Though I understand the need for such actions from the development team: locate, address and, correct such issues, it is the lack of information before hand; not knowing when those actions' take place, may or may not upset some of the subscribers of the Star Trek Online community.

...really? They do this every Thursday at the same time. What's not predictable about that?

I've been waiting for about 1 hour and 30 minutes so far.

    Maintinence time extended just great.

Now i understand it needs to be done, n even tho it happens during the only two hours i get to play thur to sun in my timezone (gotta get ready for work in an hour), but i can understand it needs doing.

That said thanx to the extention i guess i am not gonna get to play at all today, it comes up 30mins before i gotta go n then i gotta patch so will have maybe 15mins to play, just spec-bleedin-tacular. I plan on having an hour to play due to the patching, but i get 15 lousy mins, not enough time to get anything done

Why does it always have to be during eu primetime, i understand it needs doing, but can't the times be varied week to week a bit so us eu players r not gettin constantly shafted by the timing?

While i'm on the subject any info on what these 'general stability' fixes actually are, bcuz if some of the annoying long term bugs r finally getting sorted would be nice to know which ones.

    My crew needs it's Captain!
Bring in a security engineer! No, wait. Bring two, so we can short-circuit the talk about this being impossible.

You need to fix your timing on maintaince. You said it would be done 9AM it wasn't, you estimate is usually at least an hour off. so please stop lying to us on when it's done. It's very annoying to fire it up seeing maintaince schedule for such and such time PDT. I look at my clock and since I'm an hour ahead of PDT it's after (am so I'm like sweet. then boom can't get on.

    Agree there.

They are probably changing everything over to zen which is why it is taking so long.

There is something called making the update, then patching it, then letting players patch, and they can play again..

Another thing.. how hard is getting stability? 2:30 hours?.. *facepalm*

Honestly what they should do is a pull a scotty.
I.E Advertise that it will take longer than it actually would.

Software isn't easy, especially when you have a bunch of whiners on your back. Chill out, be patient, and remember that it's down for 2-3 hours *once* per *week*.

Seriously, first world problems or what..

why take it down during the hours posted??? this is 10-noon east coast??? 8-10 in my zone???

I like to check my status in the am and then get to work not the best timing for "maintenance"

why not schedule this for early am???

The time they scheduled it for is the time that the development staff is already at work, which is best if a problem occurs, they have the most qualified people on-site and ready to go rather than having to wake someone up, get them to work, brief them, then finally address the problem. Further, they don't have to change their schedules once every week and they don't have to have a full staff working the night shift just for the once a week update. Besides, this particular time is early morning to someone. No matter what happens, someone's gonna get the update at 5:00 in the evening.

Now THAT'S the kind of thinking that would make Cryptic less than a 7-letter curse word in some vocabularies.

In other news: Some dev left his Tribble in the Server room and they now have to sanitize and defurr the servers. This is the reason for the extra delay.

Spock: I understand we are having trouble with warp drive. How long will repairs take?

Scotty: There's nothing wrong with the thing!

Spock: If we return to starbase, the assassins will dispose of their incriminating footwear and we will never see Captain Kirk or Doctor McCoy again.

    Scotty: Could take weeks sir!

Sorry, your post reminded me so much of this. And why can I still not log on?! It's 17:17 UTC now and I cant even log on, let alone load the patch. Sorry to be a pest Cryptic but this is seriously annoying.
