But, do you remember why Spock avoids direct physical contact with people? It's because touching people directly causes him to feel their thoughts. Mind meld is deeper than that, but if he was holding a Vulcan woman like that he would be able to hear her thoughts...

Per S1 TOS Ep. "Dagger of the Mind" - Vulcan Mind Melding requires more than just simple touch contact.
right, but he'd still be able to hear her thinking even without that.

It's probably Hugh. You know that Delta Patrols with the Cooperative have been closed. New VOs, new Ship Model for the Cooperative Command Ship, etc.

But it's a domestic cat, so it's thinking boils down to two groups of things:

    1 - "Pet me...Feed me...Pet me...Feed me...Pet me...Feed me...Pet me...Feed me...Pet me...Feed me...Pet me...Feed me..."

    1 - "I'm going to KILL you human...oh, LOOK...SHINEY!!!"

Well, it looks like they've revealed who the special guest was:
    https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11357563-star-trek:-legacy-now-live!
And for the first time ever, Sonequa Martin-Green joins the cast to bring Michael Burnham to life!
    ^^^
So, she was the first series lead character they were able to get.

That said, she's not the only Star Trek actor involved in the Anniversary missions; they also mention Jeri Ryan returning and her charactyer model has been updated to look like she will in STP (at least from the Comic Con trailer for that show) - and it looks like they may have a few more, but we'll see.

TO me, all I see is money wasted on Voice Overs, instead of being pushed toward something more important. Such as upgrading the 12+ year old game engine, and working to move away from the Legacy Code excuse they always use.

The voice overs are great, but the inconsistency with face models is killing me. This patch introduces Burnham and Picard era Seven-of-Nine, the Burnham model looks like a near perfect recreation of Sonequa Martin-Green, but the new Seven model doesn't look anything like Jeri Ryan. How can they hit a grandslam with one actress and strike out so poorly with another in the SAME PATCH??

They probably had CGI Mocap scans of Senequa Martin Green to work with. As they don't get stuff ahead of release from CBS; or perhaps the scenes involving 7 of 9 didn't require a CGI Mocap to begin with, so Cryptic had to look over the San Diego Comic Con trailer and have an artist do what they could from that.

Look at that face. Her thought process looks to be virtually identical.

I think Salome Jens' changeling had a slight character model update too.
