I don't think I've seen anyone post that they've used gravity well to slow the transports down- works great(also damages their hulls while they still have shields).
Just need to be careful not to have the fed ships escorting the transports explode in the gravity well while you have transports there with low to no shields- starts a nice chain reaction that destroys every last transport....:eek:
Any kind of challenge is gone from these missions now, now theyre just free emblems like every other mission
Well, the sorties alone are free emblems galore. And as far as challenge goes, not like Eriksson was hard if you grabbed a partner. Ideally a lower level partner and matched their level.
Nor could you expect the challenge to stick for a simple reason. They needed to be attainable by the lowest DPS/ worst turning ship with the lowest DPS background captain. And that will be something like the carrier or the Gorn sci ship with an engineering captain, both of which are sufficiently disadvantaged in their own way that most other ships will be able to accomplish it with ease, even with a suboptimal build and/or captain at the helm. In a bug free environment, of course.
For me, the challenge wasn't in getting the bonus objective (though I don't bother grinding emblems with my carrier), not once I perfected my strategies, anyway. The challenge is in getting as many freighters as I can for extra loot.
I would like to see alternate versions of PotW though, set up with a shared timer and offering higher rewards...ones that require you to run on advanced or elite. That way, it could be attainable for all, but the challenge is out there for those with higher DPS set ups.
I ALWAYS loot 4 freighters including the two in shield, yet the optional mission objective always fails, either because the other side freighters warp out or there's a time limit as I could not find them the last time I played it.
The bugs should all be fixed, they have been fixed since before the Christmas break, however the fixes are in the big patch with the Azura Remaster and the Aniversery Stuff, so you're waiting on all that other stuff to get finished and out to you.
I'll double check this weekend, but I'm pretty sure they are on Tribble right now.
Ok.. just checked Erikkson... and it's still failing when it's not supposed to... since this is still broken, the Transport Raid is probably still borked as well... I'll see if I can a fix out to you soon...
So I just checked the interal build and my fixes for this are there and working... so it's fixed it's just somehow not made a Tribble or Holodeck build yet...
I'll find out why on Monday...
Here is the info on that fix though....
If you want to complete the optional peices... you not only have to loot 4 of the frieghters, you also have to refrain from blowing them up after you loot them as well... if you blow one up after you loot it, it will still count as a "Death" for the overall map... so you need to loot and keep from blowing up 4 frieghters to complete the optional objective...
This works the same way on the Transport Raid.... so let them leave after you loot them, or it will still fail...
Could the looted freighters get a different colored halo around them so we know which ones we have already done? I currently look for the Hull level, but not having to target them to find out would help.
THANK YOU!! letting them leave and not make me fail is the fix i've been wait for cuz as a klingon you shouldnt care what happens to the freighter after you rob it of the good stuff.
