Those fighters are starting to sound like the realworld P-39 which had a ridiculous number of variants (the designations went up to P-39Q-25). It had so many subvariants they not only had to use a variant letter but also a number to keep from running out of letters.
Anyway, maybe STO should use a variant letter on each version of fighters in the game to avoid this kind of confusion with multiple lockbox, dil store, fleet, default, and whatever other source and quality variants each type of fighter may have. Such a scheme would also look more realistic which a lot of players would probably appreciate on top of the confusion-lowering effect.

So they AREN'T the same as Valkyries then, because Valkyries do have pulse cannons... I'm confused...
Edit: if you click on elite it DOES say they have phaser pulse cannons.
There are 3 versions of the Valks.
Valks, Kodai and Tarren Kodai all are the same just with a different look. All have Pulse Cannons. The only one that is different is the 4th version the Command Kodai which has a 7% drop in energy weapons and a lot of extra torpedo spreads.
Note: Well 12 versions if we count Rare though to Elite for each sub version.

There are three versions of the valkyries and they are all the same except for the fourth version. And there are twelve versions. OK, got it!

And that is why I wish that they all had at least one thing different between them.
Standard Valks can stay as they are
Terran Valks get Agony Phasers
Kodais get Pulse Phasers
Not only would it be themeatic for each one to get era/faction appropriate weapons, it would mean that they each have a bit of utility as well with the procs, and in the case of the Kodais a different visual for weapons fire. And it wouldn't be the first time something was changed to use a lockbox weapon type either. Back when we got the Destabilizing Tetryon I believe, the Hirogen were revamped to use that instead of standard Tetryon.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

I could get behind that idea.
Pets in general could do with a full balance pass. There are to many pets that are better at rare and get worse as we upgrade them to Elite and Frigates need a balance pass really badly. Droneships being about the only Frigate that has good enough performance.

Agreed. Those drones are top notch. But not what I want from a Carrier. I always imagine Romulans wearing 'pilot' t-shirts. I don't want to fly a FDC, I want a carrier.
You, sir (Pottsey) have done a great amount of work on carrier builds. Unfortunately the analogy is still Raptors from a raft or F-18s from a Queen Elizabeth. Carriers need more love, end of.
