Scheduled Maintenance (August 30, 2012)

Hi Captains,

We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, August 30th, at 7AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to only last for 2 hours.

Appreciate the update Brandon, these patch notes look great. Would you happen to know if the fleet tribble will ever be usable by bridge officers? At the moment it can only be equip to the captain when the captain is on a ground map. Thanks.

Gotta do that maintenance to remove another method of Dilithium acquisition. You already limit the amount that can be effectively used per day. What does it matter how we acquire it?

I hope this also fixes the launcher pad patcher error many of us are getting since yesterday and even day before.

and still no fix for the alt-tab crash....

come on cryptic, how many more times must i crash the game out and send in an error ticket before it gets fixed?

and branflakes, this isn't trolling

i really can't alt-tab out of the game without it crashing when i try to return to it

Its something with your system, or maybe with your system interacting with the something in the game. I alt-tab constantly (tend to read while I'm in sector space and load screens) and have never once had a crash.

I'm currently unable to connect to the launcher. Is this going to fix it as im told that the reason this is happening is due to the fact im not connected to the internet.
Obviously im connected to the internet as I am on it now.

try changing your settings in game...

in video settings, change it to 'Windowed Maximized', that should allow you to move in and out of the game without a problem... it's the only way i found to get it working right on a tri-monitor system, so i could move between monitors and keep the game up

All Duty Officers obtained from the Fleet Exchange can once more be contributed to Fleet Projects.

This change is retroactive, and will allow all existing versions of these items to be contributed, as well as any obtained in the future.

Hahahaha you've had it a day or so try from the 12th August

. That's how long I've not been able log in mate. It's not my PC/Laptop as I've formatted and reinstalled my laptop and same issue.

Oh well I'd there's a fix awesome if not fixed by next week I'll just go back to EVE for a few months and try again. Im a lifer so I'll just come back to a few thousand zen and try again.

Haven't seen any server announcements, yet. Please check if that is activated, Cryptic. Always annoying when one forget the time and just missed a nice stf reward.

I was a bit too early with writing above, I've seen the in-game announcements.

have you tried using the minimize button at the top right of your screen, I had a problem with Alt-tabbing in and out, but since using minimise I have yet to crash once.

When are we going to get customizable hotkeys and hotkey bars? I want to be able to put specific commands onto a hotkey easier than using /bind commands that are way too complicated. I want to be able to set up colored skills easier. Please and thank you.

But why do you want to use alt+tab? Choose maximized window in graphic options and press windows button to do other stuff, like browsing, check stuff and so on...
Just curious, i know the alt-tab bug, but there is this "workaround"...

instead of going through and doing /bind bindkey 0 1 bla bla bla chatfunction 000x000000e 1011110000001100111011000001001000 function:positive; inlay px 150x150

Dilithium rewards granted for dismissing any Duty Officer have been reduced.

New rewards are as follows:
[*] White: 1
[*] Green: 10
[*] Blue: 25
[*] Purple: 50

Lol... You might as well just nerf everything at once, so you can get it completely out of your system.

I would rather get hit with a sword at full force than have it being slowly pulled out of my chest.

Even though this dilithium reward reduction was minor, the act itself adds up with the other rewards, ships, weapons, and kit nerfings.

Is "Star Trek: Online" an actual game?

Use this:

/bind T "team Target: >> $target <<"

The sentence can be modified as you wish, like the key, leave only "team" and, especially, "$target", which is a variable to define your actual target.

No mention of fixing the crash to desktop that occurs since the patch every time I go between ground/space or space/ground. It's happened frequently to others and to me every frigging time. If I join an STF from a ground map I'm MIA while I reload the game. Tour the Galaxy takes longer when beaming up means a crash each run as well.

I've asked in chat and seen how people appear in a STF after a delay while they've been disconnected so it isn't my system. Checking all files/changing proxies does nothing either. Please focus on the server stability before nerfing gameplay.

I hope it fixes the Accounts not showing charged accounts as inactive.. and starts paying out the Stipends.. i'm owed two months of stipends.. now.. the timer stopped at 701 days was fixed now its showing 720 days inactive. .this has ben a poor month. .the last patch crashes so much. .i thought i was in alpha beta for some other mmo

System information Tools DX Field test shows everything good Togo here and games that require the same or more special TLC work better then Cryptic .. so what gives?

Hey. A patch that fixes problems, is a good patch. You wouldn't want a game with insane amounts of content.. that nobody can use.
