    Except that they've rendered this promotion DOA with a huge sale + Zen charge bonus.

    Probably preplanned as everyone has a summer sale around now. Of course it suggests with all these recent zen sales that they are trying to attract more zen buyers as well, so its not just devalued dil that is the problem but perhaps a slowdown of zen buys.

    Good news everyone! Apparently they are bound to account even after being equipped!

    I would probably get a few shields if I had the dil at the moment, (a few of my captains have main ships that do not take ship tailor customizations well), but between the recruitments and the upgrade weekend lately I don't have a lot of it refined yet even on the ones who are not mostly drained of ore in the first place.

    Hopefully they run it again when I have more of a stockpile ready.

    can you xfer to another toon?

    It worked on Tribble. I copied a Fed, KDF, and Rom over and bought all the shields on my Fed then transferred them to both my KDF and Roms to test out the visuals. If this isn't a bug this is really good.

    found this vid on YT.

    note: i do not sub to any YT channels, nor am i endorsing any. i found this while searching for the looks of the shields. the looks start at approx 7 mins after he discusses some other things, which i didnt pay attention to as all i wanted was to see them.

    good vid for the dil shield event.

    I don't think anyone assumes you endorse or sub to YouTube channels if you post a vid. Odds are if you didn't, someone else would have found that same vid given enough time.

    Nice! I'm happy to have guessed wrong about that. I can buy a few without worrying about doing it on the wrong captain.

    At first glance, I thought this was already a good deal. But account bound? That is an incredible deal.

    I'm, dare I say, possibly giddy & hoping I have enough dilithium to buy all 10.

    Well... if you don't now... it does sound like they have plans to bring this up again in the future, maybe with a few more offerings.

    I'm just very pleased with how Cryptic released these vanity shields. This way, if I can afford it, I can purchase all 10 then switch them around & test them out on all my toons' starships & see which I like & dislike then plan accordingly to purchase more if wanted.

    Yup. They're hitting this one out of the ballpark so far. I think the only argument some people will have now will be price, but it doesn't really hold water IMO, especially now with the announcement that they are account bound.

    Agreed, the account bound nature of them has me considering just buying all of them. I have already dumped more of my Dilithium then I originally planned, too good to pass up.

    I'm considering getting at least one myself. I still want to build up my zen for a future potential Legendary Bugship, but I'll wait for the market to at least be more stable before I go back to my grind.

    My time as a F2P has taught me patience. Also frustration due to price fluctuation. lol *mutters about the Atlas when I was working towards that one*

    I bought the Section 31 because I've been wanting it for ages - which I would've done even if it was character bound, like we initially thought. Best dilithium I've spent recently.
    I'll watch the video @keepcalmchiveon posted to get a look at the rest, because I've never bothered until now - what with them being so rare and exceedingly expensive to get otherwise - but I could go for another one, at the very least.

    Ci sono tre tipi di giocatori:
    - quelli a cui non va mai bene niente... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che sono talmente imbesuiti da credere a qualunque cosa i dev dicano, perfino che la luna è fatta di formaggio... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che credono a quello a cui è giusto credere, sono d'accordo con quello con cui è giusto essere d'accordo e sono critici con quello che non va;

    Ai giocatori dei primi due tipi, gratis in omaggio un bello specchio lucente su cui arrampicarsi. E una mazzata in testa per la loro poca intelligenza e compassione verso gli altri giocatori che non la pensano come loro.

    I'm thinking of the Kelvin Divergence one myself. Curious how it would look on a Disco D7. In my experience so far... there are some elements on the Disco D7 that just look off with anything but the Disco D7 hull material, specifically a section on the pylons that suddenly become light elements or something, sharing the textures with the warp field grills on the nacelles.
    Also wouldn't mind the Section 31 either.

    The Kelvin divergence one is pretty nice klingon side. I've wanted the shield for a while to use on the alliance bop from last anniversary. Makes it look like an actual klingon ship

    I have to admit, I'm really loving the Borg Shield on just about every ship I've previewed it on. It's got just enough blue and yellow glowing circuitry detailing to make it pop without being overbearing.

    ..I doubt I'll be able to resist the temptation to pick it up more than once..

    Yea I believe KDF side the Kelvin Divergence one is basically the Kelvin D7 hull material.

    280,000 dilithium each.... the equivalent of 560 Zen... or 35 character/days refining... for a single character purchase.

    I don't know, but that seems high to me.

    I got a ba'ul Vanity Shield today, for my Klink, for roughly the price of a single Fleet Ship module. I don't know, but that seems low to me.

    yes it is. since AKeal provided account lock, not toon lock and it seems you can xfer from toon to toon, then imma pick up a few.

    thanks for this cryptic. i appreciate this in many ways. +1 for yall.

    update. cant mail to klink toons. only to fed. these are not account swappable then. unless i am missing something. or do i reclaim them on the other toons like other dil stuff?

    (sorry, i logged so i cant check right now)

    Why use mail when you can just drop it in the account bank?
