So the people who were so proud to see the “joke” were wrong. Those are actual prices.
I'm still sour about that, what cool my jets was the mere fact that I own everything in the muddy place with the exception of Robert Picardo's holo EMH, which I equally care less about.
My only gripe are the pricing - and if the day comes they raise the cap on how many toons you can create, then I am screwed, as any new toons will not have the shard, cane, breen, and reman BO.
Let us not forget, any future content will be at that exorbitant pricing.
Here is a question; Is this suppose discount sale will be around this upcoming black Friday? And if so, will they tact on another 25% off on top of this suppose sale pricing?
I have played this game since beta and have always loved Star Trek. However over the years this game imo has slowly been declining in quality and playability.
Constant bugs that never get fixed. Lack of content releases instead focusing on zen store, lock box or r&d. Crippling server stability issues.
Even with these issues I have just tried to stick with it. However this latest cash grab through the new Mudd store is for me the last straw. It has caused an absolute outcry. Your dil exchange is at max because of too much dil in game. Every item in the Mudd store is extremely over priced (14,000 zen for one ship, I mean come on) and imo you are forcing your consumer base to look else where for mmo pleasure.
So this for me is the end of the line. I would only come back to this game now if big changes were made. Unfortunately I don’t see that happening. To those of you players willing to overlook this mess I say good luck and happy gaming.
I will stick the game out for a while longer, but buy nothing till the prices become more reasonable *not likely* and if in fact the game continues to die a slow death I will eventually be right behind you and leave also. If it wasnt for the fact that I got the lifetime 3 yrs ago I would probably already be gone. The lifer is the only thing holding me to the game and hoping that the devs learn sooner than later that you cant MAKE people spend what they dont have or dont feel is fair.
You know the funny thing about overpriced products? If you don't buy them, they don't sell. And if they don't sell, they go on sale at more reasonable prices.
It is illogical to get mad about it, just vote with your wallet.
Well for me I am not happy about some of the prices but I wanted the EMH boffs so spending 1000 zen was worth it maybe spending the 2000 zen for the breen and reman maybe worth it as I don’t have it in my newer toons

Stop being sensible. If something has a crazy list price you are REQUIRED to buy it now, by law. And waiting is for losers anyway.
That's why I buy all of my doffs from the C-Store instead of using the free recruitment missions, and buy plain R&D packs for all of my crafting mats instead of doing missions, salvage and admiralty. I have no choice.
I have to agree, the prices in Mudd's Market are waaaaaaay to high. The pack with the Ophidian Cane, Shard of Possibilities, and Breen and Reman BOffs, for example, should start at 2000 Zen, not 8000. Account unlock or no, that is simply a ridiculous asking price. If this is what we can expect going forward, then it's a hard pass for me.

Looking at all the raging and crying everytime anything expensive is released, I'd almost think that those people really believe something like that.
Sensible would be realising that when something shows the price then people will look at it so its probably not a good idea to have the numbers involved inflated to such a degree that they put off potential customers regardless of the discount.
But since when have sensible and the video game market (F2P or paid) been common bedfellows?

That's how a lot of non-digital retail has been for years now.
Land's End charges $50 for a polo shirt, but no sensible person pays that because you can wait for the 30% - 40% off sales that happen at least once a month.
Well the exchange rate has dropped 30-40 points today, it seems more volatile than normal so can't be predicted. With the 30% ship sale I bought the intel science bundle. I'm nowhere near mastering all the ships I have though so these new ones will have to get in line!

Good choice, I'll probably be getting it too. I just wish the KDF ship had a traditional Klingon skin as a second choice.
I mentioned this on the initial announcement thread (and I can't imagine it wasn't mentioned here yet), but I might as well mention it here too. I'm very disappointed in this development. These items really should have been added to the Phoenix prize pack. Here's why:
1. New items for the Phoenix store have been requested for a long time now, but I doubt anyone requested a new zen-based store.
2. Adding new items to the Phoenix store would have helped the dilithium exchange, but now zen has gone up even more.
3. Did I mention the dilithium exchange? Zen has now nearly reached the maximum. We really need something else that is a dilithium sink, not a zen sink.
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

I think it would be great if you could purchase some of the Featured Episode Replay Rewards in a non-pack form in Mudd's Market since I am missing certain BOFFs (Breen and Reman), the Shard of Possibilities, and the Ophidian Cane on at least one or more characters. Those are my two cents on it. Thanks.

For those of us that have some of the stuff unlocked on other toons, I totally agree. Somewhere buried in this thread I did bring that up the some of these items are fully unlocked for people that completed the events in the past. So if they were to purchase this, in effect we would be shelling out $10-$20 for basically one ultimate tech upgrade. For throes items we should be getting another 90% off. Other items like rerun maybe get an additional 50% off. Then yeah I think this would be worth it.
Mudds Market is defiantly geared toward newer players and then the SALES price makes sense.
One thing I would like to see for Mudds market would be to directly pay with Dil. If the Command Assault Cruiser - Visier Class is 3500z I would be nice to just spend 1.75M in Dil. If setup correctly this market could be used as way to directly impact the Exchange. Something the Phoenix boxes are loosing their effectiveness on. Just making the ship purchasable for 1.5m Dil should have the effect of dropping the exchange rate from 500:1 to ~429:1 as people with a surplus of Dil would choose just to purchase directly at ~429:1 vs trying deal with the flux on the exchange and getting 500:1 and then paying 3500z for the item. The Phoenix were a Dil sink, but a lot people don’t like the lootbox feel to them.
Just an Idea
For now in its current form the Mudd's Marketplace is unattractive to me. My Z is better spent on other items.
I did have all FE replay rewards… on 5 or so of my toons.
But I already have 20+ alts and some empty character slots.
So of course I buyed the account unlock.
Actually I did throw to Mudd... store 10k Zen for all things that I did not alreade had Account Unlock.
And all this from Dil to Zen exchange - no real money involved… so no loss for me (just some farming time )
I know the future business leaders hate to hear this but the exchange is entirely controlled by cryptic. They provide the supply. Then every choice they make determines the fate of the exchange rate. Let's say Cryptic is planning to introduce a required or desirable item into the game. They now have a choice to make. The choice is whether to offer the new item for Z or Dil. If it's Z then the price moves closer to 500. If it's Dil, the price moves down.
fleet holdings, upgrades to equipment, and phoenix were made dil and kept the market in check. We are done now with all these. For those lauding a brief 30 point drop with a phoenix weekend. Consider that it was around 200 for the first phoenix event that lasted some time.
so called black friday sales combined with mudd - both zen - have brought us to the ultimate conclusion of 500. Yes we got to 490 once before also.
I think even an equipment quality improvement to mega platinum would not move anything. I think it will remain between 480 and 500 for the rest of the game. 500 with each sale, then creeping down a handful between sales.

No, it wasn't stealthy. NOT because they posted it on the forums, which only a small percentage of the playerbase ever sees, but because it's on the launcher when you log in. That is the actual valid response to his claim.

Chronodynamic armour was a bonus from getting the game on steam and there's also an amazon preorder borg boff although that one might also be spliced into the LTS perks. Armour was locked to mk2 until a short while ago but not bothered upgrading to 12 on anything so don't know stats.
Well, I stand corrected. I checked the armor just a few months ago and it was still locked.
It instantly goes to Mk12 when you upgrade it (at least on my max level character). Not sure if there's intermediate levels.
Interestingly enough, it's still limited to one per character. You can claim a second Mk2 from the store, but if you try to upgrade it, it says "Item is already fully upgraded" even though it's not.
Here's what it is after upgrading (taken on ground map, unequipped):
Also, the Borg Boff isn't an LTS perk (if it were I'd expect the KDF one too, which isn't unlocked for me). However LTS does get playable Borg characters, that might be what you're thinking of.
