I'm amused and astounded it's going to pass 200, okay not really, at least the rage has evolved into "amusing ourselves by forum humping" Which is vaguely amusing... so yes please continue.
We are posting so fast that we are TRIBBLE up the time stream... people are posting replys with quotes in them before the orignial post comes up.... scarry.
I wonder how many of the people whining and complaining about the downtime actually took the time to read the business contract (EULA/ToS) we made with Cryptic when we created/paid-for our accounts - specifically where it states (to paraphrase) "There will be downtime and you agree we don't garauntee the availability of the service", etc etc yadda yadda.
When you pay your sub, you pay for downtime too - and downtime is more often used to IMPROVE the game and gameplay-experience. Sure a crash may happen, but usually a crash is much better to experience than, for example, a database corruption that perpetuates to a total failure without the symptom of a crash (or any symptom for that matter.) As a developer myself, I'd rather have these crashes and am empathetic to what they're dealing with.
Honestly though, the people whining about downtimes should just quit and stop paying for their sub. If you don't like the terms of the agreement you made with Crypitc, then don't renew! That's the ONLY real way to express to a company how you feel.
I work for the nations largest high speed internet provider and our terms of service and user agreement states the same ting. Guess what sparky? It doesn't matter millions still call in when service drops be it internet, cable or phone. It's not what is in the agreement it what people expect and in this case it's a headstart weekend that we paid for, waited for, some took time off work for.
Setting expectations and customer service are the most things lacking in most any large company what makes the difference is IMPROVING those areas. With that in mind there was a closed beta and open beta to tweak/resolve the major issues in the game to have them ready. A good example of that is server stability first, game play second etc...
It's to be expected this early in a release of a game that there will be outages. Oh wait the game isnt released yet. Quit crying about the outage. Look at the situation as it stands. The game has some serious bugs. We all can agree that it takes time to fix them. Woiuld you rather they wait till launch and take the servers down for 2 days to fix them all? Personally I was all set to game it all day and am disaapointed too but the game isnt technically out yet.
this is utterly pathetic! this is the second day of the "head start" and again I am unable to play during the only 2-3 hours I have free during the day to play. I trust if this continues that some form of compensation will be given to us players for putting up with this utter nonesense.
I'm imagining, with the speed at which this thread increases in size, that the moment the servers go back up; they'll just crash again from the tsunami of logins.
If you take the pagecount for this thread, divide it by itself, subtract 10, then multiply by 1 - you will get the average Biological & Mental Age/Maturity for the majority of users complaining in this thread.:D
Why must you be so cryptic cryptic? An ETA for the server up again would not hurt...come on give us something to chew on. You've had some hours to think about an explanation now haven't you???????
