I only brought up lifespan to illustrate their lack of (or nearly so, and then it is very narrow) life experiences that broaden a character out. Overall, they are in essence very similar to the B1 battledroids, they have their moments but there are no handles for immersive play (at least from my perspective). Part of the problem is that I GMed and wrote so much over the years and it is hard to see the J'H as anything more than the disposable faceless minions they were (with perhaps one or two exceptions) always used as in DS9.

I played (and GMed a little bit) of the Palladium games too. We did a deep dive with the fantasy one (eventually it completely edged out AD&D in our group), mostly skipped around in Rifts (the main GM for that was a collector and liked to try out a new book every month or so which made for a lot of character gen but only a few sessions of each "campaign"), and Robotech was briefly popular. I briefly co-ran Heroes Unlimited trying to find a faster superhero game system than Champions (combat takes forever in that system if you have a lot of players) but it did not work out that well, and started a modified Nightbane campaign that creeped out a couple of the players too much and so was scrapped (the same thing happened to the Witchcraft game I tried running a lot later).

I played a lot of Drow characters too, some of which very... pragmatic... in style but not twisted evil types. Think Regina (the "Evil Queen") from "Once Upon a Time" type of character or like Liriel Baenre from "Daughter of the Drow". Even that was pushing it a bit in my group, which tended more to paladins, and the players were a bit too volatile for much backstabbing anyway, any campaign where that got out of control fragmented and collapsed from bickering rather quickly.
