Who loves the Small Ships?? Whats your Go to?

bcstarbcstar Member Posts: 335 Arc User
Dunno for a long, long time I just wanted the biggest baddest ship to sit in but lately, I am starting to really like the small ships these days. My Go to is the Blockade Runner, not sure how rare it is but I have only seen one aside from mine over the years. Its upgraded to T5U I really want to run TFO's with it and hang out in the badlands looking for those Terran ships lol. its tough little ship. I need to add slots to it at some point though it could use a couple more weapon slots I am thinking.

Anyhow what's your favourite Small ship? LOL

I'd have to say the Bajoran Interceptor.

Small, tough, manoeuvres well and hits hard - basically fun to fly all round, and it looks good too.

Any chance you know what the current smallest T6 is? I am guessing the Enterprise from the golden days of ST. But the Defiant is quite small, I might have to take a look and see what's Available for Rom. Not sure on the warbird I used my upgrade on the Blockade Runner. hmm

While they are fun to pilot at times the smaller escorts just tend to be lacking being overly fragile compared to the dreadnoughts and cruisers without really having much of a perk for it.

That being said I do like the Bajoran Interceptor and the Science Pilot Warbird myself

My favorite small ship is probably the JJ-Bird of Prey. It has the exact feel that I wish the T6 B'rel had since it has pilot maneuvers. It also has 5/1 weapons instead of 4/2 for the B'rel.

Honorable mention goes to the Kazon Heavy Raider. Mostly because I like flying ships that no one else is flying. And the Kazon Raider takes the cake in that department. It has a pretty good boff layout for a T5-U also. You can get surprisingly good numbers out of it.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

I still want the fidget spinner. It's so small, you can hear it better than you can see it. B)

I haven't lined them all up, but I think the smallest is the Maquis Raider, it's really small. The TOS Enterprise is pretty small too, considerably smaller then the Discovery Enterprise.

My personal favorite small ship is the Earhart Strike Wing Escort.. I just really like the ship and have a lot of fun flying it using a DBB Phaser layout. My other favorites are the Andorian Kuthar and the T5U Fleet Patrol Escort.

I don't know how big the new Defiant is, but it feels pretty small ("Size doesn't matter" anyway -- or so we're supposed to say). It's a frakkin' awesome ship, though. Due to some innovative thinking on my end (ahem), I was able to slot CSV3, FAW2, and TS3, and all down to global for perma-uptime, sans having to resort to A2B. I can tell you, that wee ship kicks some major TRIBBLE!

My favorite would have to be the NX, infact the only other small ship I even use is a promo TOS Connie using the Excalibur parts.

You realize I was just kidding, right? ;) I always have been, and still am, very happy that you got yours. And I could never afford one either... until Cryptic released this anni bundle.

Somewhat same here, the only reason I had one before the new bundle was unbelievable luck. When the JHAS came out I purchased a few promo packs and pulled it on my 4th or 5th one, then when the Connie promo ship came out I tried the same thing and got it in my FIRST pack. I still can't believe that luck, but I guess I've used it all up cause I keep trying for a Universe Class each time they bring it back and never get anything anymore.

Gotta be the NX. Handles more easily than a Pilot ship, and packs a whallop. Way more 'over-powered and over-gunned' for a ship of it's size. Normally I fly a Vesta, which will shift to the Legendary Intrepid once I can afford it

The current smallest T6 ship is probably either the Vulcan T'Pau scout ship or the Jellyfish.

Still a bit pricey for me.

The ranger is a close alternative, though, as is the Daedalus.

As to small, my D4X is pretty small. I like the thing. A lot. But I'm not quite good enough to pilot it with mouse and keyboard. Reflexes have slowed as I've gotten older.

It's from the RnD/doff promotion packs, so you eithter get incredible lucky or drop a billion EC.

My favourite "small" ship is the Reliant class followed by the dewan toilet brush ships.
  • echattyechatty Member Posts: 5,918 Arc User
Oh yeah, I like the Reliant. I got it through a promotion recently and put it on my newest captain. It packs quite a wallop.

I also like the T'Pau. I use it a lot and it packs a nice sciency wallop.
Now a LTS and loving it.

I am surprised no one has mentioned the one I favor yet. Yes I can here people already, "Oh lord here goes Riz and that damned Vette again!"...

But my fav little ship has got to be the T6 Pilot Corvette from this last years Summer event. Tough, agile, and can dish out some damage. It also has so many different options for it's looks.

While i generally used small ships, the corvettes never hit the spot for em. Personally i find them to be too much of a one trick pony.

One ship which for me is never far from my ship inventory on any faction is the T5/T6 T'Varo. There is just something satisfying about dropping a big red ball of doom on an opponent from near point blank range.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

The Defiant class. I usually kitbash in the Sao Paolo nacelles. With the new Legendary bundle it is even better than ever before.

Right now my favorite small ship is the Lukari Dorito (with the flying saucer skin) closely followed by the Dewan science toilet brush ship.

The corvette and the T'pau are nice too, especially for wild action (in the scenarios that do not feature mass waves of enemies that lag out the combat that is). I only have the basic T6 corvette, not the Pilot version though or it might be up with the first two.

The winged kielbasa from DSC and the ersatz Cylon raider (both from the cancer research promotion) are good ships (a close third) though they seem to be glass canons more than the others. I have not quite worked out how to compensate for that extra-fragile problem yet for these.

While I've migrated to the Khitomer I do love the Kor. Mine was mostly B'rel with the Kor hull and naceles. She's small, iconic and fun but too squishy for allot of the content with my lack of decent gear.

Freedom, J'Day, or one of the Lukari ships possibly as well.
