It's when your ship is in imminent danger, usually from enemy attack. You declare a Red Alert, and all personnel rush to their combat-duty stations.

I suspect Star Trek Online Dev's know more about Picard than we do.

The new Borg Queen in game graphics seems to match what we have seen in Picard clips...
Also the new aesthetic is GORGEOUS and FINALLY FEELS LIKE STAR TREK!

Sto mis-spelled Canon, and so they may be launching in game Picard content. I suspect the new Stargazer will be in game, and the mirror universe emperor is Picard, they got Patrick Stewart in game.

I really love the new Starfleet Uniforms from Picard Season 2, we better get those sooner than later.

The interiors for the Jupiter station are really pretty and true to trek, and I'd like that new Oddessey bridge variation.

New Borg Queen Graphics? Also how is this at all relevant to this current thread?

As for what is a Red Alert, Star Trek has had 3 basic alert conditions since TOS IIRC, Condition Green which means no hostile targets or dangerous elements are present (it's essentially normal operation conditions), condition Yellow (aka Yellow Alert) hostile targets or dangerous elements are potentially present or that those are present but not active and you should prepare for them. Last but not least is Condition Red (aka Red Alert) which mean confirmed hostile targets or dangerous elements are present and active and personal should report to their alert stations and be ready to deal with danger present (be it combat or something else).

the Red Alert in the Red Alert event is that simply extended to a sector or planetary system.

In other Star Trek games, it usually worked like Green = No shields or weapons, Yellow = Raise shields, no weapons and Red = Raise shields, arming weapons (whenever I think of it, I still hear George Takei and Walter Koenig in their respective roles from the PC game 'Star Trek: 25th Anniversary'. Sulu would report 'Raising shields' and Chekov 'Arming weapons').

STO sadly never had a true system for that as there is only combat in space and that is so simplified we're always on red alert, basically.

The actual info graphic 'Red Alert' in game informs you of being in combat and remains for a while once the enemy is gone. This is a lore friendly way to indicate the classic MMORPG 'combat' status, because some skills only work in combat and some only out-of-combat.

In our world of current Trek television productions, it's obvious that cross-promotion will continue to happen. Of course, STO will celebrate every series season premiere to one degree or another. The mystery is what does this mean for our current player-base inside of Star Trek Online?

Which has been my main question all week. At a minimum, a free uniform costume to claim for our account? Story influence wouldn't likely be felt in STO until Season two has broadcast. So our Devs have opportunity to wrap their minds around specific inspiration to retroactively integrate into their game. YMMV.

If they change the bulb, maybe we could even have Purple Alert (or was it more of a Mauve Alert?) - just saying... :)

Cannon is not a mis-spell of canon. Cannon is obviously a code-word (as well as being a weapon). The Borg Queen in-game is the updated version from when they updated it 2 years ago.

Reddit thinks the reveal is going to be Emperor Picard coming in time for Picard S2

    GhostParallax says:

“‘"Znlor gur ovttrfg’ makes ‘Maybe the biggest’ with rot13 decipher ...

Biggest annoucement ? Biggest VA to join STO (mirror emperor ?) ? Biggest ship bundle ? I'm getting really curious -

Cannon 7, 6, 5 so definitely a countdown where 1 lands on wednesday and 0 lands on thursday, same date as DSC S4E11 & PIC S2E01 ...

We had a Gagarin and Ross in the first two tweets, but I don't thinks there's any in the third and fourth tweet.”

Part of me wondered that exact same thing, it would be nice if Picard made mention of New Romulus forming... ...yet season One did show Romulan's working on Borg Cube to understand their technology more. Still it's been mostly subtle references to what we've seen Picard Season 1.

I also suggested during the stream last week, the Emperor might be Picard. We'll likely have to wait till next Thursday/Friday to start to find out together as people watch. I'm most excited about the return of Q.

The next tease hit Facebook. Next translated word is: News.

Maybe The Biggest News...(Ever? for our next tease?). Up until now I felt the biggest news for the game was getting the Mulgrew voiceover work. Only Patrick Stewart could surpass that level of awesome. I will make that my guess. And wait to see.

The problem with that idea is that if its supposed to be STO's New Romulus, that was in 2409. At the point Picard takes place in, the Romulans are STILL reeling from the loss of their homeworld, and have no unifying government really. Its probably all just splinter factions trying to survive.
ill admit i usually am not happy they dont share stuff on the official forums, but the stupid past few teasers they can keep from here.

Honestly I still don't know what's going on, but it fits the pattern of some of their previous puzzles leading up to something big. We may not have any audio clips this time, but we got a word puzzle. And far as I know those kinds of things were never on the forums anyways. Just people discussing it. Its more of a social media campaign to build hype for something major than actual news for the forums.

And for the most part it works. I mean a lot of people are trying to figure out what it means and discussing ideas. Which may be the intent.

In the first season of Picard, there were a number of splinter Romulan "governments". The two leading factions at the time appeared to be the remainder of the RSE and the Romulan Free State, but the RFS seemed to have sunk most of its resources into the Borg cube that was destroyed, so they might have fallen into the background. The Romulan Republic didn't really become a notable power until around 2405, as far as I can tell, and they didn't find and occupy mol'Rihan until 2409.

One thing CBS could show if they wanted to tie the game and the show together more would be Virinat, the time PIC takes place it would be jammed full of refugees and in distress from the overload of new people. It probably would not be worth an episode (though I can think of a few possibilities), but it would definitely be worth a few lines of throwaway dialog for the easter egg effect. And with "the road not taken" it could have been something a lot more significant in Q's alternate timeline.
