Turn off dynamic lighting, and on ground missions, disable post processing. This is a common issue with the current game engine that is still present in Champions online as well. It definitely needs to be fixed asap.

Yes they both are. I used to get the BSOD as well when I had those turned on, dynamic lighting is the biggest culprit, crashing me all the time, but post processing can cause some crashes on ground missions too.
With both off, I haven't crashed in a couple dozen hours of gameplay.

wow thanks, i have turned off P-P, but dynamic lighting was allready off!...dosnt look good for me lol.
still getting crashes. i have turned all the graphics down to lowest, medium , best performance. all combonations have had a crash after 5-10 mins playtime. *sigh*
i set my max fps to 60 turned off AA. also clocked my GPU fan speed up.
comon people someone must have a clue. lol
well did u try using the /maxfps but setting it to 30 instead of 60? I know it hurts to have to do that but until cryptic addresses this issue there really isnt much else you can do. If the /maxfps command doesnt work then i am at a lost 9% of ppl crashing due to heat was because of cryptics code telling your machine to try and produce the max fps thereby causing serious heat ups and in some cases from other posters a loss of their gpu.
Try 30 fps and monitor heat with riva tuner and. Hopefully with all the posts of ppl saying its only STO that they will fix the issue.

with 60fps, heat was between 50-60. maybe sometimes reaching 70. but that is fine. so im pretty sure its not that. however i will try it.
Aye its horrible, I am currently stuck on starbase 24 either in orbit in space or on the away team mission, doesnt matter game crash's in like 2 mintues and of couse no progress of the mission is saved making the whole thing Pointless.
Hmm..., you say this doesn't happen in any other game, right?
That's odd. The only BSOD related to this game that I know of is a driver issue with ATI cards that have dynamic lighting enabled. (That's what I was getting before)
I know this is often said but it may very well be your hardware overheating, or damaged hardware in general. Download OCCT and run a test, after 2-3 minutes tell me what your temperatures are at.
Also download Prime95 and run it for 10-20 minutes, see if your CPU produces any errors. (it'll push it as hard as it can be pushed).
Your BSOD is caused by a corrupt or badly installed driver. It could be what is causing the game to crash for you. Make sure you have the latest chipset drivers installed, because the error log you have posted certainly makes it seem you havent.
It also looks like your dirext installation is a little screwy with the error "dxgmms1.sys". Try reinstalling directx. If that doesnt work, reinstall windows and retry. IMO it looks like you have a "funky" install.

and have no idea whats casuing it.

thats the problem there is no error.
it just crashes to desktop, and pops that little cryptic box up asking "what happend when it crashed"
WHAT GIVES?
my rig is less than 4 hours old. lol
is post-processing in the options menu as well?

AA off, AF x16, DL off, PP off, Quality 100%.
hmmm, i never had it on my other pc, and that thing is a hunk of junk.
single core, 6 series gforce, 1 gig ram. and only crashed once. in about a week with 4-5 hours daily gameplay.
*bangs head on wall*
only had 1 B screen so far, its just the game that keeps CTD.

ahh gotcha...check the games error logs might tell you whats causing the issue?

thats only the ones from 1 of the crash folders, there are 3. you dont want to see how many are in one of them. over 100
this is terrible.
hopefully they will fix it soon

What are its specs and version of windows are you running. New computer doesn't mean new drivers and you may need to upgrade a video driver etc.....
yep.
its windosw 7 pro.
ATI HD 4890 drivers are upto date. with the latest catalyst too.
it hasnt happend today, and im hoping with the patch there currently putting up it may help it as well.
