On the one hand, good on them for joining these charity bashes on occasion. On the other hand, they never have enough keys for the majority of people. It's like a millionaire making a big song and dance about donating, then dropping $20 in the pot...
Is this a case of once 75k is donated the page stops and no one else can donate? Please tell me people cannot buy the ships after 75k has been reached.
I read it as they will donate up to 75k. I don't see anything about not taking more donations after that is reached.
Just for argument... let's assume they are going for a minimum of 25% for "operational costs + fees".
If they take in 100k: the "operational costs + fees" are 25k. Donate 75k. Limit reached.
If they take in 200k: the "operational costs + fees" will essentially be 125k, since they made a ceiling of 75k for donation.
That could be how it goes? Just my wild guessing.
Or maybe they figured if all the bundles sold they would be around the 75k (after fees) for donation. And it will just naturally end in that ball park figure.
I've seen other companies do similar. Freaking Walmart asking for donations to Children's Hospital but you read the fine print and it says up to 1M (or something) for the max donation. Seems very minor amount for a behemoth like Walmart and it's not even their money, its their customer's donations.
I was wondering as it says it ends in 16 days and at the current rate it will be 85% of 3 days worth of donations to the foundation then 13 days of 0% to the foundation and 100% to PWE profits which doesn’t sit very well with me for something that’s listed as 100% of proceeds which isn’t true.
Not keen on the idea that people might be buying packs in a few days thinking its 100% to foundation when in reality 0% of the pack price goes to the foundation. I guess we will find out after another $25k of donations what happens. Hopefully I am wrong.
I can't get the pink vanity shield to work on the battle cruiser included in the bundle. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. Fun stuff for charity is always a worth while cause and it is good to see PWE continuing these.
Well, i just bought the 10$ bundle and the ships (T6 Shran Light Pilot Escort for example) are still locked in the ZEN store, i could only claim the Pink Vanity Pack with my characters...
wanted to donate but refuse to hand out anymore private info . yes my email is private info and i don't want to register with groupees if it means they get that info . . next time you do a charity event make sure its done so that i can donate but not share information.its a great cause and i really wish i had been able to contribute
i think this is the second groupies charity event. there should be more. give away 5-u bundles, they become like flux compensator build in biff's car without the time travel ...
I was extremely interested in this new Tribble and swapped my previous goto Tribble out so I could utilise this one.
And bonus feature, a KDF character can freely claim the Tribble and use the animal. Since my KDF is CustomAlien, I have no data on if the Tribble is truly universal or just useable by KDF who are species compatible with Tribbles.
However, I did find it frustrating that I had to come to this topic to find out how to claim the code via the website without using Arc.
Since I don't have Arc and play through Steam, omitting the details of how to register the code through the official website was inconvenient.
If there's a next time for a similar promotion, please add that detail/link in the blog so players can easily find the relevant page link.
On the Groupees site go to your account. You should have a list of bundles. You can expand the bundle and press reveal code in that area. Then redeem that code in Arc via activate a product. 1 code for all items.
From the groupees website. you need an account to make purchase I think. no private info needed, just email and you can use a false name, password & reconfirm password. look up purchase history... once cleared the items will be listed and you can click button to reveal code. enter code at arc site to redeem... be sure to be logged into the right sto account.
Well, i just bought the 10$ bundle and the ships ... are still locked in the ZEN store...
You should find the ships are claimable in the "Promotions" tab which will (probably) unlock the ships in the regular ship-area of the store.
you see an grey circular item on the promo tab... 1 for the $5 escorts, 2nd for the $10 cruisers. once claimed they show up as available on the zen store under T6 ships. these are account unlocks.

Can you create a 2nd email account with one of the free ones and just use that for places you don't trust. I can understand not wanting to give out your main email address but its pretty easy these days to have a secondary email account which doesn't link back to any private info.
I wasn't able to play for a few days. I would've loved to get one of those bundles. But no. Limited Time and limited amount. Why? Is your database somehow limited to generate codes or what? This is dumb. I will support the charity anyways but I hate not to be able to get the offer. This is so unfair. Oh well guess I jus buy a bundle code off ebay when they pop up for 99$ from some RL Ferengi that trys to profit of cancer. Because that is what happens with this kind of promotions. codes end up on ebay and feed the wallets of... people with no decency or conscience. I'm really disappointed once more PW.

free emails from yahoo or google or hotmail... they work dont need an isp email. one time use and discard or save for use with other promos/sweepstakes that require emails.

limited cause it is money... I am sure not everyone who bought is an individual... some are re-sellers as you noted. Thou the codes expire by end of 2021. I dont see why your disappointed with PW when it is individuals who buy to resell.
It's a great cause and nice giveaway, but I was disappointed to see the ship bundles are sold out already? I wonder why there is a cap to how many free ships they can give out for a good cause.

Nope, there was only the Vanity Pack in that tab, i contacted the groupee support and i'm now waiting for their answer...
And it looks like some people still got the whole 10$ bundle while it was marked "sold out", but others (that have donated at least 5$) have to wait for their ship codes now.

Limited time phrase suggests that they won't be there long. Which was accurate because they sold out all the redeemable codes. It never suggested that the codes themselves would be infinite.

From business prospective it makes sense? Why would they want to hand out infinite codes knowing that people would be more likely to donate if there is limited supply.
The ships are cheap but I wouldn't call it "free ships" donation or not you're still paying money.

Make sure you're putting in 8 digit code and not 5. This code is for PC only not consoles. Also don't copy and paste the dates.

It clearly says the campaign itself will last untill october 15th, the only thing they might have suggested is the the 100%* part at the beginning of the article: "You can head to the Groupees site right now and purchase an exclusive Star Trek Online Bundle on PC - with 100% of proceeds* going to the Foundation."
"This campaign begins today, October 15th, and runs for a limited time, so don’t miss this opportunity!
*Perfect World Entertainment will donate 85% of all gross sales of product sold, up to a maximum donation of $75,000."

You do realise the intent of the promotion was to encourage us to donate to the charity - not just chase down a cheap ship.
If the ships are gone, you can actually still -donate- without buying a ship pack while receiving the pink vanity pack. Cryptic's donation of several thousand ships (~20,000) to act as a lead-in for the charity was quite generous (worth ~$400,000+ USD). Add on unlimited vanity packs and they might have contributed up to ~$500,000 by the time things are tallied.
Complaining that Cryptic didn't have hundreds of thousands of ships available for the "majority of people", seems to miss the main point of the post - giving a generous donation to fight the horror of breast cancer.
I challenge you to match Cryptic's donation of $75,000 or $500,000 - either one would be fine. Otherwise you're just making a big song and a dance about not donating.

Enter the code without the date on the end.
It should be something like eRTYGDDeq after you remove the date stamp.
