I have done extensive testing with tribbles in my fleet (we have had 100's at one point). Here's my observations:

    - They do not breed in the fleet bank, no matter how hard we've tried.
    - They do breed on your belt, if both food and a tribble are on the belt.
    - They do not like Klingon food. I put 5 tribbles with a stack of gagh in my bag and after a full day I had 5 tribbles.
    - They do however *LOVE* Quadritricale. I put 5 tribbles in my bag with a stack of 5 quad and within 15 men I had 15 tribbles.
    - They dislike Klingon bridge officers and scream everytime the BO brings them out.

Love the FAQ, thanks for posting it :)

the game needs a tribble-sink or it will be overrun.

I had a tribble in my active items slot eat food that was also in my active item slot during beta, not sure if they changed this or just increased the delay to reduce player frustration.

I didn't see it posted anywhere, but it seems that tribble breeds are named after the design team, such as the super buffing tribble, Rivera. If we had a list of credits, we might be able to figure out how many breeds exist. I'm at work so my resources to research this are limited, does anyone know of such a list?

you mail all the tribbles to cryptic hq.

be sure to pack _Plenty_ of food for them on the trip, and send them in a box _Much_ larger than necessary ;)

I think you've just been unlucky on eating times. For example, I've seen a few rare tribbles come from Klingon food. I also haven't found a "good" tribble from Quadratriticale.

Howe + Klingon Gadst = Ricossa
Nix + Klingon Gadst = Stacy
Tuffli + Klingon Gogh = Nix

Here's a picture I took when my Klingon Tactical officer tried to use it on the ground. I got rid of him not too long ago (the Klingon) because I couldn't have someone around upsetting the tribbles.

all your replicator food restores the same amount of hit-points ,52 i believe. lowest food sources - so recieve the standard tribble from breeding.

you will find food with higher level hit point gain , the higher the level the food (hitpoints it gives) the better the tribble you will get.

Beeskee mentioned having them breed while equipped on his belt in beta, I have also had this happen. It was either the last day of headstart or first day of launch.

I can't say for 100% sure but I think only the +damage buff tribbles can produce the +regen buff tribbles and the generic striped/spotty tribbles can only produce the +damage buff ones. feeding them replicator food doesn't seem to work very well you need to give them food that is dropped from missions.

You can breed Regen Buff tribbles from Tuffli's (probably others too but these are the only one's i've done it with so far.

    Tufli
Bajoran Moba Fruit = Henry (health regen)
Chateau Picard = Henry (health regen)
    Tulaberry = Henry (health regen)
Flaked Blood Fleas = McCarry (damage buff)
Ratamba Stew = Jasperson (damage buff)
Vulcan Plomeek Soup = Jasperson (damage buff)
Ferengi Jellied Gree-Worm = Nix (damage resist)
Field Rations = Nix (damage resist)
Klingon Gagh = Nix (damage resist)
Klingon Racht = Nix (damage resist)
    Slug-O-Cola = Nix (damage resist)

    Thompson
    Bloodwin = Jasperson (damage buff)

    Jasperson
Chateau Picard = Deangelo (health regen)
    Slug-O-Cola = Cavallaro (damage buff)

    Howe
    Klingon Gadst = Ricossa

Here is a simple pictorial list of breeds from this thread so far. Might find it useful for auction house browsing or a checklist of sorts.

Well, it's time to stop letting the litle buggers rot when they drop I suppose. As a note, I've also seen them drop off of Romulans and Hirogen. Doesnt seem quite as often as Klinks or Orion.

It's true that you need the better/rarer foods to get rarer tribbles. But not all good foods will give you a rare tribble with all parents. Some tribbles will chow down the finest caviar and still spawn a trailer trash tribble.
