    I have two RA 5's and a BG 5.

It seems to me that Cryptic is missing the point. Fix one carrier bug that is advantageos for the carrier. But leave the flawed design and half arsed implimentation of the rest of the ship?

Cloak give tact officers a de cloak even through their death for a set time. That is instant as well. Yet do nothing about how a BoP goes boom to a good tact officer in under 5 seconds anyway. So effectivly only bad tact officers and tact officers in beam boats will benefit.

Yet odly SnB and VM still are not changed? Errr Sci officer in a BoP see's a tact officer. If you lock them down so they can't move and kill them you don't get Fire on my mark you can recloak and move on. Yet if you don't you get Fire on my mark and can't recloak for 60 seconds. How does that NOT promote more SnB and VM TRIBBLE?

Just silly changes that miss the mark. Feds still will die to cloak. Or you will blow up the BoP like is quite easy on a escort even when they get the jump (provided it isn't SnB and VM). But hey if you lose when you respawn you can race back and kill the paper thin BoP! As after that it is a very very easy target.
Carriers? If you die to carrier now it having less dps will just be a slower death to you. As a support for Klingons it is still too slow/imobile and has to spend so many bo slots on keeping itself alive. it still has no real pet control either.

So I'm unsure what these changes really do except **** off people. They don't fix things.

Its acutually quite funny, but thats another story.

I don't know Klingon PvP... but I know basic concepts of a MMO to know certian things. People that are whining about "AHH THE KLINGON EMPIRE IS GOING FADE INTO NOTHING!!11!!" are overreacting. Like your friend Serpieri.

I know enough about PvP in general for my opinion to be prudent on the matter.

I quoted this not to pick on the poster but to point out a few things.

1.) Often the players complaining, or in this case justifying their right to their opinion, have not played on both sides of the coin. When you have not, and admit it, you basically will be tuned out by those who have. I'm not picking, trolling, or making fun of anyone, but I am just pointing out that will happen.

I only played Klingon PVP at first. Well lets be honest, that's all I have open to do as a Klingon, and I played my Fed only as PvE. There was a lot of complaints about Salvage yard being unbalanced because of how long it takes to cap the resource, how long it takes to produce anything from it, and how easy it is for Fed players to capture it back from the Klingon side. And I had to admit I was one of those players who hated that we lost matches because of how easy it was to lose resources in that game.

Then I played my Fed in PVP once I hit Captain.

2.) Funny, I seemed to have forgotten all about how all the cloaked Birds of Prey (as I had one as well) and how they messaged each other on who to attack first, then who next, and so on. I forgot how quickly 5 players focus firing on one target could kill it fast, until it was me that was always the target as an Engineering officer in a TAC ship (Defiant anyone). Suddenly I realized that I actually needed that advantage in Salvage because without it there was no way I could help hold or take any resources on that map when you can't see the other side coming until they open up on you and spank you. You can't win without it

Of course a well placed lucky torpedo as they battle cloak always ends their game for them fast (^_^)

But having played "both" sides to Captain tells me that there is balance already.

Now if they play with that balance then they need to compensate on the other side.

Klingon's give up a lot to make that happen. You get lower BO's skills to use in a Bird of prey than you get as a Fed player

    For example:

In a Bird of Prey at Captain level you get: 1 Commander (Level 3), 2 Lt (level 2), 2 En (Level 1). they are Universal, but this is what you get.

In any other Fed ship you get: 1 Commander level skills (level 3), and 3 LC (Level 2)

On the surface you might argue that you have one more BO skill to use as a Klingon, but they are only 2 level 1 skills. Most of those skills are not as useful as their level 2-4 counterparts. And you don't get Science, TAC, or Engineering teams as a level "1" skill if I remember correctly.

Birds of Prey have less armor as well.

But if this is the way they are going are they planning on beefing up the shields and armor of the BoP? Changing ship maps like Salvage so that it takes both sides the same amount of time to capture and hold resources?

To me the bigger problem is around Ground PvP, but it seems some things are going to be "globally" fixed and it will effect game play regardless of the Tier and not only Tier 5 games and around only the carrier. And that's my problem.

Fixing problems by committee is always a bad idea and fixing game balance around only one sides request, especially when one side only only has PVP as the only thing they can do, and when the other side primarily wants their side to win all the time and doesn't want to see what limitations are for the other side, is always a bad idea IMHO.

Players shouldn't be allowed comment on issues like PVP balance when they have not played both sides up to the same level. They can't voice on how to balance out a game when they don't know what the other side has to give up for their perceived advantages.

For me I'm only commenting on the Captains battles I've been in, so I have no idea how carrier battles are going, but if they keep this new balance for only T5 battles I may change my mind when I get there, but until then I stand by my opinion that its balanced as it is with plenty of give and take.

Now if they would just dial down that expose chance in ground PVP for both sides, that would make ground PVP more enjoyable.

    :D

The PVE in beta actually provided a challenge and it can now be done with no thought required, much like how FED’s PVP. It’s a good thing I had the forethought to join a a Fed Fleet that PVP’d then rely on poor players. However, In your case Skapek, based on the dribble that you spew daily I would not be surprised to learn how many times you have stared at a respawn button.

I don't care about my PvP skill, I could die 20 times every match, and it wouldn't effect the topic at hand. You whining and complaining about lack of Klingon content has 0% to do with my "bad skills" as a PvPer. Everyone has the right to an opinion, and I don't wave my E-peen around claiming I have skills of a God in PvP. Ill let you handle that, I suppose.

If you have 2 Brig. Generals.. Then you should know that leveling up, things have been shifted in favor of Klingons in PvP. Playing a Klingon I always thought they should add a reveal of some sort, just to give the Feds a chance to find us, but when you can attack a single target, re-group and re-heal, while they scurry around and try to find you is a little un-even imo. Now, if the OP's facts are right, it means we can't cloak for 60 or so. Its all fair in my book tbh. Its not like they hit a button and all the Klingons De-cloak...

I agree mostly with what your saying, and Im all for it. I don't care as a Fed that Klingons can cloak, when I PvP'd for the first time as a Fed, I expected it, and didn't mind. And like you stated, Federation get some advantages else where too. With the amount of time it takes to re-capture the points in "Capture and Hold" type games.

Before, I wasn't commenting on PvP directly. I was aiming at people who patrol the forums, and tbqh, Im tired of these kind of people who run around yelling the sky is falling over a small tweak. All they do is try and tell everyone that Cryptic is aiming to kill the Klingon faction. Im not sure how a Cloak de-buff for 60 seconds, and fixing the OP Carrier is "killing the klingon faction" Or in his words,

"lets be honest the Klingon Faction is dead and getting deader by the day"

Idk what that is, but its not Honestly in the slightest.

Lets be REALLY honest here, having two updates that will slightly effect things to even out, is NOT killing the faction.

As someone who plays both sides and have both Alts at T-5 I think it was fine the way it was in terms of PvP balance.

Hopefully the way they are testing it on tribble will not be what happens on the main server.

It is after all just a test server.

There is no official word on if it is what they will be doing.

In fact the only official word from a Cryptic GM was that it was working as intended.

When the Fed side works together properly it can be very frustrating as a Klingon. Especially in a Carrier.

It takes alot of focused fire, but a carrier goes down pretty easy done the right way.

P.S. Reasons Feds Lose is very obvious - problem is they don't want to acknowledge that they are doing something wrong.

i have no issue with balanced games, who does. my concern is if you 'balance' one side against another based on the forums, where few few people roam, you will get a situaltion where very bad players can compete with very good players in pvp. Unfortunately this will mean those very same very good players will get obliterated by the good and very good players from the other side because balance focus has moved from class/faction to player skill. the side with the majority of bad players will get more OP due to removal of the balancing factors, such as cloaking for klingons, while providing no compensation for the loss of said abilities.

I remember a game, warhammer that had a huge imbalance in faction player skill so they increased the effectiveness of one side to try to help the fact that side was being overwhelmed daily. after one patch across every server the balance shifted and almost every 'evil' city was under seige every day the op classes they claimed, l2p as we did, but not everyone across every server l2p over night after one patch and all those doing well suddenly forgot how to play. hope they don't make the same balancing errors here.

My experience with Cryptic is they tend to be very over reactionary . In this game it could spell the destruction of the Klingon faction. They tend to not fully test the changes they implement . This will not end well.

After further discussion, it appears the anti-cloak buff doesnt prevent us from claoking. It just increases the ability for us to be detected while cloaked.

I think it was determined it increases detection range by about 3km. I can accept that if its the case. What I wont be ale to accept is if that damn red cross hair remains visible on us while cloaked and outside of detection range.

The term anti-cloak seems to be mis-loeading. It should be called a 60 sec stealth debuff. this shows its decreases an attribute that contributes to cloak effectivness.

In that case every BoP pilot should be hitting Full Aux once they begin cloaking and an Eng battery. Basically changing nothing . If you weren't doing this you deserve to die, lol.

I can agree with that having 5+ years experience with them in previous games.

I think if they took SNB out of the game completely I would have no problem with their "fix".

I to don't have an issue with the changes to cloaking. I have both a Neg'Var and BoP. Battle Cloak I have always used like a sensor blind anyway. Nice to have another trick up your sleeve.

I wish they'd fix the Neg'Vars BO positions, for a hugh ship, the ranks of the BOs are lacking. Especially for the Science officer. I'd trade one of my Engineers for another Science Officer.

On the issue of SNB, its just got to go. I don't mind VM as much since I carry ST1. I know it doesn't work like it should but at least "if" they fix it to do as it should I'll be happy (ST1 that is). SNB is just obscene. Please, lets not get into the CC options and their counters. All BG5s have been around the block on skills so we have been hit with pretty much most of the CC skills by now to know what we are talking about.

Pretty much if the devs are reading through these threads I would recommend that:

    1) Get a Klingon character and fly through the instances, stations and PvP areas we exisit in. Sure I know that Federation areas have so much chatter they sound like a dumbed down version of WoW's trade channel. For the Klingon areas, quieter as they may be, you may learn a thing or two from us. Example: Goto Qunos, or near "Infected" and try to form a KDF team.

Maybe try and just appear in our areas and announce who you are. Most I would think would appreciate a dev appearance in the KDF areas. Not to mention we can check out what a devs pimped out ride looks like.

    2) Reevaluate our ships. No I am not saying they need to mirror the Feds (O' God I do NOT mean this). I do mean that many of our BO positions don't make sense for the ships that they are. Example: If a hugh ship needs to defend itself as well as be viable in combat what BO skills would they need? Do ships-of-the-line have the ability to have these BOs? Also what the heck is the use of BOs that can't use all their skills? I have yet to see any that can use T4 skills on the KDF side.

    3) Clothes - Well yes, I know that the Feds THRIVE on clothing options but to be honest there is little to nothing on the KDF side. I'm not asking for lingerie for our crew (well maybe for Orions ;) ) but it would be nice to have something other than a sash for an armor choice. Included in this would be the appearance of kits. Feds have this, why not Klingons?

    3) Ship Configuration - well many are not familiar with Star Fleet Battles which had a litany of ships for each race. I know STO is pretty much following the movies and the TV series and their lack of variety. Would be nice to have more ship choices. We can't change anything about or ships except of a skin atm.

    4) All for more PvP maps. Honestly I don't know how a Fed player can treat PvE / PvP differently. PvP is better in the sense that its more of a challenge. PvE AI in this game isn't too bright. I really don't advocate PvP only servers due to the fact that I don't think many Fed players will flock to it (I maybe wrong).

    5) Missions - OMG I would like to know what the heck were you thinking Cryptic to make the high end missions FACTION SPECIFIC????? Just refer to #1 and try and form a KDF "Infected" group. After forming that group, try and finish the mission. If you can do that try and repeat this process again each day. You will find, for a KDF member its near impossible. What concerns me most is that the mission faction specific groups has been a complaint in the forums for a while and what does the new high end content include ? - Faction specific groups.....ugh.......and you wonder why many of repeat that Cryptic devs don't listen to KDF members.

Cryptic can only test so much internally.

what needs is that the PLAYER BASE log in to the test server and beta test.

so anyone that isn't really don't have any rights to complain about any of this.

ppl had over 2 weeks to log in to tribble and test all that was getting changed.

they didn't and now they whine.

so maybe when the next major update comes to tribble, ppl might actually log in and test it....

    but then again, probably not.

Like I said, I could die 40 times in a match, on my Klingon or my Fed character, and the fact still remains. ONE MINOR UPDATE IN PVP is NOT the "nail in the coffen for the Klingon Faction...

    Hmm.. lets recap

You need to start reading what you type before you post it, You attacking the entire Federation Faction won't help you at all. And while you attack them, you contradict your self over and over again. Saying that the Klingon faction is dead, then saying the Federation has 0 PvP skills isn't getting you anywhere.

I don't have the patience to continue talking with someone who can't make valid arguements, or back up what he is trying to say, other than, FEDS SUCK AT PVP!

Just one thing of advice, you might want to /dramaqueen off

Lets Recap for the mentally challenge - your stil way off topic and have yet to show that you've even begin to grasp the issues that are plaguing this game. You seem to believe were in some kind of game or contest when posting, which continues to show how clueless you truly are. Sadly, I no longer have any faith that you are capabale of growing a brain so I'll borrow one of your childish lines.

    I accept your surrender.

Take my advice and grow up.
