Regarding ODO in DS9 (and René Auberjonois)

ayexeyenayexeyen Member Posts: 230 Arc User
Hello everyone,

I'd like to discuss the presence of the NPC Odo in Deep Space 9 within Star Trek Online. As many of you may already be aware, Odo made a reappearance in DS9 during the Gamma Quadrant arc (I can't recall the exact moment this happened). However, what troubles me is that upon completing the final mission of the Gamma Quadrant storyline, Odo, along with the Jem'Hadar accompanying him, is removed from DS9. I'm here to express my strong desire to see this change.

For several of my characters, I deliberately haven't completed the Gamma Quadrant arc precisely because I don't want Odo to leave. With the passing of René Auberjonois, the actor who portrayed Odo, keeping his character present in the game is more than just a nod to his importance in the Star Trek universe. It's a heartfelt tribute that holds significance for me, and I believe it resonates with many of you as well.

I still vividly remember the virtual torchlight vigil that many players held in his security office when we learned of René's passing. It was a poignant moment that highlighted the profound impact Odo had on us all.

So, I earnestly request that the developers consider keeping Odo's character permanently in DS9. Let his presence stand as a testament to his enduring significance in Star Trek and as a tribute to René Auberjonois. Please, let's ensure Odo doesn't disappear from our beloved Deep Space 9.

As soon as I read this, I knew you were mistaken OP. Odo is in Quark's talking to Rom on my Fed toon and Jemmy that have both finished the arc.

This post does remind me of an insensitive post made just days after he died asking for him to be removed 'because he and Rom were in the way!'.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

OMG, you are totally right. Can you believe that, with so many NPCs in that bar I didn't notice them at all?
I don't like their location, but I guess it is a fair compromise.

Odo just hanging out with the boys. I believe Arons Nog is also there hanging out. I like it as a tribute.

That might be difficult considering new dialog would not be able to be recorded...
It would have to be recycled from an earlier mission.

Um, what? That's some prime human being there. And that's not even mentioning that there is no problem reaching any place at Quark's whatsoever.
