Lighting bug in Q's Winter Wonderland.

Been having occasional lighting issues in Q's Winter Wonderland. It seems to be the same issue that has been popping up for the past few months on Nimbus with the same quick fix solution: turning Lighting 2.0 off and then back on. Pretty sure it isn't just me since I've seen the Nimbus issue occurring on streams and seen the Q's Winter Wonderland lighting issue in some screenshots on twitter.

Got a pic of before and after turning Lighting 2.0 off and back on.

I'm having this issue as well, but on all maps. Toggling between Bloom on and Bloom off, back and forth, temporarily resolves the issue. Same with resetting the graphics to default settings, only on a temporary basis.

Is there a more permanent fix or recommended settings for the graphics card driver itself (GTX 750 TI)? Is this another case of requirements creep?

I have been seeing it too. It is probably not requirements creep, I have an Nvidia 1060 which is teetering on the edge of outdated but not quite there yet (and according to Steam it is the most used card at the moment).

I thought those were just shadows from the trees i didn't notice they weren't always there :o i'll be sure to try it out and see if turning Lighting 2.0 off and on works, but i think it tends to resolve itself too and comes back then goes away randomly. I especially hate the lighting in Earth Spacedock i'm not sure it's meant to look so dark all the time. I have GTX 1650 not sure it's to do with Nvidia GTX family graphics cards though it could just be Lighting 2.0 it's not the best.

It's not just on WW; it's happening on various other maps. I've seen this happen a lot on Nimbus III and Kobali Prime.

Yep! that fixed it by just toggling off and on Lighting 2.0, at least for now until it comes back, i can see now i've noticed in various spots around Qs Wonderland the lighting is dark such as the spot behind the mountain at Black Isle in the Tide of Ice area, i've started hiding behind there but sometimes it's right again and then next time i go it's dark again, i think it's an issue with shadows.

The lighting issue that is happening in Q's Winter Wonderland has been going on in other maps ever since Lighting 2.0 was introduced. Yes, toggling it temporarily fixes it in those maps, you can run away and come back and it's fixed, or run away and come back and it may be broken again (depending on how long the zone section is loaded in memory), it's unstable light rendering. Lighting errors have plagued this game forever, everyone remember the Tholian caves or the Solanae Dyson Sphere mission? The over-blooming that was happening? They just disabled 2.0 on those maps instead of fixing it. If the game had Static Lighting there wouldn't be this many problems. Dynamic Lighting, however, in games require more rendering power (because it's happening in real time) and if not programed correctly produce said errors. I Dyson Ground a lot and there's always lighting errors there. Voth City, just to the right, the Artillery, one of the pillars you stand near, you can rotate the camera view and it will bounce between one shadowing and another. See... there is a real-time light source which gives objects it's shading and it goes nuts because it gets confused. The Q's Winter Wonderland thing to me looks as if it's double exposing the contrast of zoned off sections, maybe either an overlay or multiply effect. Will there be a fix? I'm going to say no. We'll forget about it and next year we'll be talking about it again.

The above is a test, I took a snapshot of one of my...recordings... and applied a multiply filter to the right side in Photoshop, look familiar? It's calculating a zoned off section and layering it on top of itself which causes it to double the lighting effect thus causing the error.

Yeh it's definitely just like that if not the textures or shadows go black in a few areas, i've seen it on Risa now when visiting and other places too the lighting and shadows glitch out and then it will stay right for a while when i turn Lighting 2.0 off and on, but after some random amount of time it will unfix itself again.

I was playing the Winter Event last night and was trying to do the Winter Race. The problem is that this lighting bug in Q's Winter Wonderland is still present and makes it hard to see where the ice is to stay on the track which led to me being disqualified several times. Thankfully, I got credit another way. This is only a problem if you are using Lighting 2.0, if you are using Lighting 1.0 then it displays correctly. On Windows 11, all settings are maxed, and using Nvidia GeForce RTX. Please fix this. Thanks. :)
