We are really sorry that you cannot access the borg character from the c store. We have all hands on deck and are in a red alert state until this is fixed.
We will post in-game announcements and a forum post once this has been resolved.

No thanks. wasted an entire beta on a throw away toon. Not wasting time on live on a throw away toon. Would rather wait until a main is available to play.

Another concern from me is that hte character creation screen tells me that I don't have my extra 2 slots available as a lifetime subscriber - any comments on that for us?
I have my 4 slots so you might want to create a ticket on that issue.
It seems to be fixed now. Someone ingame was saying they just created a borg (they aren't listed in the C-store now) so I checked and I can indead create a borg now.
Honestly, I applaud your decision to temporarily disable liberated borg in favor of letting everyone actually log in. That's not sarcasm, that's truth. I can wait a few hours for a borg character--I paid for lifetime because I plan to play this game for years. Who cares if the headstart has a few wrinkles--at least the servers are up and people are playing.
Your hard work is paying off. Ignore the naysayers and know that your real customers are the ones who aren't here for just the free 30 days, we're here for the long haul/
Some people are reporting in-game that they are able to select liberated borg as a playable race once they get to the applicable screen. It's possible that Cryptic is enabling the feature for lifetime subscribers on an account-by-account basis.
It's suggested that folks logout and log back in to see if they're able to do so. I just tried a few minutes a go myself... no luck. Guess I'll try every 30 mins or so.... at least, until they make some sort of official announcement.

Just an FYI as I don't know if it helped I did open a ticket a few hours back as I didn't have a clue how to get the Borg at the time. So if you don't see Borg in character creation race options prhaps opening a ticket?
We are in the process of finishing up the operation which will allow all Lifetime Subscribers to create a Liberated Borg. It should now be available to most players after they log out and back in. If you still do not see it, it should become available shortly.

Aside from the Borg issue and the Account Server going down this launch has been smoother by far than some other games I've seen.
