Ok.. found and fixed what I think was the last bug that was failing this mission and the transport raid incorrectly....

Should be out to you soon.... just watch the patch notes... I'm guessing you'll see the fix in the next couple weeks... it was a hard one to find, sorry it took a while... there was just a 1 where there should have been a 0... literally :)
Sounds like the Bynars were up to no good! Thanks for stopping their dastardly plan!

    :D

Out of curiosity, why would it take "weeks" to get this to Holodeck?

Its the way software projects are structured. They have "versions" of the code that they work on, and each version has a deadline to get "checked in" to a patch so it can go through playtesting and other such checks.

Sometimes there are windows open where code can get checked into a tribble patch quickly (usually around a major patch) but other times the next scheduled "version" isn't set to be pushed out for a while.

Its bad practice to go into a "closed" version thats already in QA testing and such to add a fix unless its quite urgent or time sensitive. And while this is a pretty annoying bug, its not urgent enough to warrant such a "quick" patch or a hot fix.

Note: I have no insider knowledge of Cryptic's operations, this was just based on my general knowledge of the industry,

Just tried these today. Very fun, but I came to the conclusion that if you wanted to complete the option part you needed a team(2 or more)to get it done. Kind of remind me of fed patrol missions.

That is basically the idea. Those without a team who are more tactical spec'd can solo it, but others need a team to complete the optional objectives. According to Gozer he's going to do a set that is easier for Cruiser/Carrier Capt. in the Psi Velorum sector when he gets the free time.

the way i did it was to team up with a lower level person squad down to them and play that way. i got to 4 transprts by myself on pi canis one and when i was looting #5 one of the ships warped away making it 1 too many.

Somewhere in the thread I read that the freighters were supposed to turn friendly when disabled so your autofire stopped pounding them.

    This doesn't happen for me.

Looks like the fix went into today's patch; I finally got through it (Eriksson mission) looting 5 of the freighters without the "fail" condition coming up for freighters that have left the map.

    Good Stuff!

As Lt 8 I find both of these impossible to do (the optional parts). The missions themselves are easy enough, its the optional parts of getting 5 transports in the raid and 4 transports in the medical raid.

Heaven forbid I should get someone to help me too. I think I must have asked five times...

I developed a Strategy that is able to do with a Dual Cannon or DHC equipped Cruiser.

Wtih Ericksoon, what I like to do is cloak, head to the middle group and get close enough that im still outside aggro range of the Patrol group thats above the shielded dome. Buff up and decloak, attacking the middle group's transport and taking it out and firing at the freighters as they approach. You loot them and evasive over to the group departing off to the right. Depends how close they are to the beacon you have to decide to attack the transports or the escort.

With a Raptor, its very doable to get all 8 transports done.

With the Transport Raid, with a BoP or Raptor you can take the shields fast of the first group and perhaps loot one of them before you are in range with the first Federation starships.

If you are in a Cruiser, best you run up to the second group and use warp plasma, boarding parties, and/or tractor beams to delay them as you fight the 2 Federation ships.

With Lower Ranks, I'm honestly not sure if its balanced or not to pull it off. Tractor Beams might be good enough to buy you enough time.

BTW Gozer, that Video lag is still present at the Erickson Base.

The video lag isn't something we can repro... we don't see it here, of course we all use Nvida cards at work... could just be your card... dunno, but we can't make it happen here.

This is anecdotal, but I've been hit with a lag spike so severe that I actually got disconnected from the server.

hd 4870, and I experience a drop in DPS as well while flying by the array there, while doing the fed patrol.

GTX 460 1 gig, i too have that lag, it just pauses for a second or two and then resumes.

also the uhm... thingies on the side of the station are badly targatable.

I get this on my 260m card as well. That array is pretty much the only thing that gives me lag quite like that - even a zone with over 20 other players doesn't lag spike like that.

Gah! That's a big problem, surely??? I work in Web Commerce and we take great pains to replicate customer environments. This ties in with the ATI dynamic lighting crash fiasco, no?

Just FYI Gozer - I experience what the other user is talking about too on my desktop PC (Nvidia GTX260 video card); but I don't think it's viseo lag per se. As I approach the Erikson 'array/base' as some point my system does a long hard drive read and seems to be loadin extra textures. For a couple of seconds the video on the screen seems frozen; and after the hard drive access is complete - there a bit of a jump as the stuff on screen 'catches up'; and the mission proceeds normally. I keep my hard disk well cared for and have defraged mltiple times since I first encountered this in the Erikson mission; and it the only STO mission where I've seen something like this.

It also happens with the Erikson mission on my ASUS gamiing laptop (Nvidia 460M video card).

Dunno what to say, Gozer. But has to be something if others experience the same thing, even when using Nvidia cards. (Mine being a cheap 9400gt card).

O.O You *ALL* use nVidias? No wonder it's hard to repdroduce ATI bugs.

Hey, dstahl, how about ordering up a few ATI cards and stuffing them in the about half of the guys' machines? :D

So... I've been trying to do these in my Carrier, and continuously running up against a wall. However; today I finally succeeded at completing the Erikkson option objective.

Sort of. I'm almost certain this has been mentioned upthread, but it's 18 pages and more evidence surely cannot hurt anything:

What the Funk and Wagnalls is going on here?

Ok, technically I already know what's going on here, but I'm feeling annoyed.

    *edit*

Including the objective box in close-up, so it's easier on the eyes.

I ahve a feeling Gozer's fixes to the mission that were completed haven't gone in yet (at least I have seem the fixes mention in ant Tribble or Holodeck patch notes; unless I did miss something - why it is honestly taking so long I don't know); or if they have, unfortunately, there still seems to be an unresoved bug remaining :(

I also notice this stutter/pause on the erickson mission when first flying past the station but I have also notice the following.

I warp in, click the ops messages then cloak and full impulse past the station to the group that is behind the station in relation to where you warp in.
I pass the station on the right had side so the station is on my left and notice this 1 second lag/stutter/pause only the first time, once it has happened no more pauses are encountered during the mission.
Yesterday I did the same mission but I did not full impulse I just flew at full throttle and I did not get the pause.

Are other people seeing the same, do you fly at full impulse, if so maybe try not using full impulse and see if it stops the pause.

Guess the STO programming couldn't comprehend a Carrier actually accomplishing the objectives and it overloaded? :p

I've had a few issues with these two missions myself most chiefly being this. After barely successfully raiding all four freighters before they warped out I still get a mission failure. I hadn't don this mission again since till the other day when my Lt. Commander Friend and I ran it (i was a captain 5 matching level) and to our annoyance the civilian escorts were damage sinks. Even with me unmatching level and going full Captain 4 agro on them with their Lt. Commander 5 or so levels they wouldn't go below 50% health. There is something very wrong with these missions.
