Today Issue: map loading stuck at 90%

As the title say, I have an issue with map loading from character selection screen is stuck at 90%
Already did the on demand patching switch off, reset my modem, reset my ip, use open dns...still no joy...

can anyone help me??

Hi,

Been having a similar issue since yesterday. Regardless of the character I try to load a map with, it get's to 9x % and stops. I've noticed that sometimes after 10/20 or even 30 minutes the map will load, but the game keeps loading as if it were an insane amout of lag.
Tried force verify, tried everything I thought networkwise. Nothing changed this behavior. Thinking it might be with the ISP (long shot since only happens with STO), I tried creating a hotspot with my phone and connecting to it through Wi fi (different ISP). The map loaded immediately and normally. Tried just the wi fi, with my provider and it also worked fine. Seems to be with ethernet/cable connection. Tried another cable and got the same bad result of the "infinite loading". Tried activating a VPN (which makes the connection super slow) and it also worked, but very, very slow loading (under 2 minutes, though). I don't believe it's the router or ethernet port, because it worked fine until yesterday, I'm only having issues with STO, the VPN worked, and you seem to be facing a very similar if not identical issue.
My "stupid theory" is that these days "something happened" and the cable connection is way too fast for the server to respond and keep open communications between the ISP and STO servers. Slower links seem to function.
Try wi-fi and see if it helps. Good luck!

I finally did it after resetting my modem many..many times, since my ISP has a dynamic IP setting...still slow, bad rubberbanding when enter map, but after a while it goes normal. And also I will try what you suggested using my Wifi from my provider.

but yeah, your "stupid theory" kinda makes sense...since before I have no problem but later that day, if you watch the news Turkiye got hit by earthquake..and the next morning..BAM...my connection to cryptic is a mess other game (War Thunder) not affected thankfully and my wifi is also not affected.

I am having similar problem with "ALL" my toons o my account.. This started on 02/06/2023. The day before everything worked fine.
Next day the launcher acted like it was stuck at around 95-97% took almost 10+ min for game to finish load. Then when I selected a character it took another 5 min to load that character then another 5 min to load the map nothing complicated just beta quad space.
Then it sticks again about 5+ min loading doff missions. This is getting ridiculous. This is happening to every toon on my account.

I have been a player since 2012, so I know a few of the tricks when having lag/load type issues. I have tried forced verify several times, checked my ping between me & game server it falls in the excellent category. I have disconnected my wifi and waited a couple minutes, hell I even unplugged my router for 5 min.

I even de-activated my firewall to see if that would make a difference.

Nothing seems to help, I just got an AFK penalty trying to to do the event daily because I was stuck in load hell, I could see map & other players going threw event progression, it was like my ship was there but it could not do anything, move/fire/speak in chat/ etc. I could swing the view around and see what everyone was doing but that was all. So at the end of STF , I was still stuck there after everyone else had left, it finally kicked me out of the map after the 150 sec timer ended and hit me with afk penalty.

Just a thought I know this occasionally happens, what we players call "Stealth Patches", where a dev puts in some type of small "unannounced patch" during unscheduled times, is possible this was done between 02/05-07/2023 ?

I have waited until today Friday 02/10/2023, after yesterdays patch/shard maintenance to reach out for help as I was hoping the the patch/maintenance would correct the issue, it has not.

I very much would appreciate any help or insight in something else I can do/try to fix this.

for one reason I'm kinda happy that I'm not the only with this problem...but yeah Cryptic should check this asap.

so far the wifi trick from fmgtorres199 work..ish, sometimes is good sometimes is bad with rubberbanding, so I'm stick with my cable for the moment...despite really lag at the first minute or two after entering the map but it goes normally after..

btw, kwyjen and fmgtorres1979, where are you guys from? I'm from Indonesia and wonder if this issue only localized with Asian ISP or not.
