Backlog at 8.8 Mil Zen last night, and was still going down.
Noticed that as well. Is this a result of the santa sale or a delayed effect of the removal of some bots.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

It would all be speculation. Could be people giving up/leaving the game as well. Completely anecdotical, however I have also noticed a lot less exchange working going on the last month or two. As an example after the last upgrade weekend which was almost two months ago the pricing on boosters and R&D packs hasn't really dropped as would normally happen. The supply of these is mainly from lockbox pulls... as I say anecdotal. This is why IMO Cryptic should have been on this issue a lot quicker, its a bunch of dominos.
Guess we'll see in a few weeks. If the drop is from sales it should pop right back up and past where it was fast enough. If its people dropping out... we will also know when the exchange numbers drop and the wait stays at 30+ days. If the wait drops to 20 or so days then we know the number of players hasn't much changed.

Since there is no time limit on the exchange and since people who leave most likely don't bother taking stuff off the reason for the drop in backlog is most likely not an exodus.
With the current rate at which orders are processed on average a lack of renewal offers is not a likely cause either.
The last upheaval with some content creators departing was roughly 2-3 months ago so a delayed response would be expected from that roughly 1.5 months ago.
It's all speculation though.

Jeez, I put Zen up for sale and get Dilithium within microseconds. In the 9 or so years I've been playing this game I've only bought Zen with Dilithium one time. If I want Zen I will buy it with cash. This is my leisure activity and since I don't spend recreational funds on movies, sports, coffee, beer, smokes and the like I will spend it here.
Okay, but that is the difference between buying Zen and selling Zen.
The greater demand is for Zen over dilithium. That is why there is a backlog on orders.
You want to spend money for Zen? Good for you. A lot of people do. It doesn't mean that people don't use the exchange or *also* use the exchange in addition to buying Zen with real money.
=============
I put in some orders at the end of the year. Nothing yet, and no surprise there.
The backlog is sitting at 8,509, 052 as I type this.

Well its only speculation until we cross the wait time threshold. Which has been 30-35 days for awhile. If the exchange having dropped to 8.3 stays there, and the wait on dill conversions placed say today are still 30-35 days. Then we know that one of two things is true. 1) the number of players is reduced or 2) the number of players has remained the same but they are not attempting to convert dill to zen. I would be speculating but I would say of those two options 1 is many times more likely in that scenario.
We can revisit the first week of Feb... if people placing orders now are still waiting. We have some pretty firm answers.

FYI, for those of us in the US that's, 12/4 and 1/8. This has been a Public Service Announcement. Now back to your regularly scheduled program. 😉

I guess this proves about the mass bots in Elite SB24 farming dill. I know the devs say there is no evidence but look at the evidence the players found and as soon as SB24 Elite is stopped for an event dill flooding the market stops.
The exchange was dropping long before this event started - at least a good two months or more. So it wasn't the excluding of a specific queue that caused it, but more likely the mass-banning of hundreds of thousands of bot accounts.
But whatever the reason is doesn't really matter - the fact the exchange IS dropping is all that matters...and if it keeps its current course, we should be back to offers completing instantly (or at least within a few minutes) by spring or maybe just on the cusp of summer at the absolute latest.

Lets keep the speculation out of this thread and focus on tracking the duration please. Speculation on the causes will just derail, and could potentially get heated in some cases.

Looks like the huge backlog from dilithium selling bot accounts has dried up.
Had a small offer of 125 up and it came through in about a week.
We'll have to see just how much those bot accounts actually hindered (some may say facilitated,,) the DilEx

Backlog is over. Zen on the exchange now. I'm sure more then a few sellers where confused this morning. Haven't had to sell for less then 500 in a very long time.
Well through the artificial influx prices were kept at an all time high so in my opinion it is a good thing for the prices to stabilize at a natural non inflated rate,

Seemed it dropped to 490 for a short time but climbed back to 494 when I just got up this morning. Not as big a drop as I had hoped.
Its all speculation... but potential robot issues aside. PC game is still a 14 year old game where the oldest players still have little need for dill other then the odd new item here and there maybe to upgrade if you really don't have a stack of ultimate upgrades at this point.
Speculation warning. Take the playstation platform price and add 100-150 to the price. Which means we are probably looking at a 450-500 stabilization. I would say 490 type range is expected. We'll have too look back on a week when the speculators from the last few days decide they want their zen back.

We should also consider that part of the market crash may also have been the COVID Pandemic. Now that we're pretty much clear of it actual real world economies, including the playerbase's disposable income, is probably stabilizing more.
My 2 ECs anyways. its probably a combination of factors. We still need Dilithium Demand to help keep the market stable and healthy, but its a good sign that we're back to something resembling a functional Exchange rather than a month long line.

I couldn't agree more and there was plenty of suggestions in the past NONE which has been actually put into action by the DEVs. That does bother me some because it was Cryptic who ask the Players for suggestions and they came and came and came but in the end nothing came of it. Bothersome to say the least...

To be fair a lot of suggestions were only kicking the can down the road or directly cut into income. While there were a few that didn't, a lot did.
And as of right now we don't know what they're bouncing around in the office right now. It is possible that a few community ideas are being considered as well. They just aren't under any obligation to give us running commentary on what is going on.

Rumors are after making a statement that the President of the United Federation of Planets has no control over the price of dilithium, President Aennik Okeg has claimed full credit stating his dilflation reduction program is working.

Noticed that as well. Is this a result of the santa sale or a delayed effect of the removal of some bots.
