'This is the end of any chance of new Romulan Ships!'
'Freddie Bears will now have access to Battle Cloaks on their own ships!'
'This will be Federation takeover!'
The practical matter is the Ships will be similar in use as the 31st Century Bundle - same ships for use by all Factions. They won't need to create a KDF and Federation version. But they can get back to doing 3-packs with Science, Engineering, and Tactical versions. So no need for 9 (12)-packs as the 3-pack will serve all Factions.
'But to be logical is not to be right', and 'nothing' on God's earth could ever 'make it' right!'
Judge Dan Haywood
'As l speak now, the words are forming in my head.
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Looks to me like the 10th Anniversary ship will be a new design, incorporating design elements from Fed, Klink, Rom, and Jem concepts. I'm intrigued.

I don't see them totally ditching faction specific ships, but I do see them using this concept in the future to avoid megabundles that have 3 variants for all 4 factions. It was getting rediculus already with the addition of Romulans. Throwing in Jem'hadar as well just increases the workload. I mean before it was 6 ships, 3 fed/3 KDF. Then we got Romulans. That bumped it up to 9 ships they had to design. Now with Jem'Hadar, they'd have to design 12 ships. That's just too much work, especially if Jem'Hadar and Romulans can use allied ships. Why bother other than for immersion purposes for the player to pump out that many ships so often?
I bet we'll still see smaller bundles with 1 variant for each faction, but for the future of megabundles... this possible Hybrid style will probably be the way to go in order to keep from burning the designers out or ending up with substandard designs due to workload and time tables.
Sounds like we are going to get ships that use design elements from all 4 factions.

Wouldn't be the first time a game's ventured into joint projects between superpowers.
Unity 1 from SFC3. Supposed to have the most advanced sensors in the quadrant, and could track even cloaked ships. Built on the border of the Romulan Neutral Zone in the late 24th Century.
You can guess how the Romulans felt about that one.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Hard to tell where they're going with this. It seems a bit tricky/unwieldy to try and make a ship with elements from 3/4 factions. (Not that it wouldn't be interesting to see them try.)
They might end up with doing something like, the next series is an Escort with noticeably Klingon styling, a Cruiser with Federation lines, a Science vessel with Romulan design heritage and a Carrier/Dreadnought with Dominion flavor, all based on a common build/stat framework.
What I would least want to see is "from now on, everything's gonna look pretty much Federation in design, but, you know, with Klingon windows and a pointy Romulan beak stuck on the front."
We'll see which direction the devs take this development.

I think they should name the new alliance "Space Force".

Yea... that's an Ody. Probably the Yorktown variant or something. I believe the Enterprise-F was refit into one of the T6 variants after the Iconian War...

We may assume (absent evidence to the contrary) that there are a valid technological reasons why different races' ships look so drastically different. That is, something about Federation starship engineering just works better with saucers and nacelles on struts, klingon ships somehow work best when arranged into a winged, long-necked configuration, and so on.
The other option, that starship designers are actually proposing to the admiralties of every military ever that "this isn't our best design, but it is the one that looks the most noticeably related to our earlier ships," would be ridiculous. They'd be told to stop playing around and build the best possible design instead.
As such, a combined technology base should also have a single optimal shape language (regardless of what extent, if any, it resembles one or more of the contributors' aesthetics), not a rainbow blend of many different mix-and-match styles shoehorned in just to pay lip service to factionism.
well they have some potential to make it pretty awesome. Id like to see it as a lvl 65 faction you can join. Open up new arcs for it, A good chance for new zen ships with unique designs ideas like say a rom sci carrier with aspects of fed kdf and jem design.. open up all faction fighters for the carrier even maybe the frigates like the drones, callisto and brel's. Could even have a new fleet base addon the K.A.F. outpost. But we will see if its just a zen grab or somethign with actual potential

Funny, I was thinking of the scavenger base in Star Trek Elite Force.

A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

There's no thread in the news section yet for it.

They'd be wrong in that one regardless; we've had them for years.
Indeed. They are available already on all ships.
Those who learned about this did this the hard way and as a result simply never made it to the Wiki to share that information

Looks like a cross alliance vesta variant.

Thought it was a vesta, but with the Intel oddy a cloak makes a little bit more sense.

Would be nice maybe new boffs
Funny, I was thinking of the scavenger base in Star Trek Elite Force.
It's just going to be a new Admiralty for starters.
I tried twice and my post has been deleted both times (not moderated, removed.)
I guess this is another topic we can't discuss.
If you look really close, it looks like the nose registry is NCC-170....and its too blurry to make out the rest. What could the rest be?

Maybe it was just eaten by the Edit Monster. That will also make any mostly-identical repost automatically be eaten as well.
