That is what should have happened in the timeline! Klingons and Federation have been the best allies during the Dominion Wars!

And a mix of Klingon and Federation ships in PvP would certainly be exciting. You'll never know whether there are Klingon ships using that lone Fed Cruiser as a bait or not...

But whiners? cummon people! Ok you say it isnt cannon... it isnt the federation boohoooo :'( The starship pegasis... ring a bell? The treaty did not do anything.. the federation not only tried to develop cloak BUT the cloak developed was able to phase through SOLID OBJECTS... the Defiant had a cloak... whether or not it was a federation developed cloak or not... it still cloaked... and was a federation ship... :'( I think that it is dumb that the defiant class in the fed T4 doesn't cloak! how would that OP feds? a cloak that did nothing but hide your ship... not op... not ruining klink... totally cannon... quit complaining :)

Actually it's NOT canon. The ships you have mentioned were INDIVIDUAL examples. They were special examples or expirements. They were never mass produced and could not be reproduced. The one from TOS was taken from the enterprise after Kirk stole it, and then when they tested it on the other ship..poof, gone.
The one on the Defiant was "borrowed" from the romulans and again couldnt be reproduced.
The one from all good things was an "alternate" time line and is NOT in the regular story line or history..it was a "could have been, might have been if all these other things might have occurred" not to mention Q was involved so whos to say what he personally added in or not (no evidence to this but you get the idea).
No where in Canon, everyday, regular progressive storyline did we EVER see the Federation with cloaked ships that werent one of a kind, unique and special circumstances.
Why would the Defiant in the game at present have it? The ones that are presently flying around are NOT the Defiant! They are Defiant class escorts (or the same class as the Defiant depending on how you want to look at it, but thats neither here nor there).
Suffice to say Canon states the Federation do not, have not and will not (at least in the forseeable future) have cloak.
I wont go into why they shouldnt have it mechanically speaking, they don't need it, they are good enough without.

If the Federation gets cloaking then all the whinning about how violent STO is and how how unlike this is compared to Gene's vision should stop. Cloaks are not the tool of a peaceful people and are a weapon of war.

I think cloaks for the Federation would be really cool! Especially if they are going to make the Romulans a playable faction.

Sorry I also should have mentioned this in my post about cloak being Canon or not since I was citing the other posters examples:

The U.S.S. Pegasus if you will recall while yes it had an expiremental cloaking device, that could phase shift as well through solid matter, was recovered by the U.S.S. Enterprise under Picard, the end result was the device was handed over to the romulans (ie beamed in front of their ship) and Admiral Pressman (who was trying to recover the device) was arrested for violation of treaty and illegal acts such as creating an illegal device and missappropriation of Starfleet rescources as he did not have Full Starfleet authorization to do so and was in all likelihood court-marshalled along with his supporters (so it was hinted at).
The Defiant, the only Federation ship allowed to have a cloaking Device was destroyed in the Second battle of Chin'Toka. Along with its cloak. Its replacement the San Paolo (renamed to Defiant) never had a cloaking device and we never saw the device aboard a Federation ship again.

So once again we end at via Canon and current story line - No Federation Cloak.

This is just a citing of why the whole idea of cloak isnt Canon and to refute those who cite its appearance in Star Trek as a basis of being ok as far as Canon go. It is NOT an argument for or against the introduction of the device in the game.
Though while I am personally against it.....it's not the purpose of my response. Just tired of people saying it is canon because it has appeared in the show. Yes, it might have appeared in the shows, but look closer and to the end of those shows and it always seems to leave the Federations hands.
Argue on other grounds...but DON'T call it Canon...it simply isnt.

    Just my 2 EC's

The Federation is not getting cloaks.
Some rich kids who've bought themselves 5 subs will be getting cloaks, and I for one do not consider them part of the Federation.
I tell you one thing if I'm still playing and I see a Galaxy X in pvp, I will sit the match out in protest. I suggest everyone do that, the worst thing you can do to someone with a shiny new toy is to ignore them.

Yep, what little ST feel this game had when I first started playing it is gone....perhaps because the endgame is so bad and the aesthetics and music just doesnt fit with ST...but I do think giving Feds cloaking is a bad idea.

I volunter to lose matches with Fed cloaked ships on purpose by flying openly and alone straight into the Klingons and get killed, doing zero damage. The one thing worse than having a new toy ignored is having a new toy that isn't the fun one expected.
