Morphogenic Polaron Energy Weapon says Turret, but is an Omni-beam.

The "Morphogenic Polaron Energy Weapon" says in it's description that it's a turret, specifically a "Heavy Morphogenic Polaron Turret."
It has a 3 second recharge like other heavy turrets, for example the "Advanced Inhibiting Polaron Heavy Turret" or the "Heavy Bio-Molecular Phaser Turret", or it's variants.

The problem is it shares the same equip-lockout as other mission or set omni beams.
So I'm unable to equip it with the "Breen Omni-Directional Cryonic Beam Array" or the "Omni-Directional Chronometric Polaron Beam Array."

It's really disrupting my polaron builds.

So if a dev could go in and change the weapon type from Mission Omni Beam to Heavy Turret, like it's supposed to be, I'd really appreciate it. I assume this would be a 5-10 minute fix, and then another few minutes to test it.

Edit: another option.. just let players equip 2 omni beams regardless of type, so 2x mission or 2x crafted, or 1 of each as we have it now.
Thank you.

The 'morphogenic' part is what's causing the confusion here.

When equipped on a ship that has Turrets, it behaves as a Turret.

When equipped on a ship that uses Beams, it acts as a Beam - thus, also inherits the Omni-beam equip limits.
    (That's one that's part of a set & one that isn't.)

    Therefore, not a bug.

The devs cited balance problems because omnis have certain advantages over turrets, but a few months ago a set omni was mistakenly set to crafted status instead and before they corrected it a lot of parsing tests were done by players that showed that they really did not throw off balance to any significant degree.

I suspect that a lot of the reasons the devs do not allow any two omnis are obsolete because things like the old, fine-grained damage falloff over distance and other old mechanics have been dropped in the streamlining process over the years, but it seems to be one of the points they are stubborn about.

Yeah not a bug. Delving into the More Info it explains that it is both depending on what abilities are being used
Fire at Will & Beam Overload - Beam Weapon
Scatter Volley & Rapid Fire - Turret.
And as said above it counts towards the Set derived Omni-Beam limit. Think the default is as a turret so it gives the blurb for that.
