ya what's going on whit the game it played just fine before the patch but now its so twitchy and laggy and luges to where i cant play it at all r they going to fix it in missing out of the event. !!!!!!!!!
Personally, I'm not experiencing this and it doesn't appear that many others are either. It would seem that this issue is on your end, perhaps with your ISP, somewhere along the route to the Cryptic server, or perhaps your computer. I see that you've posted this in another thread as well. Did you try following the advice you were given there?

yes i did and no the game was working ok befor the patch so it cant be on my end my pc is new so
And as we have to remind people every time something like this comes up, your end and the server farm aren't the only things involved here. There's an entire internet between you, starting with your ISP and going through several nodes en route. Generally, one would assume that if the server itself were experiencing issues, these reports would be widespread, as happened when the server's ISP started employing anti-spam software that mistook MMO traffic for a DDoS attack and slowed us all down.
this game is the only one doing this to me all of my other online game working good like star wars the old republic just tp name one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just did the update and its doing the same thing this game has been more trouble to me i give up im going to star wars the old republic this game just mite diy out if this keeps up

Have you tried turning everything off and back on again ?
As in turn off modem, router and computer, then turning each one back on individually ?

That doesn't mean that there's not something running in the background, hogging resources on your PC, that could be contributing to lag on your end. Plus, as previously stated, there's any possible stop along the internet that could be the issue.

Ok. And? Maybe those games aren't as demanding on your PC as STO. Also, you're traveling along a different path on the internet to get to those servers and so, traffic will be different.

Am I reading this correctly? You think the game will die out just because you are experiencing an issue? 😏

I've been getting issues all bloody morning. yesterday not a peep of an issue on the connection or the last few days before that aside from the occasional lag of spike or disconnection that didn't affect anything. i checked my end and it's fine, no issues. All of a sudden this morning and i've had to login about 20 times just to complete one mission. I left it for about an hour and the issues are still there after just trying to login.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
i know i hop they look in to it i put in a ticket and reported it so well see if they do any thing but evry one tells you that it on you end befor looking in to it.
So, went to log in last night to check on things, got wrapped up in playing. No issues whatsoever with my Delta Romulan, other than the fact that now I have to replay the Khitomer mission because I thought I could ask S'tass about Iconians after responding to his challenge. Turns out I have to do that first.
ya well like i sed the game was working ok befor the patch and now i just cant play it so its not my pc or any thing i just had it looked at and they did not find anything wrong with it
So there's a thousand and one things that can cause lag. Simply because you're lagging it doesn't mean the server itself is at fault. As others have pointed out it's not a straight line from your rig to the servers, even though we all wish we could do that. Between your rig and their servers is like a digital snail mail system. When you press a button to move your ship forward, the command is sent from your rig through several stops along the way ultimately ending up at the servers. The servers send back an acknowledgement and show your ship moving. All of this happens at the speed of light. It's possible for there to be nothing wrong with the servers and nothing wrong with your rig. If something happens between your rig and their servers, there's nothing they can do about it. You can try routing your connection on a different path to the servers, but you still run the same risks. As to what could be wrong, it could be as simple as a squirrel chewing on the line. Which actually happened to me once. Critters chewing on the lines and the ISP had to replace a large portion of line on my street some years ago.
So first thing I'm going to ask, have you ran a tracert to see what's going on between you and the server? Second thing I'm going to ask is what specs you have on your computer. Is it a prebuilt system or a custom build? If it's a prebuilt system i'll need the brand and model type. If it's a custom build I'll need to know what parts you have and your OS. The other thing as others have said, you should make sure there's nothing hogging resources in the background. I play SWTOR and STO both and sometimes I get the occasional bit of lag in both, and some days they're both perfectly fine. Start with the obvious things first and eliminate them.
If this only happened recently with the patch you might want to make sure none of your settings in game were altered by chance. I would also verify your files while you're at it. Since it started around the patch, I would also test out any programs you may have downloaded or updated since then as it's possible something like that could interfere.
Another thing to look for, if you're playing on a wireless router, make sure you don't have it close to a microwave or a phone. Those can disrupt the connection big time, especially if they operate on a similar frequency to your router. I would also make sure the router is set up higher off the ground as that can improve signal range as there is less junk for the signal to pass through before getting to your rig.

Can't log in on PlayStation, I'm typing this on PC, so I know it's not on my end.
The latest Microsoft update for Windows 10 made changes in how OneDrive works in order to make it work better with their Office365 software-as-a-service scheme and it is messing up some games. The problem is that the OS now considers the cloud storage as the primary storage unless you tell it otherwise, and that could be a problem unless you tell windows to keep the files the games store in the "Documents" folder on your PC as the primary instead of the cloud copy.
It helps too if you pause OneDrive altogether when playing some games (ESO is one where that helps for instance) though I am not sure if it matters so much with STO (it depends on how critical the access speed is to the files in "Documents" folder since now OneDrive is competing with the game for bandwidth when the game tries to look at those files).
Another problem, this one in the Web itself, is that packets crossing between CDNs (in short, they are kind of like big territories on the Web run by different companies) often get delayed as they cross. I am lucky in that regard because my ISP is on the same CDN as the STO servers, so the game servers have to get really loaded down before I see much lag from the game itself since there are fewer internet delays.
well im just going to quit and delete the game i cant play it now any way good thing i dont pay to play it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welp... seeing as how this turned into an "I Quit" thread... I might as well just close this.
For the record @albertwjr... people were trying to help narrow down possible reasons for your problem. The easiest to troubleshoot would be on the user end, thus process of elimination would be easiest to start from there.

You don't think so? So you don't know then. And you never acknowledged whether you had tried any of the advice you'd already been given.
