Ya, i'm actually excited to get home and pew pew at the new thing, and being the sick individual I am, I can't wait to see the new threads about it.

It's amazing how many of them I see in PvP matches now. The best part is knowing that I've never seen most of these guys before, they bought the Gal-X because they thought that the cloak made all of the difference in PvP. So they load up their ships, jump into a match expecting to dominate, and fail miserably.

That's not to say that some of them don't know what they're doing, there are some... but damn. Cryptic is not going to put up anything on the C Store that is better than what you get ingame anyway. It's not better, just different. ;)

While I do respect that actions speak louder than words... I hope that you will find Season 2 to be a step in the right direction for the Klingon Faction.

The team has spent a tremendous amount of time on Klingon Costume options, Some kick-TRIBBLE new episodes, and entire enemy group solely as a nemesis for the Klingons, as well as the fact that you'll be able to play the same Episodes the Feds are getting.

So from where I'm sitting, Klingons are getting more content in this update than the Feds are.

Our plan moving forward after launch was to ensure that new content had equal footing with Feds.

I'll be the first in this forum to talk about it if that ever changes...

I am excited for Season 2 and I'm really happy with all of the effort that yall have been putting into it, and I want to thank yall for it.

However, I'm not excited about the news that Destra posted that the Federation has more cloaking coming in the future, the Galaxy-X is already causing a lot of frustration with cloaked standoffs in Arenas.....

It's not so bad if you think about it like submarine warfare instead. Have one BoP on your team spec'd to reveal cloakers (or not, it works either way), have him out as bait, hit sensor scan occasionally (if he's sci, works great because it acts like a beacon), cluster around him. When they decloak, slap them with a Scramble Sensors, have the ASW BoP hit evasive, cloak, and you guys clean up. I've tried this once so far, pretty successfully.

Yeah in premades that works out just fine, but for pugs it's useless because it's likely that nobody will want to play bait and the group might not even have a healer or a scanner....

EDIT: The exception is if you have a carrier in the Klingon pug as they are default bait in that case, but there is no telling how far Cryptic will go with Federation cloaking, first it's escorts then people will say that they want it on their science, and then they will rationalize it on the cruisers because the Galaxy-X already has it.......

I really can't wait for Season 2 to come out, I have been wanting to play a Klingon since beta but have not done so due to the faction being strictly pvp. So I am really hopeing for content to level up other than pvp. Don't get me wrong I have done alot of pvp not in STO but in other games its just not 100% my bottle of Romulan Ale :) Hope to see you guys soon!

    Federation gets THIS.

    So, what do Klingons get?

The short end of the stick...AGAIN...

I have always thought those who said that Cryptic wants to drive Klingon players out, and have only Federation players, were a little crazy. However, I can no longer state such. The inclusion of this strongly supports their assertion.

Correction Feds got that, and river of klingon tears. Kingons have all **** to pvp. Not much pve but its a pvp faction. What you want? a Galaxy X like ship? i hope you get such a ship. I will LOL on you all then.

    WOW!

I just read the thread about the Galaxy X. Holy crow, that ship is a total beast. How are you supposed to even fight that?

It has, essentially, a freebie Beam Overload power. Sure it shares a global cooldown with normal Beam Overload, but that's not stopping you from picking up the normal power and having an extra boost every 2 minutes. The phaser lance essentially translates into an extra tactical power.

It has the officer power slots of a Star Cruiser, meaning this ship can have an extra heal that other Cruisers don't, or an extra support power-- whatever.

It also has cloak. It can equip Heavy Cannons like Escorts and Battle Cruisers.

This ship is essentially an Assault Cruiser + Star Cruiser + Battle Cruiser, all rolled into one. All it's missing is a console.

    It's way OP.

I am inclined to disagree. It loses a weapon from the aft, it has less tactical consoles than the Sovereign, it's turn rate is so lousey that I had to put two Mk IX RCSs on it an I am debating a third. I am still a bit new to PvP so I refuse to fly it in PvP. In PvE the shields evaporate quickly and this was as a admiral1 player in a captain1 mission.

While I am still new to the Klingon faction, I play both sides as I have love for both sides so this is no attempt at disinformation. I assume a great PvPer could wring the potential out of the Gal-X but an average player like me is gonna be in a world of hurt if they drop into a PvP arena and expect to roll the opposition.

I'm just expecting the Romulan faction to debut with most/all of the functionality of the Feds to prove the anti-Klingon bias.

You are my hero man, seriously. Now let's talk open PvP sectors... :D

That is actually a great idea. I remember the KEF assault on Sirius Sector, the last day of Open Beta, and the thought deserves merit, BUT, this is my only concern:

    Warping in.

If the spawn points are going to be camped, you guys can have fun with that, without me. Not going to be creamed by over a dozen Fed or Klingon ships as I warp in, then get repeatedly creamed as I just try to respawn and leave. That is not the definition of fun, and I have no stomache for doing that to others. It's just not cool.

Agreed, I was there for that and it wasn't fun. Just spawn in and - *BOOM*.

I think the answer would be to have either random spawn points (which are really predesignated when the map is built, but there are a lot of them) similar to Unreal Tournament or Battlefield (2142/2/BadCompany) or a protected spawn point, as in the cap and hold salvage map that we have now.

Personally, I'd like to see some of both, along with a capture the flag element. Something like this: (Totally theoretical scenario made up from mah brain warning!!!!)

(Eta Iridani sector block is converted to open PvP) Klingons decide to conduct a raid on the Donatu System (held currently by the Feds). The Klingon fleet assembles at Ganalda, and sets course for Donatu. As they enter the system, two things happen: 1. A map is created (or hand designed, and already exists - this is probably better, as the devs can control where everything is in the system) and; 2. a system message is sent to all Feds currently in the sector block, warning them that the Klingons are attacking.

The map is made up of a starbase and an asteroid field, 2 spawn points at either end and 4 - 6 capturable spawn points set up among some kind of terrain feature (large asteroid, mining outpost, research probe, destroyed Borg sphere, whatever) in between. The starting Fed spawn point is the station (they are the defenders), as Feds respond to the attack warning, upon entering the system, they spawn at the starbase.

As Klingons enter, they spawn at the Asteroid spawn point (the far edge of the map).

Each side fights for control of the spawn points in between. If the Klingons get to the starbase, there could be a point where Fed players man the defenses, and if they are destroyed, the Klingons attempt to board the station.

Here the combat switches to ground-combat, fighting for control of the station, with captureable flag/spawn points inside. If the invaders reach the starbase command center, they hack into the main computer, and control of the system changes to the Klingons.

Just switch it around for Feds attacking a Klingon system. Also, it could be switched up so that some systems only have a base on the ground instead of a starbase, and for the main bases for each side (K7 and Ganalda) maybe there are both starbases and a ground station. Some could be military outposts, some could be industrial, archeological sites, colonies... whatever. :)

For me it was spawn - wtf?oshitte - EM- then boom.

It was made up for by the shooting of Klingons in the base though, that was fun.

Lets see feds get 3 new ships klings 1
Feds get whole new level system 1st contact diplomat missions etc (diplomats with costumes) we get 8 new missions.
klingons get an eyepatch and some new head ridges, a minor dress change
Orions and nausicans get new race outfits
Gorns and the other races nothing special

For me it seems the feds actually get more

They got more. The Ship retrofits at least will unbalance PvP even further as tehy all have gimicks and special powers like the Galaxy-X, which is upgraded to Tier 5, too.

That's a good idea, actually. I mean since there is no Neutral Zone, anymore, really. Someone needs to put this forward to the Devs! I love this idea!

God help you if its not. Klingons have been getting the shaft from day one, something major needs to be done about that fast.

Points to you for this one.

OK, thats an interesting PoV. I don't agree with it however. All the Klingons are getting is a copy of the same stuff with a sprinkle of other stuff on top. This does nothing to balance out the lack of content overall.

    Hooray?

This still does nothing to balance out the general lack of content in comparison to the Feds. Getting access to the same new stuff is all well and good, but a drop here and there does not parity make.
