Part of the hesitation at the moment could be a combination of having to hold off to avoid spoilers for the Picard show along with an uncertainty about what Kelvin timeline Romulan ships should look like. It does not excuse the lack of new traditional style ones of course, but with a limited numbers of ships they can come out with at any particular time it does make a certain amount of sense that they would bring out other faction's ships while they get the Romulan styles question sorted out.
One thing I would like to see would be a hybrid Dewan/Romulan tech ship bigger than those pilot escorts, though I know that is never likely to happen. That "toilet brush" drive tail and semi-organic looking hull material actually has a lot of potential with a bird motif if done well, and maybe even a "flying fish" style that combines the two.

I think the Dewan things look like fungi. just compare them to the fungi on Dewa 3.
