Just gotmout of a KAGN run and despite the title of this thread i want to give massive compliments to Dew, MADDOG and Billibboo (think last one is right).
We had the sevrer TRIBBLE out and DC 3 of the 5. 2 got back but 1 didn't. hat left me as the only person who'd ever been in there before so i had to direct them around the final part klilling the nodes by remote whilst running the room. Despite them getting confused a time or two we made the mission and even kicked torsk down.
Normally in this kind of situation you expect a disaster, but for once i got new people who actually listened did their job, and at the end enjoyed the run. Was a real nice change of pace .
I had a really good one yesterday. Not good meaning bad, no I mean it was actually good. I went with some other fleet people and we did a CSE. Everything went well, but we lost the optional due to time. I was lagging badly when we got to the third cube and then just froze. Then I was disconnected and I logged back in. I thought "Oh, I'm sure they made it. I'll just jump and grab my reward bag." So I go back in. I must have been out when they destroyed the carrier.
I gotta say I don't believe I've seen this happen before.
I pugged into an ISE.
I said 'Hi' as usual.
No responce.
All ships hit the first group and wipe it out quick.
I type '10% rule?'
No responce.
I fly to the left and start on the cube.
I look around, where is everybody?
No ships in sight.
I find them finally, all 4 in different areas about 30k off in the distance.
I type, 'Even farmers should know that if there's nobody fighting theres no rewards.'
No responce.
I kill the cube by myself then kill one node and release the hords on the left.
I fly to the other side and kill the cube, kill one node and release the hords on the right.
I type 'Think you guys can handle this?'
No responce.
I pug out.
I have no idea what happened after that. I was just imagining that they didn't even know I left and sat there waiting for their goodies. Or maybe they argued about who was going to 'save the day.' Or maybe they just pugged out.
I mean it is fun also, to find out, that one of your fleetmates have 10k dps (totally true), and you can do CSE in 10 mins, but theres nothing like a good game of pug, when someone knows better

The Fleet runs are pretty much predictable - we almost certainly will have the optional - it's rare to wonder IF you're going to make it (like the other night in ISE when you made the map and 2 teammates dropped). KASE for 7 minutes...and we most definitely can do rrmmll on CSE, so PuG is exciting and sometimes fun.
How was your pug last night? Mine was for the other topic (the really good ones)
PuG-ing is the best feature for me at the moment, although sometimes one might get frustrated.
Cheers.
I have been spamming STF's in a mad dash to get all of my gear before the train wreck of Season 7 hits. All has been going remarkably well, until I hit the massive speed bump of "The Cure" stf, I have been able to clear this STF on elite with no trouble until the recent week, all sorts of goofy **** has been happening, like people flying off in all different directions, four people protecting the Kang yet it still gets turned into space dust. Failed like five in a row due to something like this, this **** is like having a aneurysm in your a** instead of your brain.
four people protecting the Kang yet it still gets turned into space dust.
It takes a MINIMUM of three rainbow/technicolor beam boats (they MUST be rainbow/technicolor) to protect the Kang, One person to kill the cubes and nodes, and one person setting 35k in the distance calling everyone a noobe in order to properly complete or fail a CSN.
Everybody has been in complete agreement on those terms for a long long time. LOL!!!
Like everybody in here, I've been in my share of bad groups, and I'm disappointed and/or irritated when it happens but we all get over it in pretty short order. However a few weeks ago I was pugging IGE with a friend to try and gear our alts, and it left a really really bad taste based on the actions of one person...
So I'm sure that everybody knows that it's.......less than likely to get the optional for Infected Ground Elite while you're pugging, but every now and then lightning strikes in the queues and a group of quality people are put together.
So my friend and I get into IGE and everybody says hi, and it gets established quickly that 3 of the people in the group had gotten the optional in the past (my friend and I included) and two of the people admitted that they'd never gotten it and didn't know how, but I was pleasantly surprised (and encouraged) when both of them agreed to stay behind me and follow my lead. However the final guy immediately chimes in that I don't know what I'm doing and that if they (the newer players) wanted to get the optional then they should contact his fleet because they sell runs and will get both of them the optional for a fee.
At the start I think nothing of it at the start and just tell the inexperienced guys to follow my lead and we'll be fine.
Instantly the problem props up, my friend and I are directing traffic for the two newer guys during the first crewman, and instead of contributing, the final guy walk (yes walks) right past the firing line and ignores everything and walks into the room. My friend and I rush in and are able to save the crewman, and the 2 inexperienced guys proved to be pretty good as they didn't die and helped mop up. We were still on pace...
Next room/crewman, same deal, he walks in and triggers the timer and we rush in and save it. Next crewman, same thing, and the next and the next; all the while telling everybody that if they want to get the optional then they should run with people that know what they're doing and contact his fleet to buy a run.
We kept it up and kept the pace as best we could (we were a little behind given that only 4 people were participating) and we kept saving the crewman right up until the first double. The ******* triggered the line and we saved one but not the second crewman and the optional was lost.
In the end we got the run finished, but it just left a really bad taste in my mouth that that ******* sabotaged the entire group just so he could sell runs for his fleet (even had the rates posted in his Bio), and didn't stop advertising it until we were finished and exiting.

Apologies for the correction, but Khitomer Accord Space counts as another that can end prematurely and unsuccesfully; if ten probes get through the gate you get the red text of fail there too.
The only way to let 10 probes through the portal is if all 5 players are comatose. Any single player can prevent that from happening for an indefinite amount of time.
CSN was my first STF, and I don't do ground STFs. Cure is still my favorite because it's actually interesting. Infected is an easy routine, and KA is a lot of sitting around and shooting.
For those wondering, that marker that says "teamates 45KM" is actually point at teamates that are at this point runing at full impulse towards me, i didn;t check before quitting the map but i was probablly a good 100Km+ of the base by this point. About 5 seconds after it died a swarm of beams and cannons shots went wild around me as they cleaned off those damm fighters, (not sure why those listed at 9KM on the screen**** didn't open up sooner, or the lady on the bottom right *shurg*). And yes i did all that damage with plasma burns. Never did get the gits sheilds down, but got me a siege dreadnaught. Even dropped me a basic weapons battery as a reward.
Still bragging aside i really should never have been able to do even that much danmage before somone else came in. Probably had a lot to do with the fact that we had a full blown 5, (that i counted), T1/T2 ships in it. Cryptic really needs to fix this as i had a 5 man immidiattly beforehand with 2 of the same in.
I was on my tac in a Fleet Defiant and qued up for KASE because stf channels were slow at the time. Big mistake. I ended up in a group of 2 sci and 2 engineers all in sci ships, carrier and cruisers. Rather then quit right there upon seeing this low dps group I decided to give it a try and came up with a plan to do the stf in a reasonable time despite being in a low dps group.
I volounteered to guard both sides which I can do quite easily, thereby freeing up the rest of the team to dps transformers/gates. After taking the first 2 waves of probes out on each side, the stupid sci carrier decided to guard a gate and ignored me saying i have both sides under control. After asking him again, another teammate said just let him do that, so I went fine you guys both guard then so i can dps gate. Sure enough, neither of them could handle a single side on their own. Rather then going back to guard I figured TRIBBLE it if they cant guard let it fail so i kept dpsing transformer until ten probes went through.
afterward one of the stupid sci captain wanted to try blaming me for not helping him and the other sci with guarding even though I was doing it all by myself until those people had to but in and try guarding thus forcing me to get off guard and dps transformers or be stuck in the stf forever.
so, I join a CSE.
guy writes in chat right in the second I warp in. if we dont play for the optional, he quits, because there is not much point in playing then... I say its a bit bad of an attitude for pugs. (isnt it? if you pug, dont expect to get the optional, but if you do, be happy about it, for optionals, there is the stf channel and fleets).
he says after 4 mins, he will know if we can get the optional or not. genius isnt he? I mean the second I warped in I knew we had a high chance of not getting the optional (apart from his brilliance ofc, because no doubt, he alone could get it). we had two escorts, a dreadn, a starcruiser, and a carrier. that is not the setup, you will get the optional in pugs. but he needed his 4 minutes, so I held back my unprofessional opinion.
after 3 minutes the cruisers are overwhelmed with the bops (they handled them, but they were not in control fully). so I help them. our hero declares, that we are all noobs, and ragequits. now we are four, I straigthen out the situation with the bops, and by the time all the probes were down, we still had 3 mins for the optional and the kang was safe, and got a new guy (in a sci ship :S)
sadly the first group of rapotrs did hurt the kang badly, but we would have gotten the optional (especially if our hero in his escort wouldnt have left)
still, he deserved his one hour penalty, when we pretty much finished in time, as we would have with the optional.
Been doing a ton of CSEs the past day to try and get my engines for a few toons.
Wow, just wow. Sometimes the groups are solid but their are so many horrible players. Which wouldn't bother me except...
When the baddies rage. Especially after a cube blows early. Three raptors are not that difficult to kill. And if you can't kill them atleast be able to CC them. Is that too much to ask? Or someone other than myself throwing tac team on Kang would be nice too.
I think the funniest one so far was where myself and another guy cleared out the probes under left cube killing the bops as they spawned only to turn around and realize no other probes have been kilt. So I kill three probes on right and the Neg that spawned and headed mid. At this point I was annoyed so I spawned the Neg and let it go off and kill a few fellow players which I would feel bad about except that every ship can solo a Neg or they shouldn't be in CSE to begin with aside from the occasional Iso crit atleast. I finish off the nanites under mid and pop the cube. Mash Evasive and all my abilities rushing off to the left. Smash the 3 raptors by myself then fly into the cube guns blazing. Cube dies I turn to see, 2 raptors on the Kang, one teammate on the last cube and the others defending. Sigh. So I rush over slap a tac team on kang, help kill the last raptor and the 3rd cube popped and we won with optional. And I got Engines *woot* and told everyone GG.
*Sorry just had to vent a bit lol*
I'm not that good of a player so I don't feel I have the right to rage on mah team. The only players good enough to rage can pretty much solo an STF and therefore have no reason to rage. Conclusion, STFs should be rage free IMHO.
I did a starbase blockade yesterday with a 5-star troll. We'll just call him Mr. Troll for reference.
So I warp in with the other four players and say hi as usual. When the game starts, we all go off and start helping the freightors.
-a few minutes later-
Mr. Troll says "you guys are stupid heal the transports" and then "why do I always get stuck with rainbow boat (bleep)?" Now, there was one person in the match with a rainbow cruiser, but he was helping and for no reason should Mr. Troll be calling anyone that. As we continue along, he keeps on whining about how pathetic we are and that all four of us can barely help one transport (I can save a freightor all by myself, but apparently he doesn't pay enough attention).
One other player says "What is he whining about?" and I reply "No idea." Mr. Troll whines, yells, rages some more and then flies off about 60 km above the starbase. I tell the rest of the team that he's just farming our fleet marks now, and he says "what marks? I got all your points". I say "And what about those ones?" as a transport we saved without him warps away. He trolled on to the end of the match, we reported him to a GM, and he's got the exclusive honor of being only one of two people on my ignore list.
Well, I see a lot of peoples in ESTF's who aren't able to kill, as a Tac in an Escor,t 2 BoP in CSE or 4 probes in KSE. Worst I saw was an Tac in an Science Ship who did only 90.000 damage against the Assimilated Carrier.
The Neg'Vhars are still a problem for me in my advanced escort. To often they kill me with an Iso -.- My engie in the cruiser doesn't have a problem with that, but he needs to long kill them xD

HA! I hadn't thought of it like that. LOL!
Now if I could just get over this cold....

My favourite is "Rainbow Warriors". Just used it here.
No reward bag for me in sight.
To say the least, I was not a happy camper.
I gotta say I don't believe I've seen this happen before.

We may never know.
Agreed.
Those who DO know can show those who DON'T know how to do it.
Those who DON'T know can learn from those who DO know how to do it.

Wow, what a douchebag.
I'd love to frag that moron in a PvP queue.
I have to agree with this. Season 7 is like a flip kick in the nuts, the bright side is I will never have to do Cure stf again lol.
I've been reading that from an awful lot of people in the chat. Guess I better go read about it in the forum.
Cure is the most fun STF though, it's the only one there is actually a chance of failing at.
The only way to let 10 probes through the portal is if all 5 players are comatose. Any single player can prevent that from happening for an indefinite amount of time.
I have to agree with that. I do more CSN than any other STF. It's where the players show their true colors (with rainbow beams and skittle cannons!)
ROFLMAO :P
Cure is a fun STF, I actually find all STF's fun to a small degree. But the Cure seems to be the thorn in my side as of late.
I actually found Khitomer alot easier to do then the Cure, the only real hiccup with Khitomer is people like to butt hug Donatra.
