First of all I am glad to see that this feedback from all of us is being collected. Very good!!:)

    So then:

    Short term:

    1. fix the bugs that everyone else has mentioned, BO uniforms, rubberbanding etc.
    2. increase the difficulty level to something like it was in early open beta. Difficult meaning not have to kill 50 weak enemies but difficult as in fighting a few challening enemies.
    3. keep in touch the community, drop us a note to tell us what is going on and what you are working on so we know.

    Medium Term:

    1. more content, more interesting missions that feel immersive. I want this to feel like Star Trek. This MMO is the only one I can think of that has about 40 years of source material, 100s of hours of episodes and movies to use. The lore is out there so give us a Star Trek MMO

    Long term:

    1. sector space: sorry but this flying around over a grid underneithe us and with star systems stuck on poles does not to make me feel like I am in the trek universe (I do not even feel like I am in space!). Perhaps we can navigate from our bridges, perhaps we can clean up sector space to feel like we are really flying though space and not some map with grid lines on it.
    2. as with the medium term wish: more content, more IP. You have the rights to the whole Trek universe so there is plenty that can be added and added at all levels from start to finish

Been trying to think of a list of items since launch myself and this seems a good a thread as any for them. So, here are just a few of mine:

    Short term:
    1. Make Data Samples unlimited or at least higher # stacks.
    2. Scaling (realistically this is probably mid-term but needs a short term priority to me) of interiors and some ship models. Make it feel more like Trek to the scale of our toons. Implement no collision zoning in places where small scaling would be a problem like space stations.
    3. Bug Bashing (Borg War Zone and UI slots consistently going blank when xferring from space to ground and BO AI pathing are a few examples...)

    Mid term:
    1. More content Klingon-side. Beyond this with *any* Expansion ideas such as Romulans or Cardassians the player should always feel they are having a full game experience no matter what "side" they play. (realistically this belongs as a long term goal but is something critical to be worked on)
    2. More flavor of uniforms, weapons, and even ship skins. Classic Trek looking weapons, having the name of your ship on the lower saucer section rear like in the movie, and just other flavor items for both detail and additional customization I think should be an ongoing process.
    3. PvP needs work. I do see this as an end-game item and as such I think everything from balancing weapons/skills to continually adding more maps needs to be on the list.

    Long term:
    1. Sandbox. The game needs more "long lasting" content in the form of implemented sandbox areas. This is a huge umbrella though and should be a focus for the social aspect of the game as well. I'm talking building a starbase for a fleet to simply improving the whimsical items of being able to personalize your place in STO. Vague, I know, but I'm sure the idea is not new.
    2. Player Crews. I'm not one to drop the subject but I still think this merits a long-term goal to add to the game. And it'd be fairly simple. Replace BO slots with available Player slots. (Universal slots preferred) Though a developer/even players may think it boring to have only one button to focus on I think there are enough players interested in being a part of a crew that this is the simplest solution and I think it'd be used. Obviously I would think scaling in case of multi-player crew instead of multi-ship mission would scale to just the ship owner. Redundant but wanted to state it anyway.
    3. Full Expansions. Anything worth doing is worth doing right. Mentioned this prior but any additional content that adds additional player races should always feel like a "full" game if you create a new character. As with Klingons I would hope to have full PvE and PvP content should I ever get a Romulan expansion. Goes without saying these should come with at least an additional character slot with them.

I think I've got a ton of other things rattling around in my head but these stick out the most for me personally. I do think, however vague some of it is, all ideas would help to improve the mmorpg feel of the game over the co-op single player feel of it now. Not a complaint though as I seem to be enjoying the game just fine right now despite it's obvious faults.

    Short-term requests

Fix Dual Pistols (Disruptor and Phaser but guessing any other type) appearance when player character is idol. I think it's the right hand gun is attached to the outside of the lower arm near wrist rather than actually in character's hand. They're in correct position when shooting them.

Better scale to some of the lower level ships. Shouldn't an Escort Ship be somewhat smaller than a Cruiser? (Tier 2) I'm not that sure about this but just what I think.

Also save UI preferences. I like to have the 3 row version up and it's never saved when it reverts back to default a portion of it is stuck under the shield strength indicator.

Almost forgot this one! A multiple select option on the email interface. Since its clear credit farmers are here to stay for the time being, I'm not blaming Cryptic for this its just a fact of life. Could you please add a select multiple option so I don't have to waist 5 minutes every day reporting then deleting emails of this scum. Yes, if one of you are reading, I called you scum.

    Mid-term requests
Ship Interior. More of it and maybe players could buy decoration items for it.

When exploring the various 'Arms' more variety in the missions. Perhaps have some critters local to the planet for diversity. I'm talking when you beam to a surface to examine 5 items then you beam back up. These missions are dull. A little danger could be added by means of local creatures. They don't need to be part of the mission requirement.

    Long-term requests
Since so far my highest achieved rank is Lt Commander 7, I can't really comment on the long term. Not that I'm finding it hard or slow or anything, just been trying to find that preferred player template. Think I got it now.

Things i would like to be done to improve the game.

    Short Term:
    • Crafting advancement progress update and information update on who is T2, T3 etc add how much crafting is required to progress.
    • More unique ship customization and bridge customization, could include captain's quarters with possible customization and trophy/unique item collection. Like other MMO house features. Something to show for all your hard work and battle-scars ;)
    • Ships explode and leave debris. brings carnage and believability of destruction to the space battlefield
    • Better turning rate for cruisers. Someone on the forum mentioned Siege Mode for cruiser's, which sounds like: divert all engine power (ship cannot move) to defenses (buff to shields and hull).
    • armour variation/customization (not just different colour)
    • Better AI squad pathfinding.
    • Better hairstyles (not all short hair cuts)

    Mid Term
    • More ships
    • Add crafting rather than just upgrading.
    • More detailed skill tree for space/ground (it all seems very vague)
    • More mission variety and deeper storylines (including genesis system exploration) This can include some puzzle solving quests.
    • Incremental inclusion of PvE for Klingon/Orion side.
    • Weapons feel underwhelming. Give them oomph and a bit more of a deadly feel to them rather and just pew pew lazer. i.e. al-la mass effect 2 style submachine gun/machine gun oomph. Where you feel the
impact. This includes the Phaser turret, which looks and feels disappointing.
    • Player powers that complement each other espcially in multi-stage boss fights (see Lotro instances).

    Long Term
    • New D.C.S (Dynamic Combat System) Ground combat overhaul/improvements. Add simple cover system, this actually gives you the reason to be tactical and try to get the fix, fire and flank maneuver. This would add a great amount of depth to ground combat. This will also require more littered environments (crates, boxes etc.) with multiple paths to flank. just for good measure throw in a aiming mode in 3rd person with a cover system ftw. Makes you feel more involved and in control. All this will help justify flanking and the awesome Kirk roll from cover to cover. Who honestly wants to stand and get shot at when you can take cover and get shot at :p
    • More hand to hand combat variety/animations. Throws, Melee Weapons, Counter attacks etc.
    • Spending points to level. I find this unnecessary as I would like to save points to put into other skills that are higher. It would be useful to hit i.e. lvl 10 and gain a rank rather than hit lvl 10 and have to spend all points to gain a rank.
    • Improved skill tree for ground combat with unique powers only to that class. Varying roles to specialize in i.e. Heavy Support trooper, Recon/Sniper, Doctor, Controller, H2H Specialist, Assault, Biological Scientist. i'm sure you can think of appropriate names.
    • Better boss fights with a bit of figuring out how to take them down rather than just crouch, fire, secondary fire, rifle knockback.
    • More fleet action and ground wars. Include settlements with cover (buildings/walls) to fight in/around. A bit of scenery would be nice considering most planets I have visited (not irl) are barren with some rocks, foliage and a few trees. Dynamic weather i.e. rain, sand/snow storms etc would add other elements to tactical gameplay (reduced perception and tension). this could enhance team and solo GC too.
    • Fleet bases and planet settlements possibly? A place to go and not all congregate at Sol canteen for meetings. (SWG, AoC, EvE) as examples. Rather than purchase materials and craft buildings and bases, you could purchase the initial structures then collect items to upgrade them.

I know i ask a lot some of what I ask is unrealistic and possibly impossible, but I was asked what changes I would like to see and the ground combat is the biggest one I would like to change. I would like it to be more exciting and memorable.

Update to my earlier post (new items are marked in yellow)

    Short term

    > Hide (holster) weapons by default when entering a starbase, bridge or social planet (Risa, Vulcan, Andoria)
    > Let us toggle the visibilty of our officer kits (solved, already possible by right clicking on the equipped kit)
    > More costume slots
    > More character slots, 3 just isn't enough

    Mid term

    > More variety in exploration missions (genesis content) beyond either shoot everything in sight or press "F" 5 times
    > More episodes in each level bracket, leveling needs alternate paths.
    > Enhance the ship interior (e.g. Ten Forward, Ready room should be available at the very least)
    > Missions taking place on your ship (e.g. being boarded by Borg or Romulans, crew contamination, etc.)

    Long term

    > Fully fleshed out Klingon PvE including episodes
    > Diplomacy system or at the very least options for many episodes to be solved with diplomacy rather than combat only
    > Evolving storyline (e.g. ending the war, new threats arise in the quadrant)

    Short Term:

    1. Better Documentation, Instructions, and Manuals so that we can figure out what we are doing without having to come to the forums or the in game chat to beg and ask questions that seem silly to those with more experience in MMO's than us.

    2. Finish Klingons - I mean C'Mon - They dont have science ships, there are a thousand Federation Klingons on the exchange and none to buy for Klingon players, there arent any quests or content to level up in other than PVP, and the whole Klingon side of the game seems undone and rather sad.

    3. Add more character slots and do it for free. Players that play more and invest more time in the game will keep coming back and paying their monthly fees and thats a good thing. Players that Max out 3 characters in 3 weeks are going to leave if they run out of things to do and/or you actually charge $20 for more slots. $20 + $15 for another months rental is dangerously close to the kind of money needed to pay $50 for a different MMO for a month and perhaps It might be more "finished" and they might like it better and they will leave Star Trek. We want to see more players here and not less so please add more slots and do it for free.

    Medium Issues

    1. Gameplay Balance needs to be seriously addressed. Klingons are the unloved stepchild of this game. We all love the Federation but you need at least 2 sides to a game and conflict to make it more enjoyable and right now, I dont see anybody wanting to play Klingons to "challenge" the Federation. If they did theyd get killed. Also with no death penalty, Cruisers get hosed. Destroyers can set to Max kill with little shields and if they die then 10 seconds later they repop with full power and warp back into battle. The long drawn out tank fight where they Cruiser takes abuse after abuse to outlast and out power their opponent is not going to win many converts. A game like this should be a chess match where each side could win and right now Cruisers are at serious disadvantages. A 5-7 minute timeout on death would change the game a lot and give real incentive to playing it well rather than playing it to blow stuff up as an underpowered teammate and get points anyway.

    2. I would like to see crafting improved, tribble breeding improved, and more varied and widened content for those who enjoy doing different things than killing stuff. I would like to see the economics of the game improved and perhaps diplomacy and ambassadors added to the mix of the game. Seriously, send somebody over to play a Star Wars Reality mud to learn of the possibilities. SWR muds have Ambassadors, and Leaders, and Bounty Hunters, and Ground Troops, Engineers and Pilots and each different class has an entirely different viewpoint on how to play the game. The short version is to try and make STO more societal and less Warlike. Gene Roddenberry would be appalled at the violence of the game. Blowing up stuff is fun but every game has that and STO should branch out a bit. Star Trek had lots of episodes where nobody got killed. Have Archealogy missions or find hidden treasures. Have random ships pop up that are empty but nobody knows why with random events happening if one boards them. Let the game make use of some of those ground Doctor and Engineering skills. Put once in a million rewards into play for people that offer to explore abandoned ships or civilizations such as a Ressican Flute or some such thing (Of course Ressican Flute is my fav episode).

    3. More Custom Individuality. Have more costume choices. More character choices. We shouldnt have to use Cryptic points for Ferengi. Ferengi were major characters in DS9. With a game centered around Romulan RP from the very start, nobody can make a Romulan and those guys have been around and part of the ST Universe from season 1. People should get to design their own ship. Especially Klingons whose ships are pitiful. Ships should get built like characters. There should be game sponsored clans and guilds rather than hodge podge of player fleets. The house of Mardok should be able to declare war on the House of Juras or hey perhaps even the Orion Syndicate or even Vulcan or some such thing. PVP would be a lot more interesting if their were "factions" in the game. Also, clans should have their own unique clan equipment and uniforms that give a slight boost to its membership. Clan Halls should be nice and available and they should have their own clan quests to help train their members. Risa needs to be finished as a vacation spot and made enjoyable rather than looking at chicks on lawn chairs on the beach. I guess to put it simply, there should be a bit more Sims feels as players design their own experience.

    Long Term

    1. Obviously there needs to be new areas and customization, Its disappointing to see Romulans and Cardassians left out of the game but Im guessing this is a way for Cryptic to get $50 extra out of us in expansion packs. I dont really mind the $50 and it gives new players a reason to try the game out if there is a second wave of buzz and perhaps some older players that left will have a reason to come back but it would be nice to see expansion packs of 1. Cardassia / Bajor / DS9 / Dominion and an expansion pack for 2. Romulans and their Allies and maybe 3. An expansion pack for the areas explored by Voyager. The game needs expanded content and versatility and lots and lots of building. Cryptic should not just triple their staff but perhaps 7X - 8X their staff. There are 15 year old text based muds that are far larger and have more areas and those games were built for free. Build - Build - Build, Hire some writers and some musicians to improve the soundtrack and the writing and the overall game play.

    2. My Ship is my home and Id like to feel better inside it. Right now, I dont even know how to view my own bridge. Id like to be able to visit my cabin, and my engineering department, and my chow hall. I would like for their to be ship wide problems. Maybe my BO's want to go on strike for 1000 energy credits. Or maybe, I get presented with an award for winning a tough battle. When I buy a ship Id like to buy a Hull and then choose my design as to spending more on energy reserves or shields or improved EPS conduits for weapons. One ship should be just as designable as ones character and one should be able to walk around inside of it and feel at home. One should be able to beam up other players for a visit. And it would be really cool if each ship had a Holodeck where one could pick and choose maybe 10 programs out of a 100 that had individually designed quests and rewards that would give bonuses, rewards, and experience if one would choose to complete them. In the ST world a lot of training goes on in Holodecks so why not here as well. Rather than team events you can pick and choose the missions you like the most and play them at your leisure on your own Holodeck as much or as little as you choose and you should be able to choose the programs you like and adjust the difficulty settings for them. If Worf wants to play at Level 8 in Star Trek he does. Have quests that are different than just Sci Fi quests and have Robin Hood, or Sherlock Holmes, or Flotter, or whatever. Have a random data base that gives out random rewards and perhaps you walk out with that once in a Million engineering upgrade of which you could only dream. Instead of a quest where you play once, get the reward and its over, the Holodeck should be designed for fun and adventure and a wealth of surprises beyond the unexpected. If you play the Tom Paris Captain Proton adventure then maybe unexpected Photonic creatures appear and you interact with them and there might be a one chance in 10,000 that you get a console upgrade as a reward from them. Invite friends over and let them try. One ship should be very very special just like ones home in the Sims and there is so much that you could do with it via customization and special upgrades, etc. and Id pay big money for an expansion pack that would let me play Star Trek in a wealth of ways, on my own Ships each character would earn, build, design, design the quests for, and customize.

    3. Finally there needs to be Game Master quests, rewards, etc.... Pick some immortals and pay them a reasonable salary to be game Masters and design quests and give out rewards. Give them powers to affect gameplay. Call them the Q or whomever. Pay them a good salary and let them work from home. Have them run quests. I lost my Sunglasses on a strange planet but I forgot which one.... And the first one that brings them to me gets a Super Rare Mark X shield. Oh my, the Klingons have gotten out of hand and kidnapped my Puppy. If you can fly past their defenses and fight through the Halls of Qo,Nos then the Federation players will get a kind reward but if you cant then I will pay the Klingons a ransom to give him back. 100 vs 100 PVP in space and ground ..... Now Go ...... Anyway there should be one off events designed by Q's or immortals that always keep the game new, challenging, and different. The price of hiring immortals to regulate, and enhance the game in new and varied ways is quite negligible compared to hiring builders and programmers to constantly build new areas and quests so that players dont get bored.

Thank You for Asking and Listening,

    :)

At the moment it's 10pm till midnight and when daylight saving ends it'll be 9pm till 11pm! Us australian players get very little playing time when the downtimes are regular. How about a bit of staggering of the times? 2 Hours later would be a big help occasianally atleast.:(

Short Term: Fix the limitation on flying, we should be able to barrel roll ect. Space dosnt have a top or bottom and as a space game i would expect not to have this limitation. If you have ever played SWG: Jump to Lightspeed you will know what im getting at, heres a link to 2 examples if you havn't seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2hKds4VDmA&feature=related. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_JJalbyz1Y&feature=related.

Mid Term: Sector space i think needs some improvements visually, i recall reading a post earlier about making it look and feel more like space. Get rid of the grids all over the floor, it detracts from the Star Trek fantasy.

Also to make your bridge part of your ship not a seperate instance, this also takes away from the fantasy feeling. Again SWG did this v effectivily. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-DNFqI66LA&feature=related.

Long Term: The introduction at the begining i think should start back at starfleet academy, your a cadet whos just finishing off his/her training and after a few symple missions you are given a shuttle (Delta flyer standard) and rank ensign. After you reach Lt. thats when you get your first starship (the same begining one in the game now).
I think this touch to the begining will make players more exited about owning thier first starship and will help create the dream of advancing through the ranks in starfleet. (If Klingon player something on the same lines).

    Just my opinions and thoughts.

    Short Term Requests

Some way of Reporting Gold Spammers - I receive between 2 and 8 ingame emails every single day that are from "STOGOLD" spammers. I receive no other emails from anyone else.

    Medium Term Requests

Additional episodes in between the main storyline episodes.

Also, it would be nice if there was more closure or things to do with the Klingon Empire war Storyline. It just feels like the second I destroyed the Doomsday Device that the entire war against the Klingon Empire just doesn't matter anymore. It should still matter and there should still be missions/episodes dealing directly or indirectly with the Klingon Empire in this time of war.

    More Ship Models

I'd like to see more variety be made available. It could fit inside of the existing tier system.

For example, let's look at the Tier 2 Science Ships, currently there are three designs that are very similar in shape, in order to facilitate the swapping of component parts to build unique a combination of vessels. What if there was another option on top of that where you were able to chose between building your science ship with the three "Nova Class" inspired ships and three "Oberth Class" inspired designs?

So, you go to the ship customization screen and there is a drop down for basic hull shape, Nova Inspired or Oberth Inspired and from there you have three basic ship configurations (or maybe just two basic configurations for the Oberth Inspired designs). You choose your base layout and then pick your parts for your final layout and viola you have expanded customizable ship options while maintaining the core functionality.

Then put the Oberth Style designs into the C-Store and also make them available as part of a future expansion of the game that includes additional areas, equipment, skills and a multitude of starship designs.

    Long Term Requests

Social Content - Some reason for players to take a break from the missions/episodes/etc. and just enjoy the client, hanging out with other players and socialize. Take Risa and do something with it. The place is a boring wasteland. Risa needs a way for our characters to put on off duty clothes, it needs things to do, like minigames that may or may not provide some regular game bonuses/items.

There should be things to do on Risa that provide incentive for characters to sit around and chat while time passes building up a buff of some sort. This could help create a sense of community within the game, even if it at first feels like it is forcing players into socializing.

In the early days of SWG, the bars were awash with players sitting around and socializing, while watching/listening to entertainers because of the early game death penalty and later because of the really useful buffs that were provided by the entertainers. This created something to do that was outside of trying to rapidly rise in level as fast as possible and chew through the available content within a few days of time. This community feel that was born out of simply chatting was one of the hooks that kept people in SWG for as long as many players had been in the game. (I played from launch for 4 years and have gone back a few times and have seen that the community feel has been severely lessened because of the loss of a reason to really sit around and obtain buffs and work off death penalties.)

Player Content Things like personal quarters on our starships or homes/apartments on Earth, Risa, Andoria, Vulcan or elsewhere. Someplace that we can decorate to our wishes and then invite people to visit. A place to socialize and show off our "skills" at decorating and possibly even the collection of items. Picard was constantly being given things and virtually every episode that showed his quarters he interacted with this or that thing that was a gift he received years before.

Give us some areas of sandbox. Having sandbox areas would provide endless hours of additional "content" without the Devs needing to do much more than provide some player placeable items into personal zones. The players would then create thousands of hours of extra content on their own from that.

First of all, sorry for my bad English, but I am no native speaker:

But there are some things I wish for, and I guess, this is the place to tell them:

An LCARS-Interface: I know, time goes on, and the control systems changed in time, but it would be great to have an different interface style remembering the classic LCARS-system. Its a legendary part of Star Trek and would add much to the game flavor.

Ship Intierior: Its great to walk the bridge. My bridge. But there should be more places in the ship, i could visit. Transporter Room, Engineering, Astrometrics, Holodecks, a bar and so on... I just want to customize my ship, explore it. See my crewmembers work.

Interactive Ship Rooms: As I want more rooms, I also want the ability to do something in these rooms. For example, navigating through the sector from Captain's chair. Was a great expierence in ST: Bridg Commander, and would be a nice part here, too.

Real 3rd dimension in space battle: This would mean more hit locations to the ships, An attack like "death from above" would improve space battle strategies.

More customizable ships: Its my ship, and everybody should know that. I want to apply tags and badges to the ship. Just customizing it and showing my in game achievments on the outside of the ship.

Medals and badges for uniform: YOu achieve something in combat or in missions, and you get a medal for it. From "Purple Heart" to "Medal of Valor". I want to get such Medals in-game, and I want to wear them on my uniform. Its an MMO and I want to brag (a little) about my achievments.

    Short Term:
    1. Activate the death penalty, try to crew stuff, see if that actually effects people in PvE and PvP
    2. Increase difficulty a little bit at a time. Make it so that people can't get Admiral in a week without playing 24/7
    3. Allow trading of all Bridge Officers, allow people to trade captain training of version III skills

    Bonus Short Term Item:
    Add faction/team chat for PvP.
    Bonus Short Term Item:
Make the "reward" for losing PvP very small. 10-15% of what the winning side gets. Seriously, at the moment no one cares if they win... it's kind of silly. Also make dying in PvP more of a detriment, maybe all team members respawn at the same time/place (fixes the random respawn problems) on a rolling timer (similar to the spirit healers in WoW - seriously, this works some what!). WoW's system is unimaginative and not the end-all be-all, but it's better than what STO has now, and it shouldn't be hard to emulate while a better respawn/reward system is being thought up.

    Mid Term:
    1. Fix PvP encounters, this means adding things you need to attack and defend without being able to avoid other players. This forces the cloaking/detection thing to be less of an issue. (right now, PvP is too much of a cluster/ball "strategy" that will get old pretty quickly.
    2. Fix/tweak detecting cloaked ships in science vessels. If they can attack us at full power from some range, we should be able to see them, but by giving up our weapons/shields power or something.
    3. Auto-group PvP players when entering/leaving the match. Show fellow players on the map always. Show objective status on the map in PvP.

    Long Term:
    1. Add more PvP types - you could do something like Wintergrasp for end-gamers in WoW, or something like Onslaught in UT2004. These are fun, there are objectives, and they are solid enough I'd play them for a long, long time.
    2. Arenas/Team/Squad matches in PvP. With ranking and ladders. And some rewards for the top performers with token rewards for everyone else. Do it with seasons. Make it interesting.
    3. Improve "crafting" to help improve longevity of the game. Add something to Klingons first since they didn't get the PvE first, then add it to the Federation, if need be, but do something other than Memory Alpha, something more substantial.

    Short term

    Bridge non combat functions----

    1. When navigating to a system my helmsmen should be driving, not me. Why not have the sector space on the viewscreen or similar, and let me issue the order to my helmsman to take us to Bomari via the drop down menu like in the galaxy map.

    2. Communications/hails, same thing, this should be on the viewscreen.Use the same graphic display you have now except put it on the viescreen.

    3. Random encounters, My tactic officer should say "captain, enemy contacts within range, orders?"
then show me these on the viewscreen as they become available, perhaps even the type of ships against a generic space background. Then let me choose to engage them or move on.

    4. The idea here is to use the bridge for travel/communication give us the feeling of sitting in the big chair during non combat. Ships seem bigger when you see them from inside more often. Not to mention I think this would greatly enhance the immersion factor.

    User Interface.----

    1. Autofiring all energy beams, not all weapons, My brand new mouse is already getting wore out from the constant clicking. I've never played any game since 1977 that required so many cliks. This one tiny change would make a huge dent in that for me.

    2. The ability to resize ALL UI windows, and text.

    Mid Term

    Quests general.----

    1. Captains log should reflect the exact conversation that the quest giver had. Perhaps add input variable in the quest options to copy text to captains log. Right now it's blank unless I type something in there manually.

    2. Branching stories. In the quest giver dialogs you can only proceed one way, give meaning to what they are telling you by adding, different answers and missions within the main one.

Example, you been told that you need to get the kligons of Uranis. So you can be off to kill them or
if you keep on questioning the quest giver, you can find out that on Saturn there is a weapon or item that will help you in your task.

2a. Others ideas. include the availability for two types of resolutions for a given scenario, fight or diplomacy.

    3. More diplomacy and riddle/puzzle type quests please. I realize that action is a big part of Trek but so is knowledge and revelation.

    4. Nemesis, Q type random encounter quests that invovle creatures that cannot be beat, but can only be appeased.

    5. Starfleet should contact me with "important" quests , not have me beg for something to do.

    Long term

    General wants----

    1. Why doesn't my tricorder say "scanning" instead of "interacting"

    2. Dead Klingons should NEVER drop tribbles ,dont care what the reasoning is, it shouldn't happen

    3. Beaming down to a starbase should automaticly holster weapons.

    4. When close to any planet you cant beam down to, someone on the bridge could say,"Captain this planets atmosphere does not support life." or some sort of indication why I shouldn't.

    5. Scanning ships ,items ,planets . Clik a target to scan and get a readout of the various intracasies of it cargo, type, armament.

    Space is too busy.

    1. No one could live on a planet with ten billion asteroids going around it. They would rain down like nuclear fire almost daily. And certain areas like Sol space should be BLACK space, not full of nebulae.
These are great pieces of art but they lose their impact when I see them every where I go.

So now that I've hit Rear Admiral I'ma revise my list a little.

    Short-term:
    * No more Aid the Planet missions among the genesis content. If nothing else allow me to buy provisions from my replicator to finish the mission without having to go back to a provision merchant.
    * Fix the rubber-banding issue in sector space.
    * Buff turn rate for T4 and T5 cruisers to 6 and 7 respectively.

    Mid-term:
    * Wider variety of genesis content. It always ends up being Kill 5 Cardassians, Scan 5 Artifacts or Scan 5 Artifacts Guarded by Cardassians. Why not Make First Contact with the Randomians or Help Scientists Establish Research Base or something? What sticks out to me is a mission where I scanned 4 computers and found that a reptilian alien from the Delta Quadrant had abducted a research base's crew. Why did I not get to meet the alien or rescue the crew?
    * Klingon PVE content, specifically episodes. Why shortchange the turtleheads?
    * More fleet actions for T3 and above. I can't stand grinding DSEs, and filling the space between missions with exploration can be tedious.
    * Fauna and lifeforms moving around on genesis-content maps. Right now I'm just beaming down to an empty map, but even when there are buildings I see zero aliens. It'd be cool if, on a scan-5-artifacts mission, the map were bigger, the area were sparsely settled, and I could talk to the locals to give me directions to each artifact and information on the artifacts themselves.
    * More random missions. It's always awesome to get a random distress call inviting me to a mission.

    Long-term:
    * All-original content to fill in deep space. Isn't Star Trek about exploring strange new worlds and seeking out new life and new civilizations? Fighting the Borg is cool, but so is mediating a border conflict betwen the Randomians and the Lolaliens or making first contact with the Newraceians and getting involved in their affairs.
    * Discoverable, nameable planets. I envision this as a situation where you find a new star system and claim it, give it a name and beam down to explore the surface and the area. You'd get to frolic around the planet discovering new lifeforms, finding new minerals, meeting new species and potentially preparing the planet for colonization, in which case you'd be given some customization options for building up a little settlement. I'm envisioning a whole series of missions around exploring your own planet as well as the ability to show your planet to others. You could compare planets with your friends. And if you play your cards right maybe you could get unique items from your planet, too. It's probably not realistic, but it'd be awesome. I mean, we all have our own bridge; would a planet map be so hard?
    * More freeform content, where I can just roam around a star system collecting anoms and fighting pirates.

    Short Term:

    More episodes.
    Bug fixes
    More variety is missiosn

    Mid Term:

Better exploration maps. They all look the same.
Better sector maps. Do we need to constantly zone in and out.

    Long Term:

Alpha Quadrant content such as open exploration, first contact and so on.

Player hobbies. Picard was archelogist and players could find rare and valuable artifacts.

Less linear feel to the game. Currently its very A-B in its approach.

Better Genesis missions such peace treaties, trade aggreements etc.

PvP effecting the war between factions as stated on the website and more fleet action.

I'm not sure where these will fit because I don't know how hard or time consuming these things are.

    I'd like:

some way to track my progress in Memory Alpha
Maybe some way of being more interactive with making things on Memory Alpha

My most favorite things to look forward to though are these :

I'd love to be able to go to just about every part of my ship, crew quarters, mess hall, engineering, holodeck, and every other part of the ship interior.

For the long term I'd like to have my own cabin in each of my ships or a transferable Captains cabin that follows me ship to ship.

A usefull bridge would be lotsa fun, even if it's only used when traveling in sector space. I could walk up to a station and look at the map and pick a direction or order my helmsmen to go this way or that way and to avoid enemy contact.

    Short Term:
    • Fix the bugs that are still in game.
    • Update the quests so that they state where the destination Planet AND Sector is.
    • Speed up (or eliminate) the loading screens (If Possible)
    • The cruiser turn rate is terrible for turning to retrieve loot, a minor adjustment to loot distance (Perhaps 20km) would be a huge help. (I don't believe the cruiser turn rate needs to be modified)
    • Add auto-grouping to PVP, when you zone into a battleground, if the battleground is more than 5 people than it should form more than one group.
    • With the addition of a cap to the skill points it is not possible to take more than 2 Admiral abilities. You should allow people to bank their points so they may take the desirable skills instead of forcing them to spend them to level. (This can easily be done, I have also added some more on this under Mid-term)
    • Allow captains to train abilities that they unlock via skills to officers REGARDLESS of the captains "class". IE: Tactical officer could train Engineering Officer if they took the training in the skills trees.
    • Remove the ability for Klingons to cloak in combat, or make the penalty very severe such as 10 seconds of vulnerability where they are TARGETABLE AND SHIELDS DOWN.
    • Add a battleground chat that only your faction can see (Don't remove zone chat, just add a private channel for your faction to plan your attacks)
    • Lower the cooldown and increase the range of science ships to see cloaked ships.
    • Add a way for players to see who's in a PVP battleground. As a Federation player we have no way to know if there are any Klingons or if they are all just cloaked.
    • Modify the "Aid the planet" quests so items they need can be replicated (for a fee of course) on board your own ship. If I zone into a sector and get "Aid the planet" I zone right back out and leave the planet to die to whatever ails them. :(
    • Why can we only use 1-8, F1-F8, Etc. Why can't we expand our action bar to go from 1-= & F1-F12, ETC.

    Mid Term:
    • Add joystick support to space combat. Riker had one, that makes it cannon; I want one too :)
    • Modify the map so we can click on sectors in the galaxy map and actually bring up the map of that sector, this will make it easier to find destinations we are looking for.
    • Skill points are now capped, however the skill trees are done with the intention of allowing people to eventually max out all abilities. The trees as they stand right now need a complete rewrite.
    • Some abilities such as Heavy Cruiser Captain, Tactical Escort Captain, are completely useless in the game as they are currently written. I don't advocate removing them, but I would suggest that when a player maxes the skill out they unlock the ability to "Refit" that their of ship at admiral to mirror the admiral level ships. This would be a great thing to do and would add more diversity to the ships that will be out there when everybody is Admiral.
    • Ship interiors: Bridge, Ready Room, Conference Room, Engineering, Sickbay, Etc. I have seen screenshots of at least some of these areas, please add them to game.
    • New quests added to the game that involve ship interiors. For instance if you are doing a take VIP from one planet to another, why not have that VIP do something on your ship, sparking an onboard quest; or perhaps you are boarded and have to fight in the halls of your own ship to ward off invaders. Etc.

    Long Term:
    • More raid content added (Along with raid groups). I believe that we should keep raid size to 10 - 15 people.
    • More playable factions (Cardassian, Romulan, etc)

    Short Term:
Aside from all the bug/content fixes etc people have already listed -
Space AND ground Combat needs to be more immersive
Certain non combat Ground missions need LCARS screens and brief mini puzzles etc to unlock consoles, SOO extremely mundane as is, Common for christ sake be a little more creative.!
Star ship interriors - Really dont know why something this essential to a - Star Trek - universe was not included from launch

Mid Term - Immensely more levels of Star Trek immersion

Want to be able to take a turbo lift (and actually ride in it) and have view windows from earth space dock lounges showing into the center of the space dock and be able to watch shuttle craft and various space craft come in for docking and depart

Want tasks on & off ship that include LCARS and actual star trek computer screens

Want to use lturbo lift tubes to go to the admirals office instead of just a quick load screen

Want detailed starship interriors and also a few repetable missions to do on your own spaceship

Want to be able to fly through boring sector space from the captains seat of my bridge and have the viewscreen be the window

    Short Term

-Transwarp conduits between sectors. It's ridiculous to be able to warp back to Sol to do all my stuff I need at promotion, only to have to fly across the quadrant again to get back to where I was. The game even references Transwarp conduits, and it wouldn't be hard to simply add in these little warp features. Just add in a little gate, and say what system you want to go to and it takes you there, maybe for a fee. And make it so it only allows you to go to places you've been to make it not broken. Or perhaps at the least have a few areas that are decently far from Sol so we can get there quicker instead of spending all this time flying back.

-Skirts, seriously I want me my women with skirts. There is no reason not to have it in considering the actual design for it is in the game, I saw it on War is Good for Business, it was a few Starfleet girls wearing it no less! So give me my skirt options for my female (and Scottish) characters.

-Make my officers biographies viewable to other people who check them out. I'm tired of putting time into my characters bios only to find out not a single person could read the bios of my crew.

-More options to the bridge. There's already tons of threads on this so I won't elaborate further, but I and many others want this.

    Mid Term

-More Starbases. This is the future, why can't I ever find a Starbase that is as complete as Earth Spacedock in terms of NPC's for gear, ship outfitting, and even ship buying? It just seems rather silly that there are some few hundred Starbases, and everyoen we go to is either under attack or in a crisis, forcing us to hang out at Earth if we want to go on the exchange, send mail with items, or just do things that should be available elsewhere. I'm not asking for Starbases everywhere, but a couple that are far away from Earth would be nice, like in Pi Canis, or what have you.

    Long Term

-Klingon PVE. REAL PVE not just the little stupid mission they have now. I'm holding off on playing my Klingon character because I wanted to do real missions with him and not just PVP my way to the top.

-Crafting. REAL CRAFTING, not your ghetto "Outfitting ships is totally crafting" cause it's not. I want to create and mod my deflector dish, and an assortment of other gear based on crafting abilities.

-More ships. Right now it just feels really limiting on ship choices, it's 3 per rank, and only one kind in each category. Just having more options would be nice so that I know when I grab my tier 3 science, I won't be driving the same ship as everyone else my rank in the galaxy. Even if the new ships don't have too much in the way of stat differences so be it, I just want greater diversity. I'm tired of seeing 50 billion of the same 3 kinds of ships every tier, even if you can change some of their slight appearances.

-Exploration and diplomacy missions that don't suck. Seriously I hate going down to a planet only to have to scan 5 things and call it a day. It's boring, it's not fun, and it's lazy design. Even adding in a little minigame to scanning could make it more interesting, maybe I have to play with the Tricorder and switch what kind of particles I'm scanning for, and it'll help me find what I'm looking for. Just SOMETHING to make it interesting, and make me feel like I'm actually doing something and not just pressing a single button and winning. Star Trek is about Exploration and Diplomacy, even in times of war, completely ignoring that aspect of the game will put off the true Trekkies, and make the game not Trek, but just a war game in space with some generic Star Trek ideas.

    Awesome thread guys.

    Short Term:
Want to, but can't write a response on every single issue in here - to be honest, we're trolling and spending our time tracking the issues down to get you fixes ASAP. The gold spamming, the fleet banks, the commodity missions, memory alpha issues - all those things we're trying to address as fast (and more importantly as smart) as we can.

    Mid Term and Long Term:
I'm, right this instant, using this as one of the main threads to gather update suggestions from. Keep it coming, keep it coming.

I know it might be asking for a bit more information than you can give, but can you give us a quick idea of some of the more "easily adressable" issues you've seen and will be getting to vs some of the more "difficult to work on" issues?

    Cheers!

Short: A new bug reporting system that will update and allow us to track bugs.

Mid: New pvp maps with objectives other than deathmatch, king of the hill, kill the man with the ball, CTF, etc

Long: Ability to modify lower tier ships to be upgraded to higher tiers (IE throw a ship into a t4 frame). Possibly make it a crafting ability.

I have no proper Short/Long Term ideas, but I have one major "mid term" wish:

    Mid Term:
    PVP FLEET ACTIONS.
Yup. I always liked games like Joint Operations form Novalogic where people could jump right in and fight with other players towards a common goal.

Right now we have PvE Fleet Actions, I don't see how this system could not be expanded to include two or more competing Factions.
One could also call it an "Open Space Battleground".

    Throwing some more in...

    Short-Term:
Memory Alpha Crafting- With Romaine, we can buy most of the Mk II gear needed to experiment on, and upgrade with her. For the higher tiers, we have to rely on (unreliabe) drop rates, hope that they're even-numbered, and hope that they're not rares. If we want to buy them on the Exchange, then it usually runs us most of our cash.

It doesn't make sense to spend 250,000cr on a "common" Mk VI Plasma Beam Array that we can turn into a Rare item that won't sell for even half that on the market.

    Mid-Term:
"Exemplar-ing"- If I team with a low-level group in my fleet, or head into a Fleet Action that's well below my level, I'd like the game to tone down my gear to the appropriate level for the group/zone. If it did this automatically for the Fleet Actions, it may aleviate the problems of griefers in their Defiants and Sovereigns flying in and winning top spot on all the Fleet Actions

Fleet Action Improvements- I'd like to see things other than "Damage Dealt" be the key to winning top spot in fleet actions. If other things are being calcualted, can you come out and tell us? Also, more Fleet Actions! You could turn the assault on the Romulan Shipyard into a gigantic Fleet Action, as an idea.

2nd post in thread but I'll try to keep to the OP's outline of "the rule of 3":

    More Short-Term Items:

    1. Make Exploration "points" at least show tiny planets or a solar system icon rather than being "blank" points with a tag.

    2. Mouse over info on more of the Stats in UI screens. (Basically, just what does + 12 to x really do? for the beginners or even what makes that lower % Mark VII better than the higher % Mark IV armor in some cases) "Simple" mouse over... pop up info.

    3. Memory Alpha Databank? Just a crazy idea but may be a good short-term goal. Use some of the empty rooms at MA to have a kind of "Map" Display that shows what you have unlocked and possibly a filter pointing you to where you can buy some of the vendor equipment to upgrade. I think it'd make the process a bit more understandable and just feel better overall. Earlier I stated making Data Samples stack higher too. Another possibility is to have a separate Data Sample bank slot available at MA.

Here are my opinions, in order of preference.
    Short-term requests
These are small things that seem like they could maybe be done within a patch or two.
    1. Respec!
    2. More Ship Customization options (Hull, Saucer, etc)
    3. Fix of the Skill-Cap Issues
    4. Bug Fixes to current Content
    5. Additional Content in the form of Episodes and Raidisodes

    Mid-term requests
These are things which realistically would take a couple of months for the devs to do, given dev time, testing, balancing, and so on.
    1. New Races added to Character Select (Cardassians, Romulans, etc) that are free!
    2. New Complete Ship Designs (Excelsior, Nebula, etc)
    3. New Sectors (Comparable in size to the Borg Sector atleast, bigger the better.)
    4. Improvements to Crafting (Memory Alpha needs an Orbital Strike in all honesty.)
    5. Improvements to the Grouping System (Especially in regard to the Mission Scaling.)

    Long-term requests
These are "direction of the game" kind of things. Stuff that you want them to do over the next year or two of the game's development.
    1. New Playable Factions (Cardassian/Dominion, Romulan, etc)
    2. Improved PvE for all Factions (Especially the Klingons and any new Factions.)
    3. Improvement in the Genesis System

    Short term.

While I do not play them much, Klingons need some decent repeatable PVE content.

    Mid term.

resize the architecture. Its most noticeable on DS9, and Galaxy/Defiant/Intrepid Bridges.. You simply cannot have things that were bread and butter to ALL Star trek fans for 7 years apiece, and make them twice as big as they should have been. It is the only thing that has actually compleatly disheartened me about STO, because other than that I'm having a great time.

    Long Term.

Non combat content skill point granting content..
some kind of large open pvp map, with far reaching consequences, possibly similar to Warhammer, where you push the front forwards and backwards.

Going to have to repeat as I see it as very Important, resize the architecture. Its most noticeable on DS9, and Galaxy/Defiant/Intrepid Bridges.. You simply cannot have things that were bread and butter to ALL Star trek fans for 7 years apiece, and make them twice as big as they should have been.

I have so many more than can be listed here. I posted them in my thread here: http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=95603

I'll try to put a few here.

    Short term
    - Please don't completely reset my ship controls when I get a new ship. Feel free to remove settings that no longer apply, but my skills are still my skills and have not changed, so please don't completely dump my UI and make me reset it every new ship.
    - Please give us fleet emblems we can put on our ships.
    - Please let us loot from much farther away. Some of us don't turn quickly and it's REALLY tedious to have to stop, turn around, go get it, find out it's yet another damn battery, and then have to turn around again. If it's within 10km we can transport it aboard, let us loot from within that range, please.
    - Please make batteries stack much much higher (especially given how common they are) and let them auto-fill when they're in my devices slot. For example, if I have a stack that's not full in the devices slot and I get a battery, put it there before you take up inventory room. If you're going to load us down with batteries, at least make them convenient.

    Medium term
    - Please let us skip the tutorial, put is on Sol as Ensign 2, all the skill points we would have had if we'd done the tutorial. At the very least, if we've done it once, let us skip it.
    - Please expand upon the home worlds (Andoria, Q'onos, Earth, etc), give us more to do there. Turn them into real social places.
    - Please speed up the turn rates on the T4-T5 cruisers, they turn *WAY* too slow. They should have at least twice the turn rate they currently have.
    - Please give us uniform "themes". I make my uniform exactly how I like it, with "rank" and "branch" areas, then flag it as "ship uniform". Every bridge officer, security, and other person I see on my ship is wearing this.
    - Please expand the themes to give us multiple uniform types. I want "Dress Whites", "Arctic Survival", "Combat", etc. I want to set it once and everyone looks like me. I'll pay cash for these slots at the C-Store if need be, I don't mind. Just please don't make us to through the tailor every single time someone is promoted (to change rank) or we add a BOff.
    - Please give us fleet emblems/patches/comm badges we can wear on our uniforms.
    - Please give us a variety of melee weapons. Andorians have 3 ceremonial melee weapons, Vulcans have 2, every race has weapons they use. Please let us have them and use them well.

    Long term
    - Please give us some real exploration missions. The current Exploration missions are nothing but CoH "radio" missions, where we fly in a fluffy cloud, find hidden doors, and do canned missions that serve no purpose but xp. It's not "space", it's flying in cotton candy and grinding.
    - Please add a lot more to bridges. Give me a ready room, for trophies and such. Make it a real social area.

    Short Term:
    1. Better explanation of skills and their effects (PLEASE! I love the SOUND of +20 Transwarp Mogrification, but how does it effect my Tribble Snuggling skill?)
    2. Auto-holster guns. It's kinda silly looking to be so angry looking at Sol.
    3. Clean up chat clutter. The character@handle stuff clogs up the window. Maybe just character name?

    Mid Term
    1. Add more customizable options to alter ship. This, plus character customization, equals one of my favorite parts to this game. It's fun to have a ship that is recognizably yours.
    2. RESPEC! Please add an option. I'm not sure if this could be quickly implemented or not, but I sure hope it would be. We need clarification to skills before we choose them... but to progress we have to choose them without clarification. Oh the agony & slight inconvenience!
    3. Missions onboard own ship. I read this in an earlier response. I love this idea so much. Very Star Trek-y.

    Long Term
    1. Add more variety to things you can do in the game, and help us enjoy exploring the huge swaths of areas you've created by making it fun to explore... without any particular mission. Add content that rewards discovering things that pop up randomly.
    2. Having the ability to level without excessive battle would be really neat. But have it puzzle-themed or some such. Bioware's type of puzzle for hacking etc would work well for such science/diplomatic leveling. Design it in such a way that it takes more time than just dialogue trees that could be farmed quickly and easily with an online guide. Bioware's ME2 hack/bypass interface is a fun mini-game-esque way to reward skill/time spent away from combat.
