Free Zen offers

In the vain hope that I would see some of this "free zen" so beautifully advertised like a piece of Ferengi art on every page in the forum, I took up several offers, and am now the proud participant in surveys regarding sock selection, the owner of a delighful herbal tea package, and will soon experience my first hull extension *guaranteed to leave you satisfied*.

Okay, that might not be "exactly" what I went for, but you get the point.

Unfortunately, despite having followed, and dutifully signed up my spam folder for another wave of emails (same email as the account is linked to, just to be clear), I have yet, several days later, to see a single zen point, free or otherwise.

I'm assuming this must be a problem with my account, but can others confirm that they have been able to benefit from this, or is it essentially, a PWE scam? I don't mind going through the hassle of clearing out my inbox, and remembering to unsubscribe from Lobe Lube deals, but only if I'm actually going to see those aforementioned "free" zen points.

Don't need to. Search the forums for free zen and you can see discussion about this.

edit: Actually surprised you got along that far. Last I knew, they were still having issues with linking accounts. Many folks where getting a "You don;t have a level 10 character" error when they tried to do that stuff.

edit: Just realized that we can;t search for zen on the forums. Sorry about that. Some links though from a google search:

There's more if you follow that google search.

    Thanks for the links.

The issue I've had is a little different - though I grant my flippancy might not have helped with clarity. I kind of guessed that some of the survey ones would prove to be duff - and avoided them in favour of a couple of the deals (Netflix, and a couple of credit sites), but still didn't get any Zen, despite going through with everything.

On the "Earn Zen" Page is a link to the support.
Use it and file reports there, you can attach a prove via images or mail, and see what happens then.

The sponsors are really bad at paying out ...

I have only occasionally had problems with zen, with some surveys not paying out and stuff, but usually they do pay out. I would have expected at least one of your surveys to pay out. Of course, different surveys have different pay out schedules. Did you check the line under the surveys that say "this offer pays in x-y [insert time frame here]"? Maybe that could explain why they haven't paid out yet.

Of course, due to their simplicity and quick pay out schedule, I usually stick to videos.

Assuming this is the Peanut Labs ones...

Almost all of the "Earn ZEN through Offers" have been TRIBBLE for me. NONE of the "sign up" offers have paid, including the ones that want you to sign onto a third party survey company - even though those companies themselves are fairly reputable, there's some critical flaw preventing it from registering as a success. Or it's a huge scam.

The only 2 Offers that cleared was installing a Facebook App for 50 Zen and watching a CM for 3 Zen. A few of my friends already had and used that Facebook App, so I figured it was ok. The CM was only 1:30 minutes selling Tetley water or something.

The "Earn ZEN through Surveys" have all worked for me, assuming I qualify for the survey. I've made over 300 Zen going through them when I'm bored.

I'm definitely of the 'don't be afraid to file a support ticket' category. Most pay out easy and quickly, others need prompting.

Here's the ones I've had success with (please not this is NOT an endorsement of any particular offer, product or survey - care should be taken on anything involving your details, and especially money)

Whoa, you basically got $10 for signing up to get a free month with Netflix? That's a fairly solid and well known company there...

Shame I don't seem to have that offer on my list. :(

Something to watch for with a lot of the surveys, most of them have a qualifying section to see if you're in the right demographic for the survey. I've found a few of those qualifying sections are pretty big - you can sink 5-10 minutes into one only to be spit back out with 0 point.

Yep.. it's kind of rediculous you're not told you're taking a survey to find out if you're qualifying for a survey.

These are just terrible wastes of time. I get disqualified from almost every survey because I'm a 30 year old white male, married, but with no kids.

Apparently my opinion is never wanted under any circumstances from the PWE offers.

You all realize you can take surveys for real money and use that to buy zen. In my city, surveys pay around $75 - $200 a pop, but you usually have to go into the place of business to take them. I've found (in the US anyways) they are available in great abundance.

Certainly less hassle than the Zen advertisements and pay is guaranteed, sometimes even in advance.

I am also someone who takes up offers in the chance that I actually get Zen for doing so, only to fight with the support teams who want photo proof of a transaction taking place and saying if you prove that this happened then in 48 hours you will receive your Zen, yeah whatever.

This is just a huge joke and something needs sorting about it, there are people out there who refuse to use a credit card due to fear of fraud, who take this option up and begin to thank god they didn't use their credit cards after all!

The free offers do pay. I have learned how ever that with the officers that on the first page get rid of the peanut labs offer telling you what to do for how much zen that those ones never pay. And sometimes it takes several days to get paid. Basically only do the offers that don't erase the peanut labs bar.

I've actually earned about 350 yen doing the Peanut Surveys over the last two weeks...

All while not giving out my Email or any real pertinent info.

It's not much, but for a few minutes time it's worth it.

These survey scams are as old as the moon. Ever go to those "get paid to take survey" sites? you spend 10 minutes and answer about 90% of the questions to find out you "Don't Qualify for the Demographic" right, because they already got all they needed from you....

That said, I DO occassionally do them when I am bored, or while waiting for patches, or drinking beer, or whatever when I'm not up to something. Today for instance, while waiting for my 3gb prepatch, I did some healthcare survey and netted like 175 zen, so yeah, occassionally you do get lucky.

Yea I agree, I spent 45 min filling out a survey and at the end it said I did not qualify for free zen... WHY? I do not know but I will not worry about the free zen now and just continue to play and buy mine with dylithium. I king of figured that when they mentioned about the free zen by doing the survey it was going to be like facebook lol.

The Zen thing is really more of a marketing gimmick. I spent quite a while doing the surveys and at the end, the message appears saying: Your survey has been stored. It is then followed by: Congratulations, you have won 0 Zen! Perfect way of ripping us off, eh?

after you fill out surveys and get your zen, double check your "my account" section, you will have to transfer zen from the site to your sto account.

so far i've received at least 700 zen from surveys. but they do tend to get annoying when you go so far then you don't qualify.

but it's free so just deal with it.

I've been messing around with the free survey's off and on for about a week now, most of the I either don't qualify or the page wont load. But I have gotten up to 807 zen, granted most of the was to a car insurance survey.

I'm currently working toward being able to get the Armitage, but since there is nothing really for me to do in-game I am not exactly in a hurry. Not to mention that since I don't plan to ever give Cryptic or PW any of my money this is really the only way for me to get Zen, the Dilithium exchange being TRIBBLE in my opinion.

I agree 100%. Most of the time you provide them a lot of answers then you are out with 0 points. Seems to me you should get % based on % answered. Regardless of what they say looks to me they are getting the information they need/want...then you are out. On the other side I have received from time to time free Zen. Free Zen = Free Key = 1.7 million EC.

Hey Cryptic OR Perfect World or whatever you are.

Just wasted an hour filling out survey and stuff thinking I would be able to get some Zen and I got nothing at all. I tried with Firefox before but since I use NoScript it was to much of an hassle to do those things. So today I decided to use Internet Explorer thinking it would work better but finally I wasted an hour of my time for nothing, NOT A SINGLE ZEN credited. If you're going to do promo and survey and stuf, at least make sure those survey and all work correctly. As it is I'm not doing anymore survey or anything, completly useless for now. As it is now I think I'm only gonna have a bunch of spam in my mailbox for nothing at all.
