PC Patch Notes for 8/15/2019

Star Trek Online will have PC maintenance tomorrow, 8/15, at 7am PT. Estimated downtime is 2.5 hours. You can find the patch notes right here:

General:
  • Resolved a typo in the Arena of Sompek Loading screen.
  • Removed the cooldown for the Event version of the Arena.
  • Updated Captain Ferrell’s Uniform in the Dyson Sphere Adventure Zone.

Content:
  • Resolved an issue that was causing an error when trying to warp out of the Delta Quadrant.

Ships:
  • Resolved an issue that was causing the T6 Voth ships to not display window materials properly.
Systems:
  • Resolved an issue that caused all versions of Section 31 Heavy Phaser Rifle to gain one more [Dmg] mod than intended when upgraded to Ultra-Rare.
  • Existing weapons benefiting from the extra mod have been repaired.
  • This weapon may now be Re-Engineered.
  • The damage of the Primary Fire has been slightly increased.
  • The damage of the Secondary Fire has been increased.
  • The recharge time on the Secondary Fire has been reduced from 8 seconds to 5seconds.
  • Resolved an issue that could cause the "Reactive Repair Nanites" trait to force you into combat.
  • Players who own the D7 Miracle Worker Flight Deck Carrier can now purchase Advanced Phaser Beam Arrays from the dilithium store.
  • Players who own the Miracle Worker Flight Deck Carrier can now purchase Advanced Disruptor Beam Arrays from the dilithium store.
  • Resolved an issue that caused some weapons to not work correctly with the new Beam Overload.
  • Resolved an issue that caused the Dual Heavy Beam Banks to not return the correct amount of weapons power when they finished firing.
  • Resolved an issue that caused the rank 2 version of some Discovery Legends Reputation traits to not display the correct values.
  • Resolved an issue that caused the duty officer that grants Shield Penetration on Beam Overload to proc once per shot, instead of just on the first shot.

    "Removed the cooldown for the Event version of the Arena." Not the most important but still really nice.

    "Resolved an issue that was causing the T6 Voth ships to not display window materials properly." I remember them discovering this error during last week's 10FW live stream.

    "Resolved an issue that caused all versions of Section 31 Heavy Phaser Rifle to gain one more [Dmg] mod than intended when upgraded to Ultra-Rare." Bummer, nerfed even before I could earn it lol.

    "This weapon may now be Re-Engineered." The more re-engineerable items the better imo.

    Didn't know about this Doff. Is it only supposed to proc on the first shot after activating BO? Or does this mean that it procs on the first shot of each fire cycle?

    The answer to that alone will be the determining factor in me looking for those Doffs at all.

    I never heard of this DoFF, Where do I get him? I just switched over to BOL from BFAW to experiment and see damage output and I have some very interesting numbers..

    Voth T6 Rampart: Good for window repair, but still no solution for autofire hangars, which don't work.

    How about we fix firing cycle haste soon? My main's build is 50% useless consoles/sets/traits because it's been nonfunctional for a long while now. I've submitted plenty of bug reports too, but I guess it just isn't important enough to fix...

    Unlike Captain Ferrel of the Dyson Sphere wearing an old uniform?

    thank you everyone who posted a reply i want to say i'm NOT blaming anyone for these problems but i've never seen it go on for the whole event before without being corrected. About 75% of the people who responded on here agreed they had the same issues at some time esp. during the Powerboard and Biathalon races because your in a competative race, it has happened during the Horgon Hunt as well but not as bad. The Risa event is by far my favorite event in the game, but if actually look at zone chat there is not one time at any hour the lagging and rubberbanding issue is not mentioned so its a major problem threw out the game by many many people. I just hope they can locate and correct the problem..thank you all who replied...see you at next years Risa event.

    yeah, who wouldn't enjoy 95% shield penetration on every shot for 10/15 seconds...seriously, that's way too damn overpowered, even in STO where power creep is a power supernova​​

    How about the Scramble Fighters trait? Since that makes hangar autofire put you into a continual red alert? I literally can't use hangar autofire right now because of that.​​

    Tactical DOFFS: Energy Weapon Officer - Beam Overload variant
    I think they're generally in the Romulan Survivor DOFF Pack, although should be on the exchange too.

    Although in this case I prefer the 'Beam Weapon Variant' Energy Weapons Officer which reduces the cooldown time.

    Thanks!!! This is gonna sting opponents a bit..Especially with my weapons using only 6.4 power..So once the batteries, starship traits and Boff abilities kick in..It might be a real stinker..

    It might not sting as much as you hope...the doffs are a %chance (35 iirc) for your weapons to get a penetration boost for 4s.

    Hanger pet autofire works fine. If u have the hanger pet icon in your power tray ie where you have evasive manoeuver etc right click on it so it has a green outline just like your ships weapons and hanger pets will launch and fire automatically when battle begins. If it doesn't work on voth ships then give them time to fix.

    How about reporting unrelated bugs that you want fixed in the Bug Subforum rather than in a Patch Notes thread that doesn't mention your particular bug? The patch notes are about bugs that have already been addressed. The devs who fix the bugs are looking in the Bugs Subforum for your reports, not the patch notes posted by the CM.

    I'm surprised those Beam overload boffs weren't known to so many people.

    They have been in the game for years.

    They're not really great though if you ask me. I've used them in the past but since you'll still have to shoot away the shield of an enemy if you want to kill him, it's rather pointless to have some bonus shield penetration for one shot. That first shot likely isn't going to kill most enemies. And if it did because you have high DPS, then you could also just destroy a shield in no time.

    Having this boff basically means that you start damaging the hull a bit sooner, after which you still have to shoot through an enemy's shields.

    Unless you have other shield-ignoring abilities, but then you don't need a beam with a chance to ignore shields on the first shot.

    My launcher is hanging after patching..

    Update: Launcher allows me to login then hangs with patching appearing in the patch bar and cancel as normal..Whats going on with the loader?
