It does yes, sort of like the

    or

Heheh, maybe at the time when Enterprise was on, the previously Unidentified Vessel was in fact Breen.

Triglobulin harvester's starship as it's referred to as, was in fact unidentified.

"This unidentified hostile alien vessel possessed high-yield particle weapons, heavy deflector shielding, a tractor beam and a grappling/drill used for piercing starship hulls."

Perhaps STO recognized this ship frame and used it to inspire the Breen look we see today? Still a good catch.

Sure, I have the same opinion. Maybe They are Breen predecessors or someone who later joined the Breen Confederacy. There is no Starfleet police in 22. century and space is full of pirates.

Fun fact... that ship actually being Breen has been an actual theory within parts of the fandom for a long time now.

And since they never saw another one again it could even be a single captured Breen ship crewed by some sort of pirates so it does not necessarily need to impact the Breen background if the writers decide to take the Breen past in a different direction.

It's not bad looking. I assume Cryptic has a whole pile of ships waiting for the right time to get made.

While parts of it do look Breen, its too symetrical.
Well... if Cryptic does bring it in, I guess we'll see which way they lean.

No... they already ran into the Elachi, and that's when Enterprise equipped Phase Cannons. And the tech doesn't line up with Elachi, and neither does the MO.
