node is activated you are on a timer for the whole thing, 2) nodes need to be protected, and 3) they guy setting the charges on the turret needs some cover. You need to distract the turrets: shot once, once it turns on you, cover your TRIBBLE, as soon as it turns on someone else, get out and fry it. That way it never does too much damage to anyone.

well heres mine........ but to be honest its pretty short but completely stupid (this is on Elite btw).

*sigh* joined a infected space que, 4 of them were from the same fleet some German fleet or something.

anyway two went left two went right, completely bypassing the cube and the spheres at the start.

then suddenly in chat "omg why cant we attack is it bug?"

other fleet mate of his: "yes i think its bug"

so they just fly around for a little bit and im here with my MACO set and elite anti-proton weaponry just thinking hmmm should i even bother?

    then suddenly in chat

"we have to destroy ships first?"

naturally i raged because i was sitting there for 10 minutes just watching them talk to each other like they never played an STF before.

and so they came to destroy the ships and much like the OP's story they had multicoloured rainbow show beam arrays and 2 sets of projectiles.

okay so after 10 more minutes of them some how finding it incredibly hard to kill a cube with 5 of us. well....... in this case "1" of us (me) we finally made it past the cube and spheres.

    and this is the kicker........

they all grouped up and ignored the cubes above the transformer and the nanite structures and went straight for the transwarp gate and so they ended up shooting at the gate.

after 10 minutes of watching them and trying to explain to them how to play (obviously cant read) one of them types "omg its bug lets leave" and so they left...................

if there was ever a time to hate noobs that was the time lol

^^ That just reached new hights in stupidity. Even the daftest person would attack all possible targets before bailing... that is just incredible.

I just came from doing a CSE pug just to see fails in action. There were three feds (including myself), and two klingons, all tacticals. The saddest part was I was the only escort. The closest was one Raptor. There was also a star cruiser, a (presumably fleet) heavy cruiser, and some klingon cruiser I didn't care to identify. So let's just give these people some names for reference (these are not their real in game names):

    Bob - (fleet?) heavy cruiser
    Bill - Star cruiser
    Joe - Some raptor
    Jim - Some klingon cruiser

So, we start off and I say hi, no response one person goes left, two go right, Joe stays at the spawn for a minute. I go and hit some of the middle bops and ask who's guarding Kang. Joe says he can. So I finish with my two bops and go to the right probes. I shoot a couple of them, get one shotted by a negh'var and respawn to find bops circling the kang. I fly in and kill off the bops, meanwhile Bob and Joe are the only ones doing somewhat average damage. So the rest of the mission continues with me flying around and killing bops all over the place because these guys have no sense of coordination. They were loosely going after the right probes... sort of.

Joe has been saying one word things occaisionally such as 'ow' and 'lucky'. At some point after I mopped up bops coming down the center he says 'go right it hurts less'. I have no idea what that meant. And I am continuing to kill bops all over the place, firing attack patterns, CRF, beam overloads, subspace jumps, you name it. And I spammed all of my two ally heals on the Kang. Now sometimes things would get out of hand and bops would swarm the kang. One time a whole bunch got to it with a Negh'var and after barely staying alive to finish them (with the Kang at around 50%) I see Bob and one other shooting at the right cube.

I knew at this point they were going to kill it eventually and release raptors from the other two launch bays, so since I had just killed off the newest spawns I hurried the inevitable. I did a consecutive beam overload two-shot on the cube's open shield and killed it. I whipped around knowing what was coming. And it was then I realized my terrible mistake. The raptors had spawned like I expected from both launch bays, but what I didn't count on was that four bops and a negh'var were bearing down on the kang!

I go and open fire at the bops coming down the center, killing them. But the raptors, remaining bops, and negh'var are at the Kang. I fly in to shoot them down, but thanks to my dps I draw all the aggro at me and I'm dead. So I quickly repair my injury and close my status page to see no Kang, a massive cloud of borg ships, and a leaver button.

All in all, quite a fun game but that team was a complete fail. It was a hysterical 20-25 minutes.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

I've seen that on many occasions. They bypass the first group and can't figure out why they can't attack the second. It's gotta be a bug.

Even worse, they can't figure out why their rainbow/technicolor beams aren't doing any damage. It's gotta be a bug.

And finally, tons of ship damage and they die at a near miss of a Borg beam. It's gotta be a bug! :o

I had a bad CSN today.

I joined a pug and only 4 ships showed. I figured it was still winnable. So I fly off to the right and start shooting.

So this guy, I'll call him Skittleman, starts telling everyone they need to go to the Kang and protect it and he will take care of the nodes. I saw his skittles and know instantly there is no way he is going to have the fire power needed to complete the mission. One ship, a Klingon, heads off to the Kang. He's doing a great job protecting it but Skittleman is really peeved. He wants everyone to protect the Kang.

Skittleman is doing little or no damage to the Nodes while two of us are doing all the damage. The other ship that's helping out just says TRIBBLE this and bales. I guess he just got tired of listening to Skittlemans rants.

So now it's Skittleman and me at the nodes. I did the best I could but I didn't kill al the nodes quick enough and lost the optional. So now the Klingon who was protecting the Kang bales.. It's now Skittleman and me. Skittleman throws a few more insults and bales.

Now it's just me. I actually hung around and tried to complete the mission by myself but the Kang did go boom and the mission was lost. I think if we had killed the second cube before Skittleman baled I could have done it.

    Oh well. :P

    This isn't a bad one.

I joined a CSN pug and was amazed at how quick it went. There were no Klingons, rainbows or skittles. One escort protected the Kang while the rest of us killed the nodes and cubes. Another escort was practically one shotting any ships spawned by the cubes. The cubes were all dead in about 5 minutes. The Kang never recieved a hit. It was amazing. Then the carrier showed up and died in just a couple minutes.

I pulled a rare borg salvage and two of the regular Borg rewards.

I wish they all were that fast and the teams were at least half that good.

    There I was.

    I pugged into a CSN.

    Somebody said 'Hi'

I went into shock and fell out of my chair.

I got back up, said 'Hi' back and flew to the right.

I hear someone on voice chat saying we were all weak noobes..

I check his stats, his accolade was about 1800.

He goes on cussing that we were all doing the mission wrong and to follow him.

    Follow him where?

I just typed, 'oh goody, one of those.'

    He starts calling me noobe.

I typed 'compare my stats to yours. If you want to go head to head message me after the match.'

He just flew off about 50k and pouted. :D

We won with just four ships with lots of time to spare. :)

    He never messages me. LOL.

    There is was.....

    ISN

    I pugged in, said, 'hi'

    No response.

There were three oddys with technicolor/rainbow beams and a Klink.

We clear the first group, two oddys die.

We all go left except the Klink who goes right.

He starts hollering about how dumb the Feds are and starts in on whatever he can to bring out the probes and spheres.

    Then he bails.

The three oddys are to weak to do much damage and none of them understand that you need to keep the nodes from healing the gen.

One oddy keeps getting further and further away while trying to kill a sphere.

Two oddys are firing at gen without killing the nodes.

For some wired reason one of the two decides to go to over to the right side.

The right side was swarmed with spheres and nodes.

I tried and tried to tell them to kill the nodes but it didn't work so I flew in and killed them.

After a few minutes of this I just gave up and left.

In this particular case the Klingon was correct.

I have a new one. It was an ISE. So here we are, a nice 5 man team, 4 KDF and me, the lone fed. So we absolutely SLAUGHTER the starting patrols, and I mean dead in under a minute. So I am thinking "Oh good, high dps team, we're good to go." We demolish the left side in under 2 minutes, and then kill off the nanites and spheres also under 2 minutes. We then take out the left side, same thing. Here is where the fun starts.

So I see on team chat: "ok guys, remember the plan, split up and kill em both at the same time."

My brain literally stops when I see that. Then I start laughing, because these 4 idiot klingons (I guess in the defense of the klingons, two of these guys were orion males (WHY?????) and there was a gorn and klingon male) then split up. And start attacking both the gate and tac cube. I decide to pity them and help, but with the focused fire of the cube and gateway (which the two were focusing fire, kinda scary tbh) they just melted these 4 (which were flying a mix of raptors and bcs) and then started on me. I was in my tac oddy with saucer still attached, so I was on full defensive. I start just tanking both of them healing like a madman etc, praying that these 4 klinks would grow a brain and attack only one, but guuuess what... repeat. I try to keep aggro, but holding aggro from both... not happening. Sufficed to say, these 4 die a good 4 or 5 times before they finally call me a stupid fed noob for not following the plan, and then leave.

Um... why? Hell if I know. So I just proceeded to solo the tac cube AWAY from the gate, and then after healing up kill the gate. Takes about 20 minutes (beam arrays are not known for their damage output lol). But seriously??? SPLIT UP??? Wtf were these guys smoking? Or was their blood wine a little older then they thought??? Sufficed to say, I got a good laugh out of it. And the icing on the cake was I got a Proto Shield tech from it too ;)
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

Just discovered this thread. The moral of this story is Karma does wait to get you

I'd been swapping between my Klingon and my fed to do STF's in a rolling block all night, lots of good teams (Cure for example with 7 minutes left on the optional). Then Karma decides I've had enough fun. I was in my fed, flying my brand new Chimera. Its lucky I was, and he was a tactical

So I hope into one STF (I forget its name, but its the one with the time portal). There's two of us in escorts, and three crusiers.

After 10 minutes and me holding a gate on my own, and asking the others to do stuff like either stop a probe or go help the otehr escort. The other escort whom seemed comptent decides he's had enough and bails

So there's me, and 4 rainbow warrior crsuiers.

We did actaully manage the mission... it just took an hour and a half, of cosntant clicking of powers and concetrating on the game. When the drednought appeared she came after me, and me alone.
I was utterly burnt out on STF's for the rest of the night.

I went into a fleet event today. There were 2 escorts, 1 heavy cruiser, an excelsior and me in my oddy

Everything was going great, all the levels went very fast, everything was fantastic. All the players were coordinating just great. It seemed like we were all focussing on one ship at a time and killing it quick. It was great to watch the Klingon ships just melt away under our fire. I thought we had it made.

Then the last group came out. It was like everyone forgot how to fly. People were just shooting at anything that moved. There was no coordination of any kind.

We lost the final battle with two ships left over. It was embarrassing.

It was a few weeks back, me in my star cruiser doing KASE. The first cube went down a little slower than expected, but hey, it's not a big deal. Me and an escort went to the right and the other 3 went to the left. I positioned myself for a probe duty (meanwhile taking care of the cube above the transformer which was next to me) and the other guy (in the escort) went on the far side to take care of the cube and the transformer. As mentioned, I destroyed the cube and started working on the transformer (while still wiping the probes) and after a while I noticed, that the far side cube is wandering into the middle of the map (and the escort guy "puf"-ing time after time). I guess for some reason his weapon power was at 50 or something like that, so I went out of my way and helped him kill the cube. Finally, the two of us brought down the transformers and the gate and went to help the other 3 (I've no idea what they've been doing, but the gate was still up). After a good 50 minutes, we got to fight Donatra. After 10 more minutes, seeing that she was at 97% health and shields at max, I decided that I had enough - I told the others that I'm fed-up and I'm leaving the map. And so I did.
Something more recent - last night at CSE, there was something that really annoyed me - a klink in a carrier standing right above the Kang and being next to useless - couldn't kill even two BOPs. I had to do the guarding for him, but other than that, everything went as planned though we didn't make the optional.

On the side note, there are really awesome PuGs - a team of four in KASE, 3 german guys and me. All the transformers and gates went down in 12 minutes flat. Of course, not with my star cruiser, but with my FAE.

And please, be nice and answer in the chat when being asked a question - it's very helpful to know what the person next to you is thinking of doing.

I believe it is Infected space. (The one with the gateways)
Whenever I run into the people that say "Only drop the nanogenerators to 10% so we can get the bonus!"
Out of all the times I've seen people attempt that strategy, It's never worked. we ether end up running out of time, or the main generator gets swarmed by spheres which heal it, failing the mission.

I instead choose to steamroll the map. Everyone use full power to take down the nanogenerators as fast as possible, while diverting a person to be a decoy for the incoming spheres while the rest take down the gate.
Out of all the times I've done this, it only failed once: Because we had someone on the team trying to do the 10% way.

Today was awfull. My fleet only had about 100 points to go to get over the last hump on the star base tier 1. I thought no problem, I could do that in three or four fleet grinds.

    Yea, right.

Eight losses later I still hadn't earned enough points to get us over the top.

I gave up and saw later that one of the other fleet members had finished the job.

I do so despise rainbow warriors.

For fleet marks i prefer Incurshion and colony, they're pretty reliable in giving decent amounts even with major team TRIBBLE ups, you just won't kill much in phase 2 or 3.

10% fonctions like a charm espiecally with PUG's. Your methods only works on normal or with Premade which has enough CC Abilitys.

I had good, mediocre and really worse ESTF's:

CSE. A Gal Retrofit told us he would defend Kang. He was even unable to kill a SINGLE Bird of Prey

The other 3 split and everyone tried to destroy the probes on his own.
After 5minutes they still didn't more than 2 probes because they were sitting at 9,99km and shooting at the probes -.-

After a lot of hassle with the BoP's, Neghvars etc I destroyed right cube, middle cube (annonced the kill to get them time to prepare for the raptors on Teamchat), turn to the kang and see 9 raptors over the kang and 4 players who didn't managed to kill a single raptor ...

Kang got destroyed and I hopefully never see that player again :-P

    Infected Space Elite.

I pugged in and said, 'Hi' as usual.

    I got some rare replies.

    Good Start????

Now I have this miserable cold, sneezing, caughing and gagging... Eeeewwww....

Everybody agrees on the 10% rule as we are killing the entry group.

    Yippeee.....

We fly over to the left and kill the cube, I buzz over to the back side and bring a node down to about 12%

We're all waiting for one other node to drop down and what happens???

    I sneeze....

Somewhere in the throws and convulsions of the sneeze I hit the fire button.

I killed my node while the one we are waiting for is still at about 50%.

A couple people say nasty things to me and I try to explain that I sneezed. :D

Aside from that incident all went well.

Everyone told me next time keep my hand away from the fire button if I need to sneeze.

(I though it was pretty funny myself....) :D

Why oh why won't some players heal their ships before entering STF's?!

Had one earlier - out of five players only myself, in my Rhode Island, and a Klingon Bortas were flying ships without injuries. The remainder of the team were using ships that had a minimum of two, one player having at least five.

Saying that, the player with five ship injuries must have had problems with a subspace jump console or something, as he jumped in and out of the instance like a yo-yo. One moment it was "whatshisface has joined the match" two seconds later "whatshisface has left the match". Saying that, he was useless when he did participate anyway.

Anyhow - this was possibly one of the most painful ISE instances I've ever played - Captain yo-yo notwithstanding, we also had a player in a Patrol Escort who wouldn't listen - his DPS was good to be fair, though his shields weren't and his playing hero, almost to the point that one got the impression that he thought he could solo the mission, meant that he spent a lot of time in respawn oblivion. So that left me, the Bortas and a Starcruiser who did know what he was doing (beyond not healing his injuries) as the only three effective players. And we completed it, but it took a while and the loot was junk. :(

Ouch, those are the ones that are most annoying, the worst I have seen is a ship in an infected elite that have 20 critical ship injuries and wouldn't heal them even though we gave him some heals to help, at the end of the match, when he saw the injuries, guess what he said

"Do these red damages on my ship affect my performance at all?"

    Me = facepalm

Aside from that incident all went well.

Everyone told me next time keep my hand away from the fire button if I need to sneeze.

(I though it was pretty funny myself....)

Oh the irony of a sneeze causing a problem in a mission named "Infected" :D

    Good war story!
