Account server borked

Something happened when I was beaming up from ESD to space. The progress numbers just stopped, very close to 100. And then it sat there. Finally I gave up and killed the client and tried to login again. It's now impossible to login. The client shows the "Connecting to Account server." message, and then sits there.

    Not only the Account server is borked. I started another machine and let the copy of STO on that one update. Except it could not update. It got to 100 percent and then just sat there. Noticing a pattern here?

    When I killed it and restarted, hoping it might notice it had fully patched, it decided it needs to download a full GIGABYTE of data now. When it was fully patched before... this is getting worse and worse.
