NX and Blended Interiors

I've been wanting an NX-Class interior for a while (not on the Lobi Store please) and I was wondering if anyone else thinks that would be a great addition to the game. Some 2151 vibes, maybe a variant that brings in the bridge from "These Are The Voyages". I would love to see Engineering and the Kitchen and all those things.

Then I was like, man, there are a lot of people in the KDF driving Fed ships now, blended ship interiors that are Fed but have been. . .altered. . .to a more Klingon appearance would be cool. That's a pipe dream though, ha, I don't think they have the time for something like that, but we need more starship interiors in my opinion.

What do you guys think?

Bridges and interiors don't sell well enough to justify developing. the devs have said they won't do an interior unless it's part of an episode

Unfortunately... yea. Unless its part of a mission we're not getting interiors anymore. Wouldn't mind having an NX bridge, but we'll have to wait for the NX to be featured in an episode, including going aboard her.

Oooh very interesting, yeah, despite playing the game since pre-order days I just found out about the forums so I am very far behind on this kind of knowledge.

That explains a lot though.

It takes about as long to make interiors as it would to make mission maps according to Cryptic so making interiors is justified (according to them) only if it's using assets they would make anyway because they're needed for no mission.

I'm all for a NX class interior, like the op i have wanted one for a long time. I visit my bridges frequently, and every time i go afk in space. I do prefer the bridge of the NX 01 over the NX 02, I wasn't too keen on the yellow power conduits running up from the back of the ops area. kind of a bad design anyways, if one of those ruptured in combat, the whole bridge would get vaporized. The operations room from the xindi arc, the mess hall, sick bay, armory, engineering, shuttle bay, corridors, captains mess and ready room, a cargo bay, and nacellles would be super fun. I've heard the argument that no one buys bridges, but i do, I have like like 10 of them.

It's not "absolutely no one ever bought bridges" but rather "not enough for it be worth the cost to make more"

IIRC Dev's have addressed the NX bridge before, in that it would be difficult to incorporate due to it's small size conflicting with the (laxadazical) camera angling.

Yea. The Camera is technically an entity as well. However we do have a small bridge in game, that being the Belfast bridge. So in theory the NX bridge is doable. While the NX Bridge is a bit more cluttered than the Belfast... if done right it might work.

Yes, Taco is still around. He most recently did the new Lexington bridge.

I'd pay dil, lobi or zen for new bridges, but the devs say I'm in the minority so it doesn't make business sense

Since we're not getting them, I'll bring up an alternative again that gets more use out of the bridges we have: let us use every bridge we've unlocked on a captain, for every ship that captain owns. Let my Romulan Liberated Borg use the Tal Shiar interior on any ship he flies, and so on.

Well, if you don't own the Lexington, you can still see it, as it's used during current Terran Arc.

I would like that too (and I use the good bridges a lot too, just not that nasty concrete monstrosity they have as the default bridge).

Unfortunately, I suspect that the database is not flexible enough to support having the purchased bridges separated from the rest and be made available on all ships (they showed it on at least one Ten Forward, and it is a very old and cranky system that they had to kludge up just to do things like the ability to use any faction's ships on any character).

I am pretty sure they would have to have someone go in and manually add all of the c-store ship bridges to all the ships to do something like that, and every ship has to be in the database four times (or something like that), once for each faction, so that is not exactly a trivial task.
