Well not the OG
TOS Klingons as they appeared in
TOS but rather how Kor, Kang and Kolth appear in
Deep Space Nine.
I was creating a Klingon character last week and I was trying to get as close to a
DS9 Kor aesthetic as possible. While I managed to come close with the costume, I was amazed by how underwhelming the Klingon presets and customisation is when it comes to the hair, head and ridges. Sure the other factions are probably just the same, but other races in the game seem more visually impressive in that they seem to be at a higher resolution to their Klingon counterparts. Besides the 'Mogh' and 'Kahless' ridges, the generic ridge options don't have enough individuality. Even the beard options, while some of the goatees are impressive, aren't quite 'Klingon' enough in my opinion. Where's the forked goatees and high piled permed hair? Where's the drama in a dagger shaped beard that looks like a Terran peta'Q would wear fire bombing a Ferengi moon?
This got me thinking about my muse, Kor. And by extension Kang and Koloth. I would love to see some cosmetic items added to honor these Trek icons. We've had uniforms and other items added to reference new series like
Discovery and
Picard, different iterations of Starfleet, different costumes work by
TOS characters like Kirk and Scotty and even episode specific uniforms from 'Yesterday's Enterprise' and 'All Good Things'. So why not Trek's three original Klingons? I would love their 'house' ridges to be added to the game, as well their individual hairstyles, beards added to the game and screen accurate costume options to set them apart from the base Klingon uniform options.
Does anyone else agree or have thoughts on this?

Yeah, D-7 is my long term plan.
I won't touch feds till I get the Khitomer ship and mirror uniforms as I hate the boring look of fed toons. KDF get the best choices for unique customisation buts as you said, just needs a little bit more to make them right.
Also if you look at the concept art from LoR there was some nice outfit designs I'd like to see and some hairstyles.

You're not wrong, though I think there's a boring quality to both KDF and Fed presets. Certainly it took me some time to get my TOS McCoy-esque character (my main character in STO, though hopefully I'll get more into playing as Korloth as time passes) looking the way I wanted. I do have a vanilla Starfleet character, though he's based on a Tuvok aesthetic.
Hopefully in time we'll see episode / movie specific items for the KDF. If not they're really missing a beat. I mean, I'd certainly be willing to pay for a pack of their costumes, I don't you about you.

Agreed! It would be a nice addition to TOS characters 👍

- Remove the "off duty" restriction completely, from everything.
- Let us use the full RGB for palettes. Maybe keep the existing weird mismatched palettes so people can follow existing style guides, but then let us also pick any other colors that we want.
Besides that, more costumes and hairstyles for all factions is a good thing.
Also Cage and first season TOS uniforms that actually have the velvet sheen to the tunics/dresses. They come close with the TOS medical tunic though it does not actually have the proper shimmer (though I suppose the shimmer might be difficult to do on something besides black leather like the Reman uniforms).
Some more skin colors for the "alien" generator would be great too. Right now I have an albino Ithenite (or Dayan, both names have been used for the small, fez-hat wearing race) because the dark copper color is not available for skin. Likewise, more eye color options would be great, some aliens on the show have yellow, red, black, or other odd eye colors, not just green, blue, and brown.
While the hair is being worked on, how about a full head version of "shaved and curly" without the shaved part? The new "long wavy" style is great btw.
A few more tattoos might be good too, when I made my Vaalian captain there was only one tattoo that would work for her cheek symbol for instance.
Another thing that would be nice though it is a bit tangential to the subject is a weapons skin option to shrink the oversized anime style weapons down to something more realistic.
> I've been disappointed in Klingon hair options especially for a while. While theyve been updating normal human like hair to look so much better, klingon hair has been left looking like spaghetti being shown on a playstation 1. The ferengi are in a similar boat, with the actual ferengi like Quark looking so nice you'd think theyd have updated player ferengi but nooooo. And it's extremely noticeable the drop in quality between the too.
I totally agree. In fact you've put it better than I did in my post. The Klingon hair / facial hair options look especially underwhelming and angular when there are much smoother textures employed for other factions that have had more work done.
The fact that many of the long hair options for the Klingons revolves around dreadlocks is also a bit strange, so far as I know most on screen Klingons in the TNG era had either long straight or thick curly hair, certainly the main Klingon character did - which is surely the type of look that most people with TNG Klingon characters would be trying to affect.
I can't imagine that logistics of updating every race / faction constantly, and I'm sure that some would be bound to get left behind for a period, but it is my hope that we do see some improvements and additions to the Klingon side and the Klingon race in general.
The kind of cosmetic pack with Kor, Kang and Koloth related items - being the original Klingons - would be a step in the right direction for me, but then again so would releasing player versions of costumes and hairstyles used on the likes of Worf, Kurn and Martok. Not to mention an option for a scarred over eye like Martok. There are so many options to make as many additions to the Klingon side as there has been for Federation / Starfleet factions. I can only hope that we begin to see these additions sooner rather than later.
All that said, a group of players having this discussion is a step in the right direction. If we can spread the word maybe the developers will take note and begin to work towards making our wants become a reality in game.
I'll take the Indy Fedora.
This. Very much this.

- Additional Cardassian pieces like badges to go with the revamped uniforms
- Nemesis Romulan Uniforms
- More hats of any kind (Hats are awesome)
- More hairstyles and facial hair including some really insane ones (put them in the dil store or lock boxes if need be) SEE BELOW
- Definitely some kind of cross-promotion in game Nikes, Air Jordans or Adidas (I know it's completely ridiculous and won't happen but I don't care)

It's not like it would be entirely unheard of, either. We already have baseball uniforms, swimsuits, ugly christmas sweaters, tuxedos... And they can all be worn in missions, so we're already past the point of reason.
