The most creative and fun attempt at the RAF I have seen. I support this idea. I'd love it if you could with their permission of course to post the winners videos, pictures ect. HAHAHA :)

how should this be a scam?
because the DDE is 10 EURO more then the normal edition? if i have to buy 5 DDE's that would be 50 EUR more for me... i think it is fair enough to give the OPTION to do this...

if it is illegal... uhm... infraction nr. 3, no biggie.

-> also i expect the answers as replies to this thread !

    How is it a scam?
The only possible shady thing possible here is that e-mails would be given out, and thats easily dealt with by creating a "junk" mailbox.
But he gains nothing if he does not send out the keys since you only get stuff if a person activates a retail copy.

Btw its not against the EULA since hes not giving away accounts.
The EULA is only applicable and accepted when you actually install/get an account, but the CD-Key is loose in the case and therefore unused its not subject to the EULA.

we feel it's a scam because you're asking for 10,000 euros per dde >_>; you should correct that, also it's against the code of conduct to resell the game in the forums.
try selling it on ebay, much more legal.

true, since he is giving them away for free it might not be against the eula, i still don't think the GMs take kindly to attempting to "resell" stuff in the forums though, atleast not the general discussion.
it's a nice idea though, though why he's worrying about just 1 ship i have no idea....
    and why he's posting in a forum of people who already have the game, i have no idea, we already own the game, why would we want/need a second copy >_>;

well... it will be intresting to see if this can at least bring in some legit replies or if it will be all oldtimers.

If this fails at least we all know not to care about getting new people in anymore

he wants 10 euros via paypal if you want the DDE edition because it's 10 euros more then the silver edition, but he made a typo and said 10,000 euros

not being from europe i'm not familiar with euros, but i equat 10 euros = $10?
so 10,000 euros sounds like $10,000 to me ($10k) if i'm wrong forgive me.

    and best of luck.

i'd still suggest trying to post outside of the sto, like using one of the council's websites to try and get people who don't already own the game.

It's unbelievable that players have no shame and are actively attempting to bribe new players with in game items or actual cash value rewards just so they are able to get a game reward themselves. It's even more pitiful that Cryptic are allowing this to continue.

It's pitiful and ugly to see.

It was not a typo, in Germany 10,00$ means 10$. We use "," as decimal seperator and "." to group the zeros of large numbers. 1 thousand in Germany would be written 1.000.

Also, i can't believe that someone really bought 5 boxes to get the Galaxy-X....

I don't see why it is so shameful. It can only seem shameful in terms of imagining yourself doing the same thing. I would never be so bold to tell someone what they can or can't or shouldn't spend their money on. It is their choice and whether you agree or not they have the right to make that choice for themselves. People pay $1,000s on crazy things like collectible pez containers all the time. If these people want to spend an extra amount to get something they want who are we to judge them. I personally would never do it. But given an item I really felt passionately about I might shell out a little extra to ensure I get it. I still feel the OP's approach sounds like fun and I hope to see some of his applicants replies like cat's with Vulcan ears haha :)

BTW I know sometimes inflections are hard to read in the written word but this reply did not come with any hostility to you or your post. Just an honest kind reply :)

if you think this is a scam, report the thread for a GM to review it, if this breaks the EULA the GM will take care of it, in the meantime, give the OP a break.

I'll take one for my roommate.

I want a Galaxy-X but not THAT badly.

He'll stay for more than 30 days because I'm a lifer and both his brother and several of his high school friends play. He was a loyal MMO player but he's been putting off buying a copy and I didn't plan on dropping $30 just to get him to play right now.

If you have a shortage of feedback, I'll take one for my best friend from high school too. He was a loyal Warcraft player for years but has been shifting more towards console action games.

oh I have done but cryptic don't work weekends.

Offering cash-value incentives to people so that they will purchase a product ( subscription ) is illegal under EU pyramid schemes fraud law and by allowing it Cryptic are condoning it, making them guilty of contravening unfair practises and contracts law.
