Hi everyone. Both my 55 inch and 70 inch screens were broken during my 13th move to my new house here after that house fire and today found a 50 inch Sony for good price so i'm looking forward to getting back in game and see what's new since I've been offline with no screen for my gamer in months.
The "Raptor Star is back!!
I seem to be having trouble getting game to start though so may need to reinstall I dunno. If I run the launcher without Arc it pulls up fine but I don't want to get in trouble but the problem does seem to be with ARC. Any opinions or suggestions would be helpfull unless my 7-8 months w/o a screen has caused the problem. Let me know what y'all think. Thx in advance.

I'm pretty sure there are players who only run the launcher and they don't get into trouble. Cryptic just wants you to play, I don't think they particularly care if you launch through Arc, Steam or standalone.
Go into the Arc game files and find startrekonline.exe. Put it into a new folder and shortcut it to desktop. Run it and it will do everything for you.
What Windows version are you using, because if it's 7, you're out of luck, it is no longer supported.

It's Windows 10. The error message says error 36, a file is locked and will not open. Anyone heard of this?
Computer is my custom built supergamer.
I think I fixed it. Because my main game drive is malfunctioning when I reinstalled the game I put it in a steam folder on my backup drive. So when my launcher was opened after logging in it was still trying to patch an old malfunctioning installation that I forgot to delete on the main game drive which either it's a bad SATA cable or the drive itself that is malfunctioning ergo the error message.
So under options I went in and changed the installation location to the proper folder and now it's open and patching fine. I'll finally get to see what's new here in about an hour or so-ish. Go figure eh? My gamer has 5 HD's in it and 2 dvdrw drives, one Sony blue ray drive plus a card reader module and a slew of usb ports. 2 of them are ssd;'s and if I have to replace the game drive itself it will get another ssd so, ya, it can be confusing sometimes, lol
I'm just happy it's working.
I thank all of you for your help and hopefully I'll see you in game!
