Hi folks - this is a really rough/weird message to write. After today, my time as the Community Manager of Star Trek Online is ending. For almost a decade now, I've been a part of an incredible community here, and I want to say thank you to every single one of you. Yes, even you.
The Star Trek Online Community is a truly special thing, and I'm so grateful for the time I've gotten to spend with you all. You are passionate and compassionate, and Gene Roddenberry would be very proud of you.
I'll still be around STO, and I really hope to see you all again. The new CM is going to take good care of you, I really like them - they might not be able to post here right away, because of some legal stuff with the transfer that I can't get into, but they're really excited to meet you all and continue taking care of you, and I trust them to do so. In the meantime, the amazing moderator team is not changing, so you're still in good hands.
I'll miss you all. Q'apla'!

You've navigated many highs and lows, including a global pandemic - something nobody in any profession is ever trained for...
All the best to you, and others who are facing an uncertain future.

1) Getting the Eisenberg-class to be a free ship for the Winter Event in 2021 to honor Aron Eisenberg's work in STO, especially as almost every Discovery ship from Season 2 onward became a Lockbox or Promo ship. It would have been easy to monetize it, but you went to bat for Aron and the STO community to have a freely-available memorial ship for him. (Side note: I hope Cryptic/DECA find a good way to make it available again, either for free or as a charity purchase that goes toward a charity of his family's choice.)
2) Your multi-year crusade to try and get us Lockbox/Lobi/Promo/Phoenix ships that we already own as account-wide unlockables. This one was a loss for the STO community (though now we have Mudd Choice Packs/MEGA Bundles, so we kind of got it just not how we wanted it?), but you stuck with it until you got a definitive answer. I even have a Twitch clip of that I use whenever the topic comes up (though under new management, that might could change, never know!).
Take care, Mike, and I look forward to seeing what all lies ahead for you.
I know we have butted heads over the years, but it was never personal and I always felt you knew that which I appreciated. I sincerely wish you all the best going forward and I hope you find something you love even more then working at Cryptic.
You're a good dude, and I wish you the best.
