    I agree.
    BUT
what will happen when those kinds of bundles become the norm and thus one side of the argument ends up with nothing of their own anymore?

Pretty sure the older bundles you were referencing didn't include lobi outfits either. However in regards to any bundle, to each their own.

I mentioned that 🙂, and that's why I didn't say the bundle should be 4k zen like the previous one, I was just using that as a starting point for finding what I consider to be the appropriate price for this bundle while taking into account the fact that it does have extra stuff.

People who care about the uniforms will buy the bundle.

People who want one or two ships will buy those ships.

People who want neither will buy neither.

    Simple.

They also announced that players can pick up the ships individually in the C-Store as normal as well. I guess it would be no different than the theme bundles like the Intrepid. Maybe if it included a TMP bridge it would be more interesting, but... it is a TMP era themed bundle.

And before anyone says anything about the Malachouski not being TMP era, she's gonna be compatible with all light cruiser parts, so you can make her look like a Miranda.

However it boggles my mind they can give people deals like this, which cost far less than what they should, and some people STILL complain.

It boggles MY mind that you actually consider this bundle a deal at all. I doubt anyone cares about the fleet module and Experimental Upgrade, infact I keep forgetting they're even there (I already have a stack of each rotting away in my account bank), so the subjective "value" they provide is non-existent.

The subjective value of certain items in the bundle doesn't change the objective fact that buying the bundle is cheaper than buying all of the parts individually.

And which side brings the most money and thus will send a "that means we should make more of these and focus less and less on the rest for easy money" to the higher-ups?

As I mentioned earlier, in 2006, $2.50 for an armor pack was near-unanimously ridiculed for a full-priced game. We're now in 2020, games are even more expensive and micro-transactions are such the norm that when a team announces they're releasing a game with no transactions whatsoever, it's considered such an anomaly some people go "it makes me want to purchase the game just for that".

I remember the Oblivion Horse Armor...at least Bethesda Made up for that with some decent housing DLCs and Shivering Isles - the best Expansion DLC they're ever done for any Elder Scrolls game.

I'm not talking about the mechanics - I don't care about mechanics that I just mod away anyway - it's the best for how Sheogorath was portrayed, and voiced by Wes Johnson...before that point, despite being repeatedly referred to as a 'Madgod', we didn't actually SEE any of that in his interactions through Daggerfall or Morrowind...and while we did see some of it in the base Oblivion, the voice they used just couldn't hold a candle.

Shivering Isles actually depicted him as a properly insane godlike being, and delivered some of the most memorable lines in the franchise at the same time - and Bethesda knew they hit a winner there, because they used the same VA in Skyrim, and I think ZOS also brought him in for ESO...unlike other Daedric princes whose VA changed with every game.

ALL of these choices are available for this bundle, not just the full bundle or nothing. If they learn that offering ALL choices leads to more money for them isn't that a good thing not bad?

They are offering this bundle 16 months after the first Legendary bundle and 19 months after Mudd's Market which are all-or-nothing offerings.

They are increasing choice compared to Mudd's and Legendary with this offer not taking choice away.

It's a separate discussion to ask "should STO cost $70 + $10 a month, with piles of free ships"? And a moot point since there is zero chance of that happening.

Even if you only want the ships it’s better to buy the bundle while it’s discounted.

Buying the ships gets you 2 account unlock T6 ships.

The bundle gets you 2 account unlock T6 ships with two individual ships effectively upgraded to fleet T6X.

Even if you don’t want the other stuff, that’s still better than the example someone mentioned of a two ship bundle at 4000z with the fleet modules and upgrades on top.

True if you need the T6X tokens and want both ships right now instead of waiting for a 20%-30% off ship sale.

For me, I have 10 T6X tokens I haven't gotten around to using yet and I get more from Phoenix boxes and Red Alert events so the tokens are nice but not a high value.

with one glaring exception that I can think of, the Gamma and Cardassian bundles had both T5 and T6 ships, but only the T6s were sold separately

That's because the T5s were lockbox and Lobi ships, if the Gamma bundle was released today there's a possibility it might have featured the T6 variants instead but they would still be exclusive to the bundle and not available separately.
