The problem is GPU overheating.
On one mission in particular, "What's Left Behind", when I'm on the Elachi station, my GPU heats up to about 72-73C, whereas almost everywhere else, it maybe tops out at 60C on a hot day. My monitoring program even said it hit 80C at one point. I have VSync turned on, and about half the settings turned off. I have a GTX 1080 graphics card. I've heard people say "oh, that's no big deal". I'm sorry, but I can't afford to replace computer parts if they cook off for any reason. I have to baby this card.
A side note: I do not have this problem whatsoever in Neverwinter Online, it never once goes above 62C in that game.
Anyone have any ideas what's going on, how to fix the issue, or both? Thank you.
