Was camping in the open one night in the San Bernardino National Forest. Exhausted after a busy day sleep claimed me with ease. I dremt that I was at home petting my cat as I slept but it's purr possessed a harsh gravel tone and it's fur was very coarse to my touch. Then I realized that while I was asleep it was not an actual dream.
I woke to see a pair of black beady eyes separated by a white stripe that terminated in a sharp point where it's nose should be staring down at me from it's perch on the center of my chest. I thought if it has not bit, nor spayed me yet if I jump up and run away it sure will. With consideration that the skunky creature curled up on my chest was being amiable I thought it was in my best interest to return the favor. I kept petting it as I passed back out. I woke in the morning grateful that I did not stink.
