I have been doing STO since close to Beta and I have seen my share of the great, not so great and the bad in terms of patches, updates and expansions. What has happened to this latest " House Shattered" update is IMHO one of the top most disasters in STO history.
I love this game and support every DEV working hard on this MMO but management does have responsibility and something to say about these late issues.
The game for some of us is unplayable. To cite a few of the most critical issues missing characters, invalid skill points, missing chat service, graphics driver incompatibility, long queues to log in, limited server capacity and getting thrown out of the game constantly plus many others...What gives? I know there is a lot of good people working to fix these issues but would be nice once this is finally fixed, Mr Executive Producer should update the community with what is going on.
At least in the past DStahl and Riscosa used to communicate with the playerbase once in a while. The buck stops with management and I have not heard much in the different social media but devs being inundated with issues.
Don't let Devs take most of the burden. It reflects a broken system that needs some leadership to fix in the long term for the sake of STO.

Communication has been something Cryptic Studios has been lacking in for quite some time now. What I mean by that is something other than a copy/paste of old, recycled messages like what we get for events. They can't even be bothered to change the dates to what they are supposed to be. That is NOT communication, that is simply laziness.

They even stopped the roadmaps as well - also my impression is their team has shrinked a bit but not drastically. Kael can make a bit better job visiting the forums more often too although I realise he has two games under his duties and setting things from working from distance may have reduced overall efficiency
But I do think more communication is needed in general, especially on game-breaking bugs.

I wouldn't be surprised if the overall Cryptic bosses decided to shuffle some people over to Magic again. They are running 3 MMOs (STO, NW, CO), working on a 4th (Magic).
Does kinda irk me when they shuffle people around. But... *sigh* business is business. And if you want to get more people working on a project without hiring more... shuffle shuffle.
Not saying that's what they did though. Its just a plausible theory. Even the STO head man himself has a boss in the overall umbrella that is Cryptic.
