It's not something GMs are going to fix.

If they decide to reward it retroactively it'll probably be done as a database query.

The option to retroactive a mission is actually quite above a GM's decision :p So yeah, i wouldn't worry about what they said let stormy do his thang and hope for the best :)

Glad I waited a few days before diving into the missions. :D

A good compromise to all those Klingon's who didn't get it would be to add the reward to an upcoming weekly mission.

    Hey gang,

    Here's the update:

We'll be putting in an NPC who will give players the unique item "Shard of Kahless" if they did not get the item, and have created the appropriate mission. He will give this item to each character once, so don't lose it once you get it! :p

As for the rest of the mission reward items, such as the efficient Impulse engines, we will not be retroactively granting those in any way. However, we will be making sure that there is another way for you to get those items, most likely through the emblem or mark stores. So, while you won't get the mission reward, you will have access to all the same rewards (or better!) through another channel.

    Thanks,

    Stormshade

I really hope that "or better" part means we will have some Efficient engines that are above rank IV.

It is cool to see this added for all the leveling klinks.
I still don't get how anyone thinks these are worth using after Tier 4 at the most.
I hope we don't end up with a fleet of lumbering bops with 5 more power in shields. lol

Thanks again for adding them though I'm going to level an eng klink next and will be glad to use them in the lower tiers. :)

Ye dang well better get something in there...we don't have the highest level of love for you all right now...well until you get us our promised ships (which I would love to see pics of btw). I would hate to have to take your promised cookies away....

Stay busy working on that Klingon side...well ships and the rewards...and we'll be a bit happier.. :D

Heh, you do realize if they create a "or better" engine, the Feds will ***** and cry and moan, if they doesnt get it as well :D

(Not that they shouldnt have access to the same gear we do, but it would be fun, considering theyve had the MK IV Efficient since launch :D)

Well, since I imagine one of the primary reasons the KDF was given access to this engine was due to "***** and cry and moan" I can hope that they learned that both sides need to be given equivalent opportunities. Besides the implication was that it was going to end up in one of the in-game token shops and aren't those pretty identical for both sides?

That particular item was always part of the quests, even on Tribble, and wasn't bugged, and went in smoothly, and I'm not sure I remember any feedback from anyone missing out on that item.

It's the items that were added AFTER 2.0 went live that people missed out on.

So I'm not exactly sure I see how this is a relevant fix to the issue brought up by the players. Nobody was missing out on the bat'leth reward. They were missing out on rewards added after the patch launched.

That's a very odd and confusing response to the issue.

I still don't see why anyone likes them. Maybe for carriers though, since they will never get benefit from speed or maneuverability.

Because for everything but an escort type (and depending how your BoP is set up, even for BoPs), power matters more than speed.

I am not sure the +5 to weapons, shields and AUX are worth being that slow.

Meh I rolled a new Klingon Friday, and now I'm commander 3, so the gear is kind of obsolete already- i'm on Tier VI blues now.

I never understood why people are so hot for mid level gear when it become obsolete in just a few days.

Lets see... its the only engine that gives bonus power and +5 to all powers cept engines is pretty good thats a bonus +15 power which is nice:D . I use it on my battlecruiser and this is an ideal engine as battlecruisers get +10 innate bonus to engine power and yes I am slower with this engine then a top tier one but this is an advantage it means I keep the enemy in my forward firing disruptor arcs longer, when using a mark 10 engine i usually have to run at half impulse or less anyway just to stop overshooting on an attack run, with this engine I can run at full power and not overshoot a target and having max engine performance and efficency because im flying a battlecruiser my engine power is around 60 by default anyway.
Wouldn't recommend this engine on an escort though you need a fast engine to give you the escape speed when you want to get out of the fight and heal or chase that cruiser that decides that it isn't a good day to die

You go into combat with max engines???? Besides in a cruiser you want him at your side, not in your forward arcs. It's better to go with turn rate on a cruiser and thus in side arcs where you can bring more beams to bear.

Maybe the game has changed a lot since the first month, but basic physics of cruisers is tanking, thus keeping shields to max and bringing guns to bear through turning is essential. I found early on the game a cruiser could tank anything solo easily by simply max shielding and rotating in postion without moving (just hold down left arrow key) and thus constantly rotate the targets into max fields of fire while keeping shields full.

I see cruisers all the time tanking forward like you suggest in the warzone and I just dont get it. Spin and shoot is much more effective and efficient for tanking and taking down a target.

Being stationary gives you a negative defense penalty which translates to the enemy getting a crit severity bonus.

I'm aware of that, but it is neglible compared to the defense bonus of rotated shields....and you can spin at full throttle as well.

for Bops set up to maximize dammage not so much (imo).
A cruiser though would benefit from these types of engines.

What the... I so wanted the efficient engines reward on my Klingon and then they put it in and I still can't get it. Cryptic just seems to love to irritate me.

Actually, if you want to Maximize damage, the efficient would be better. The higher above 125 you can buff your Weapon power, the lower the drain when you fire your energy weapons. The ideal damage setup would be for your weapon power to drop to exactly 125 when you fire, giving your weapons the maximum possible damage while firing.

Also, since Aux tends to buff some other stuff (like debuffs, i.e. Sensor Scan, Tachyon Beam) a higher Aux value can definitely help your damage as well.

Given its dismal speed, I'm not yet convinced of its benefit, besides I'm already at 123 before buffing and really do find the snail pace to be a detriment.

It's a great choice for a cruiser. They're not about speed as it is.

There's a reason why fed-side cruiser captains still equip this at Vice Admiral.

Anyways, am I the only one who noticed the irony of Stormshade's post?

The issue of people being locked out of these rewards is solved by them promising to make the Bat'Leth ...the reward everyone was already getting because it worked fine on Tribble ... available through an NPC you talk to?

That's like complaining that Aid the Planets aren't giving out proper rewards, and so the fix will be to make more batteries drop in Enemy Confrontations!
