If you mean updated to 64-bit, I have to disagree since everything from the ARC launcher to the game client is still running entirely in 32-bit. Am I not doing something correctly??
For those interested in penguinland, I was too lazy to re-do the install for the 64 bit standard Wine, and used SteamPlay instead.
64-bit SteamPlay/Proton is working OK, and indeed launching the 64-bit executable, as far as I can tell. It works best either in default config or with Vulkan and Esync disabled. Disabling just Esync gave me better FPS, but game was also very unstable.

I wish that there was a photo comparison between STO on 32-Bit/64-Bit, like the one that was used for the Lighting 2.0
While I'm not up to date on what changes would've happened with the switch over, I did notice metal looks more dynamically reflective. I didn't know if that was from a more recent update for my video card or from the 64-Bit transition.

UH...64-bit just allows the use of more than 3 GB of ram which 32-bit cant..

Add to that, performance changes are in the pipeline. Doubt there's any difference at this time.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
