Cryptic doesn't have the resources to dedicate to klingon specific content... fine...
Here is how you create story content for all factions in 1 go:
Why not add something like the Nyberrite Alliance and let all factions do quests for them?
No need to create separate new content for factions, and any new factions automaticly have access to all the content, and the missions could give access to specific ships/items/skills that the factions normally can not get access to?
Kill multiple birds with one stone.
There is very little lore about them (about all we know is they are friendly to both the federation and klingons - perfect match?), so the devs should have no issues coming up with stories.
Would this not be win for everyone???

My vote goes for improve exploration, simply because it's about the only thing on the list which can actually add new game-mechanics. Adding content as either Romulans, new KDF content or new episodes just adds more of the same. So what that you can play as a Romulan, you'll still be doing all the exact same things you've been doing thusfar.
firstly, thank the maker that you brought offical polls back. i think 1 step better would be a pop up ingame voting system, link to the 1 on the forums or even you could send a notice in a bulletin maybe. make sure every one is aware of a chance to vote.
secondly, ROMULANS .... i hope they will have their own faction. oh and don't forget my T5+1 D'deridex warbird while your at it
Relax! We actually have a pretty good idea of what we are already doing and as much fun as this poll is, it is only representative of a small portion of our user base. There are many more players who will never vote on this poll. We take all of that into account as well as the huge amount of data we have on the back end when prioritizing our business.
Not to say that this poll is meaningless, it does help us confirm our internal priority order, but it is not like this poll is dictating the master schedule. It is you voicing your concern over what is need most so we can ensure we're on the same page. So far, the voting is almost entirely what I expected (with the exception of Exploration)
Put in a ingame poll then if you want a more broader player base view of what people want, cant say that it will differ much from the forums poll tho as im betting if any of them have played for more than 6 months they will probably side with the forum peoples vote.
Or a email customer feedback newsletter which is sent to all the members of the game.
Its the only way to really know and get the data you need to make a decision. As even tho im sure the devs have good intentions and good ideas. It is best to probably go with what the actual people who play the game are after.

Btw about factions and tutorials. Make the tutorials factionless specific i.e it really doesnt matter what race you are, the tutorial would be the same and teach the same things regardless if your fed, dominion, or klingon etc. Something that doesnt have any specific race in the tutorials guiding you either but instead lets say Q does it or a hologram. Would solve alot of faction problems down the road if this game does go multi faction i.e the major races and a combined non military race which any race can join that doesnt work with a government i.e trader etc.
We will take a lookt at Kerrat and see if the mission will allow us to communicate the map reset differently so that you don't de-cloak when the contact pops up.
Why not make ALL BO responses just message sliders?
It's not like they have anything less than obvious to say.
For example, when I'm asked to defend the Starbase, I don't need to be told this after each ship I blow up.
I would have spaced the lot long ago if possible because they can't shut up.
All I know is Cryptic and PWE will never see another dime from me if the KDF faction is not finished and they release any other faction.

Well, one thing is clear: there are 2 things that they need to focus on in 2012; Romulans and KDF. Regarding the latter, I'd like to suggest they make a KDF themed FE series. Maybe it could be centered around a Gorn rebellion and take place in KDF space. This would provide KDF themed content but also be playable by everyone else.

So...your saying klingons arent loyal because by the time they get to unlock the faction they are to invested in their federation character?
Just allow the option for kdf to be a start faction, heck in its current form you run around first city for like 5 minutes and gain 3 levels almost just talking to npcs...it could be done for level 1, infact place in new tutorials for both fed and kdf, have the kdfs level them to 10 by the time the tutorial is over, walk around the city talk to npcs bam level 20...maybe toss in a space mission or something as well...not a full 1-20 quest line like federation currently has..problem solved...and I still say theres so few kdf not because of the unlocking feature but because people dont find the faction interesting. Just like loyal klingon fans dont find cardassians or romulans interesting...it happens. I prefer baseball over football or basketball...same thing,
I held off playing STO for a long time; until it became F2P. There are a few things I hold near and dear as a TNG/DS9 fan.
First I'd like to ask if more retro ships are on the list for STO like the Ambassador Class and Constellation Class. Those are some of my favorites.
Also, will there be more opportunities to get rare playable ships, like the Cardassian Galor Class Cruiser? I didn't start playing until after the event ended.
What would be even better is make the Cardassians playabe. I'd rather have them as a playable faction then the Romulans

I'm all for a Romulan faction, what they call the Mogai escort is the most beatiful ship in Star Trek. But what's the point if there's just the possibility of having a Romulan or a Reman with like 2 Tier 5 ships and just a few costume options? Still not a working PvP? Still the same PvE?
Finish the KDF is not just the missions for the first 20 levels, it's adding ships, costume options. I'd even be for more races, say renegades from their people, that would open up a lot of possibilities.
(At that point, finally fixing PvP is necessary.)
Then, ideally, add the Romulans with the same treatment, PvE, PvP, ships, costumes...

I am not a KDF or Fed player. I am a player. I have toons in both factions, I would consider having one if another faction came up later.
Part of why some players want a fully leveled KDF is because then they could start play as KDF and skip being a Fed because they are unlike me, they came only for KDF content.
I have run into many Klingon toons, along with gorn, orion, and alien toons. The same as I have run into many human, vulcan, and aliens on the Fed side. Part of being in a faction that has multiple races is so people can have multiple choices, so why shoud people only be Klingon? I personally did choose to be a full Klingon rather then chooseing an alien like I did on the Fed side. Person taste, for anyone.
I will skip on saying anything about PvP.
I do not hear players saying there should not be a Romulan faction. I recall one negative post on them. One. I have read a few posts that mirror my thoughts. That playable race and Full faction are completely different. That if they do not complete the First non Federation faction then it makes it VERY easy for them to skimp and cut corners on any future faction. Would you want a mini faction where your life was dictated by the Humans, or worse where all commands came from the KDF? Does the idea of being relegated to a minor race sound appealing?

I'm starfleet all the way, but we need some more honorable opponents. Balance-wise I think we need to fix the KDF before we add Romulans. Personally, I want updated crafting, but the KDF need attention more. More featured episodes are a close second. I like sets and all, but some more unusual items like the Devidian series might be nice, or a set that makes your ship behave differently than normal (such as consoles that have abilities or "modes"). Getting a shuttle or ship from a featured episode would be awesome as well.
I agree, first the KDF must be a fraction like the fed. Should cryptic bring the romulans earlier i see a catastrophe. Romulans will be playable with lvl 40 and has 3 ships. The PVE would be a catastrophe like the PVP for them and and or they bring a full romulan fraction like the Federation and i would ask me, why can cryptic not the same for the KDF. We have 2 Fractions in STO and at the moment is this enough. We dont need a third fraction. The third Fraction can come, when are the 2 exists fraction are complete and that is not the case.

Would you want a mini faction where your life was dictated by the Humans, or worse where all commands came from the KDF? Does the idea of being relegated to a minor race sound appealing?

I'm cloaked. I didn't ask for this update. I wasn't even scanning nodes. Why should I have to drop out of cloak for this update from my officer?

I'm starfleet all the way, but we need some more honorable opponents. Balance-wise I think we need to fix the KDF before we add Romulans. Personally, I want updated crafting, but the KDF need attention more. More featured episodes are a close second. I like sets and all, but some more unusual items like the Devidian series might be nice, or a set that makes your ship behave differently than normal (such as consoles that have abilities or "modes"). Getting a shuttle or ship from a featured episode would be awesome as well.
